Guides, chalet and hosting were all tip top, couldn't do the MB mission due to weather but learned so much about alpinists in a week that we all came away not disappointed

I did the Mont Blanc trip with the AB team. It was a fantastic experience, from start to finish. Booking was easy, all well explained. The chalet provided to our team was superb (central Chamonix) and hosted by one of the team who worked hard and was extremely helpful. Our guides were amazing, travel between destinations was seamless too.

On the mountains, we were well looked after at all times - great socialising and team spirit built. There was a group WhatsApp created by AB, allowing communication and all of the group to share photos, videos etc. All in all, a fantastic experience.

Where do I start!!?

Advised to book AB via a friend and thankfully the best advice I have taken in years.

From the moment I booked the process has been professional, smooth and as advertised. Every aspect of the trip is as mentioned and the support network is fantastic should you have a query.

Once arriving in Chamonix we were greeted by the chalet host Britt, the welcome process/ updates and service were second to none. Thank you personally Britt for being such a fabulous host.

Now on to the experience, words cannot describe how amazing this is, we had the legendary Fabio who escorted us to each destination. Stories of amazement as you listen to this "hall-of-famer” We were then joined by the just as amazing Nacho, he escorted the second team on summit day, seriously one hell of a guy👌

The professionalism of the whole experience is to be applauded and I cannot extend my gratitude enough to the team - Fabio, Nacho, Britt. The expertise of you guys made every moment a safe and amazing moment.

Thank you all to everyone who is involved in this fantastic business, you made something possible that has been burning my brain for two years. The training paid off and the mountain Gods were generous with the conditions 😎

I cannot recommend this company enough and will be booking future experiences in the coming years.

Friends and I signed up to summit Mont Blanc. We had great comms from the start with emails and WhatsApp groups. Everything was obvious and the apartment is in a perfect location in Chamonix. Britt manages the arrivals and daily breakfasts and she is a great host.

We met our guides Nacho and Catalin in the first evening to go through our kit and the training days ahead of us. These chaps are experts in their field and a testament to the Alpine industry. We cant big them up enough.

Now for the hike. Well, the weather isn’t anything anyone can control and Mont Blanc was looking like we could not summit in the wind and snow conditions. Nacho and Catalin came up with a plan to take us to Italy to summit Gran Paradiso and they booked our huts the evening before. An impressive turnaround for the change of plan. So we headed to the huts and wow Gran Paradiso was amazing. The huts are fabulous and have great sleeping dorms and overall a great vibe.

Please just make sure you train hard for these mountains as their difficulty is not to be ignored. When taking your kit up to the hut your bag will weigh 11kg. You reduce your kit for summit day and this then becomes around 6kg. Make sure you train hard at distance with this weight in your bag.

We are really sad to leave today however we are already planning to come back next year to summit Mont Blanc.

Fantastic. I did the gran paradiso and Mont Blanc adventure. Fabio my guide was great, super knowledgeable friendly and fun. Rhys joined for the Mont Blanc bit and was equally as good. The weather prevented us going higher than Tete Rousse on Mont Blanc which meant we had a spare day. Fabio organised for us to do a local faratta which was great fun. The chalet team were great, Victoria and then Britt or a guard everything in the chalet including breakfast. Super experience and I’ll see you next time Adventure Base

This is my third adventure with AB. As always the calibre of the guide is what makes the trip. Nacho was super experienced and safe as a ski tour lead. AB support and customer care is great. Folks like Beth, Tristan and Tansi work hard in the background. Will choose AB again.

Completed the Haute Route with AB last week. Great service before the trip, flawless Logistics throughout and a really, really great guide all contributed to making this the trip of a lifetime.

Completed the iconic haute route, full traverse from Chamonix to zermatt. Great support from the AB team and guide both before and during the expedition to achieve the aim around the weather.

Great trip, excellent guide who responded well to the ability of the group, well organised

Good communication from adventure base from the point of booking to arriving back home
Kit list and levels of training/fitness were in depth and informative
The transport in Morocco was punctual, the accommodation was comfortable and the hosts were friendly, helpful and welcoming
Our trek guide was very knowledgeable and made the ascent a more enjoyable experience
We were well fed and the food was tasty.
The equipment we rented was in good order and at no point did we feel the service was lacking.
Overall a great trek

I had a fantastic experience with Adventure Base. The team was incredibly professional, from the guides to the on-ground staff, who made everything run smoothly. Despite some changes to plans due to weather, they came up with excellent alternatives that added a unique and memorable element to the trip. The accommodation was comfortable, and their warm welcome and great communication made a real difference. Whether you’re after a guided experience or something custom-built, they clearly know how to deliver. Highly recommend Adventure Base for your next mountain adventure – I’m already thinking about my next trip! Four stars only because there’s always room for that little bit extra.

We booked a trip to mt Toubkal in October with my wife through adventure base, from start to finish the hole experience was sweet as!! The hole team took the time from the get go, to answer all our questions before booking the trip, thanks Charlie (great guy), then Beth took over and booked everything for us, the clarity of communication was awesome and made everything easy for us!! Last but not least our guide Hamid, insane knowledge of the mountains and really did his best to make us feel confortable and explained to us the marocain way, very very welcoming and not shy to answer any questions you may have!!! The full experience was brilliant I would greatly recommend adventure base, we already booked a trip in Italy for 2025 🚀🚀🚀

Just come back from a trip to Mera Peak, Nepal, which is no longer on their website (so I guess discontinued).

Good points:
1) They got us up the mountain (and down again).
2) Gave me an NHS Blue Light discount.
3) We got to Lukla Airport and the planes were flying, yet our guide put us on a helicopter instead (despite us having plane tickets and querying this). We were given a hefty bill. However, Adventure Base very kindly agreed to take the hit on this and pay our helicopter flights, and said that we should not have been put in that position.

Not so good:
1) Expensive Company: I’ve traveled a lot and these charge a lot more than others for similar. About £1,500 more.
2) We came into problems whilst away and needed to talk to Adventure Base. One of them eventually got in touch but then disappeared. We ended up meeting with local guides on our holiday to sort things out ourselves. Adventure Base should have been much more on hand to help, and this left our group quite stressed.
3) I felt we were mis-sold some things: the high price we paid was said to include tips for porters, however, were told by local Adventure Base guide to tip again. Also, their brochure said that the flights were from Kathmandu (where we were staying), not from another airport a night’s drive away. I don’t think this was deliberate, and I get that things can change’ but nothing was communicated.
4) Much slower than other companies with email and WhatsApp communication.

Once we got back, we reached an agreement/compromise and I am glad we have reached an amicable close.

Summary:
An average travel company that can book things for you, and it’s all OK unless something goes wrong.
Probably not geared up for travel too far from where they are based, but I’ve heard good things about their more local trips (e.g. Mont Blanc). However, based on my experience, it is unlikely that I would use them again.

Absolutely fantastic experience with these guys, whilst we could not summit Mont Blanc due to poor conditions, additional exciting activities were provided, from the guides to the chalet staff, friendly, welcoming and fun, I would thoroughly recommend.

We are in our late 60s. Adventure base custom built a TMB trek so we could do 6 to 8 miles per day over 14 days. Resting on days 5-6 in Courmayeur. Private rooms now and then to off set the bunk beds and barracks. Even in two hotels the dinner and breakfast were already paid just like the Refuges. The self-guided trek allowed us to do a test day when we arrived (Montenvers balcony) just to get ourselves acclimated and our climbing gear tested out. It was such a joy to meet other people on the way and to have the freedom to call our days and pace the way we wanted. The staff were present to provide assistance upon arrival, and during the trek by message to let a refuge know if we’d be late. The integration of Strava off line 3Dmap allowed us to see where we were even in the weeds. We highly recommend this company for the self-guided TMB. We look forward to using them again. Next, on to explore the Dolomites.

Beth, Harriet and Charlie at Adventure Base created a custom Tour du Mont Blanc for my group of 8 senior friends. They provided the logistics to work around the UTMB and the end of the season (August 29-September 12). Our trip and daily hikes were fantastic! They arranged rest days for us to occur every 2 to 3 days where we could enjoy the culture of France, Italy, and Switzerland in turn as we hiked around the massif. I highly recommend this very skilled company, especially if you want some customization in a Mont Blanc trek.

Charlie, Olly, and Beth….thank you for arranging an incredible journey through the Alps. We trekked every step of the 121 mile trail through sun, rain, sleet (not really), and snow (really) and loved every minute of it. The arrangements were great or at least comfortable, the refuge staffs were friendly, and the soup was hot. Our fellow hikers were great and we made some friends on the trail. Adventure Base was great, we made a lot of last minute changes which you happily accommodated, you checked in on us during the trip. We really felt like you cared. This was a once in a lifetime experience. I am glad we chose Adventure Base!

Highly recommend Adventure Base for any future mountain challenges

From our guides to our catering staff everything was spot on. The chalet is in a great location directly in the centre of chamonix not to far from the pedestrianised street. A warm welcome and great communication was presented by each member of the adventure base team. I even managed to meet Beth from the office as I was coming off Arête des Cosmiques. If you're up for a challenge and you want to try something you've never done before I would definitely recommend it but I must warn you, you may go home wanting more . Thank you for everything it's been a blast
