I do apologize that we are not able to increase the limit at this time. I know that this is important for you as you need to use it for your Holiday. As much as I would loved to, my hands are tied as I cannot override the system.

M&S replied to my review with a bog standard reply. "Hi Karyn, We understand your frustration. There are lots of factors involved in assessing a credit limit increase as well as consulting with credit reference agencies. Thanks for your feedback. - Kim" It is quite clear that they have made no attempt to investigate the issue. Others have reported similar issues. M&S, you are not covering yourself in glory.....

Marks and Spencer credit card
I have had a marks and Spencer credit card for many years now and it gets better and better it is easy and informative when you want to check your balance and also pay off your monthly balance. It is now linked to your sparks card enabling you to access your rewards spending them has never been easier.

Trying to pay my credit card and can't via debit card then bank transfer and customer service can't understand my request.
Spent hours over multiple phone calls.
Why Any credit card company doesn't allow debit card payment is beyond me.

Maris Spencer balance transfer offers are better than 20 other credit cards I have and it’s incredible I had at least 10 balance transfers offer in two years.

Everytime I have tried to pay my balance it has taken hours!
Direct from another bank doesn't work
Within the app doesn't work.
By phone takes hours.
Trying to find my money you have misplaced takes days.
You eventually acknowledged I had done everything correctly and it was an unusual mistake at your end!

Reliability
I have had an M&S credit card for some time. I use it mostly for purchases in M&S stores and on-line orders. It is really a back up credit card. I do not use it as my main credit card as I believe I get better benefits from other credit cards. However, I certainly cannot complain about the support I have received, and how secure I feel in using the card and the on-line app.

I cancelled my credit card in June but…
I cancelled my credit card in June but have just received a letter telling me that they would not be renewing it once it expired which a credit expert informed me could have an adverse effect on my credit rating. One of the credit agencies also says their record shows that I have just applied for a new account with M&S.
It is total incompetence of their part and could result in my first black mark on my credit report. Be warned, if you value your credit status they may do the same thing to you.

Non-existent credit card is about to expire...
I've just received a letter saying "Your credit card is about to expire and won't be renewed... after a review of your account and information provided by Equifax.
Interestingly, further down it says "We don't get details of any information held at Equifax..."
Spot the contradiction there regarding Equifax?
More interesting is the fact that about two years ago I applied for and got an M&S credit card, but immediately cancelled it as I realised it was of no use to me since I did not have a smart phone on which to install the app.
So the intention is to cancel what I don't have. What an interesting logical universe M&S Bank operates in.

I cancelled my credit card last month after many years due to what I considered a disappointing change to auto payment. You still keep sending me emails that I don’t want.
