I love the look of the product

I love the look of the product, but can't review the quality because they can't get it to me. LOL. I have been waiting for two months for an office suite, and each time the delivery is scheduled, something happens, and it gets canceled. I finally canceled the order, and now I am being charged a fee for their lack of communication and organization. The product looks great on the site, but the customer service and logistics are a nightmare.

High Prices for Low Quality

Two and a half years ago, I purchased the Ellow 28.5" Reclining Lounge Chair. In the beginning, its function was equal to its appearance. But about six months ago, the seat cushion began to sag, allowing the protruding lumbar-support of the seatback to dig into my lower spine. Then a couple of weeks ago, the reclining mechanism began to make a loud popping/snapping noise and the upholstery on the side of the seat began to snag on a piece of the broken mechanism, adding a ripping noise to the symphony (the faulty part is not visible, but pieces of shredded upholstery are dropped out). I have used this recliner very lightly, and I weigh only 175 pounds, but its quality and durability have proven to be severely lacking. Article customer service simply said that I was beyond the one-year warranty, and that I needed to hire a furniture repair company to fix it. But because of damage from its defects, I will also have to have the seat reupholstered, since the reclining mechanism shredded it. My mother had a cheap no-name recliner for more than 15 years and never had a problem; we donated it and it’s probably still in use. This article recliner cost four or five times more than her chair and lasted only a couple of years. I do not recommend Article, either for its sub-par overpriced products or its weak customer service. Article doesn’t stand behind its products.

Angry delivery driver

Delivery drivers demanded to take photos of home interiors. When the customer refused, the driver became angry. I understand that they need proof of delivery, but a photo of the item at the door and outside the home should be sufficient. Contacted customer service, but they just repeated their need for proof of delivery and quickly ended the chat.

Article is not what it used to be. Their delivery service has been outsourced to various third-party companies. And it looks like their customer service has been too. Had good experiences with Article in the past, but our more recent experiences with Article's delivery and customer service has been consistently disappointing.

If you don't give 5 Star Review then they will not post your review

I posted an honest review on their website about issues with the Sven sectional. Instead of publishing it, they repeatedly emailed me asking for photos and videos. When I submitted the review, I was prompted to indicate whether I wanted to speak with customer service, and I selected “No," because I don't have time for the back and forth. They contacted me anyway several times.

The problem was on their end, yet I was expected to do all the extra work to prove it. That isn’t customer service. Because I didn’t leave a five-star rating, my review was never posted.

If you’re considering a purchase, be aware that not all reviews make it onto their website. They are only posting the 5 star ones and they’re selectively filtering what customers see.

Do not purchase lower quality furnitures than IKEA for double price

I purchased a table that cost almost $1500 and only lasted two years. Upon receiving the order, I noticed that the colour of the table was incorrect and there were strange white marks on the legs. However, I didn’t make a big deal out of it. After two years of barely using the table (we usually eat at the island bar), the wood on the top started peeling off and causing splinters. Despite my concerns, the customer care team responded by saying, “They are comfortably agreeing to disagree,” and refused to provide any support.

We offer a 1-year warranty that covers any defects in manufacturing or craftsmanship, which ended for this product in July 2024. Unfortunately, outside of this period we are limited on the support we are able to offer, and do always recommend reaching out to us as soon as any issues are noticed so we’re best able to assist, though it does seem that the color of your Rutten Dining Table is in line with the product information (there can be slight variances in color, due to the nature of natural wood products). In alignment with our Customer Care and Management Team, we do recommend reaching out to a local furniture specialist for any further assistance you may require.

Bad quality, poor support, censored reviews

If the rug had arrived in good condition, it would be fine. However, mine arrived looking like a factory second that had furniture stored on (randomly flattened areas of pile where it looked like couch legs has been on top), localized small stains, and many many areas of loose pile. I expect that to happen to a rug over time, but I've never had a rug with loose pile the instant it was unwrapped.

It's also been shedding like crazy. Far worse than three competitors rugs I received around the same time.

Support was unhelpful, offering a tiny refund relative to the flaws or return service that required me to pack and relocate the product to a exterior area that would be impossible in the city I live in as well as extremely difficult if not impossible given the size of the product.

Most annoying -- my review of this terrible experience is not visible for the product on their website. I suspect many more terrible experiences are being censored.

Do not purchase from this company

Do not purchase from this company. Buyers will be disappointed to discover they are not built to last and the company will not stand behind their product. I purchased a Capra outdoor sectional in 2021. I should have known better when the frame arrived damaged but we went with the offered discount and kept the items. We have removed the covers twice to wash. Our second time removing them we discovered the inner pillow inserts were disintegrating. I reached out to the company to see what I can do. Article does NOT sell replacement cushions, replacement covers, or offer any support. They told me I should go find an upholsterer or buy new cushions from another store. It’s been 4 years and we use their covers. Terrible. Everything is expensive these days and they have increased the price on this sectional, I can tell you right now it’s 100% not worth it. Invest in better quality!

Bad customer service, iffy build quality.

We have been happy with most furniture bought there.
However, customer service and build quality a bad.
We had a poor build quality issue with an expensive bed we bought, when I asked if a part could be replaced or if any help could be provided I was flatly turned down because the order was more than 12 months old. They could have chosen to help at minimum cost to them (small plastic part requested), but chose not too.
Red flag in my book. A shame.

We do offer a one-year manufacturer's warranty on all of our products, and unfortunately, we're unable to assist outside of that window. We also don’t currently offer replacement parts for sale. This is due to a few factors, including warehouse logistics, quality assurance, and compatibility considerations.

Beautiful designs undermined by unreliable delivery partner

I recently had to cancel an order with Article after a deeply frustrating experience with their delivery partner, Ryder Last Mile. Despite multiple calls and a full week of waiting, my bedframe was never delivered - even after the driver showed up and then refused to complete the delivery for no valid reason.

That said, I want to be fair: Article’s customer service reps were consistently kind, responsive, and professional. I truly appreciated how they handled the refund once I chose to cancel.

My feedback is really for Article’s leadership: your furniture design and quality are beautiful, and I would genuinely consider shopping with you again — but only if you stop using Ryder. The delivery issues I faced seem systemic, and there are countless similar complaints online.

Great products need great fulfillment. I hope management hears this, because Article deserves better.

Giant hole in the upholstery after 2.5 years

We bought a couch 2.5 years ago and it has now ripped along a seam. The upholstery has pilled and the foam has compressed. The frame also squeaks from as little as moving our head back-and-forth while sitting. We contacted customer support and they wouldn’t help or do anything because they only cover warranty for a year. Article is shockingly low quality and very overpriced for what it is… We have a few other pieces and we were also disappointed with them. We won’t be shopping at Article any more.

After leaving a negative review they emailed us back. After 11 emails, multiple photos, a video, 4 customer service reps, they decided that the hole in the couch, the squeaking of the frame, and the pilling are not manufacturing issues and therefore, since it is out of the warranty period they cannot help.

They said "We’ve reviewed the photo you shared showing hole in upholstery, and it appears that the opening you’re seeing is not a manufacturing defect, but rather an access point in the upholstery—typically used during production to position or adjust the frame or padding. These openings are not intended to be visible or accessible once the product is in use, and over time or under pressure, they can sometimes come apart." However, there is a giant zipper along the pillow for access and the hole is not on the frame as they said. Apparently it is not unexpected for a giant hole to appear in their furniture? When I pointed this out and asked to speak with a manager they just denied the claim, wouldn't include a manager in the conversation and said they couldn't help further.

Save yourself the money, headache and time. You may as well shop at Structube because they have the exact same couches for a $1000 less and are the same quality. This was our third (and last piece) from Article, and we have been disappointed with all three, but this really takes the cake. We are also shocked by the customer service which was really unhelpful and in my opinion dismissing. I have had clothing that has lasted longer than this couch. If you encounter a hole in your couch, which apparently is not unexpected and not a manufacturing issue, don’t expect any help from them if it is after a year. They communicated the following:

“Our policy is information we educate and uphold with all of our customers. We are comfortable agreeing to disagree - staying true to our decision in being unable to offer support beyond recommending a local furniture professional.”

i bought a cabinet in walnut

i bought a cabinet in walnut. The images on the website do not look like what I received. Website images show warm walnut with varying walnut shades What I received was a very dark brown cabinet/body, with virtually no warm colors at all, and the legs on the base were a completely different color. They do not look like they even go together. I wanted to exchange it for something else. They were only willing to send me the oak version, which would not have worked at all in my new living room. I am in interior designer and have been for many years, spending many of those years working for furniture manufacturers and I know my finishes. Bad website images, bad customer service. Not worth a penny plus the delivery was at least 6 + weeks. DO NOT BUY FROM ARTICLE.COM

Complaint Regarding Inability to Purchase a Single Chair

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with your policy regarding the sale of chairs. Recently, I attempted to purchase a single chair from your collection, but was informed that it is only available in sets of 2. This policy is extremely inconvenient and does not accommodate customers who may only need a single replacement or have limited space.

As a customer, I value flexibility and the ability to purchase what I need without unnecessary waste or added expense. Forcing the purchase of multiple chairs when only one is required is not only impractical, but also environmentally and financially irresponsible.

I kindly urge you to reconsider this policy or offer an alternative solution for customers in situations like mine. I was genuinely interested in buying from Article again, but this experience has made me question whether your company truly supports the needs of all customers.

Flawless

The two tables i bought from Article were very nice quality and a fair price. Delivery was just a couple of days and the packaging was the most meticulous i have ever seen. Assembly was idiot proof and quick. Typically, I'll look at Crate and Barrel, West Elm, Room and Board. Next time I need something Ill probably look here first!

Excellent quality furniture

I have now ordered two large furniture items from this company. Shipping took longer since it was coming all the way to Canada from the US, but no problems with delivery. Quality for both items are amazing and I will be ordering from this company again.

From placing our order to receiving our Conan Table and our Zola chairs everything was seamless. Great service!! Awesome quality!! Our son told us about your company as we had not heard of it before. We went online and checked out your website and absolutely loved so many things. We will definitely be buying more from Article as we are so pleased with the great quality of the furniture. Customer service are such JERKS. Holy, they don't believe you on anything. Y'all hurting for money that bad you have to scam? The crazy part is my friend also had a bad experience with this company after I referred him to it. I hope this company goes under. I only have disgust. Edit: Hush Desireé, you know what y'all did and you know Article cuts corners on order issues. My friend had a trash experience with you too. The company and customer photos provided an accurate depiction of the color and texture of the fabric on the sofa I purchased. It arrived within 3 weeks and the third party delivery service was outstanding. I couldn't be happier with the product or service.
