I bought a £1000+ Acer Spin 3 in August/September 2023 ahead of starting a medical degree and needing something high-spec to support my studies. After only about 18 months, the battery seemingly failed, the laptop only turned on and stayed on when plugged in (shut down immediately if unplugged), had a constant amber flashing warning light and would intermittently start making an extremely loud fan noise that only ceased when turned off overnight or more. Despite the money spent, Acer just could not have been more dismissive and unhelpful. Warranty was a year only which I should have paid more attention to but I just don't believe it is acceptable for a £1000+ laptop to fail after such a short time, against consumer law on selling goods fit for purpose in fact. They could only suggest a paid-for third party repair that involved me buying a new battery for around £100 and then shipping the laptop off to Hertfordshire for goodness knows how much more. I'm now left without a working laptop for my studies after investing in a product that should easily have lasted the 5 years of my degree and more. My laptop is not fit for purpose and as a student, I do not have hundreds of £ available for a repair which may not work and battery may even fail again judging by what has happened here. Acer washed their hands of all responsibility apparently. Massively regret not using my £1000 to buy an iPad or better brand of laptop actually fit for purpose that wouldn't fail after 18 months, lesson learnt to avoid Acer completely in future.

Update to say that I ended up getting a battery replacement at my own cost but all problems persist, laptop has fundamental internal/motherboard/battery charge unit issues that Acer refuse to acknowledge or resolve. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Great machine very quick and silent the battery life could be improved but is still a great machine thank you

Returned the laptop , reason being states premium metal case only the lid is metal rest is plastic no card reader extremely disappointed

The Desktop PC I was looking for was in stock so I was able to take it home immediately. It was very easy to set up even though there are no written instructions for anything these days. Only slight problem was setting up the wireless mouse and keyboard (my old one was the wired version), but a quick call to Curry's helpline gave me the info
I needed. So simple when you know how! The Acer TC1785 is a pleasure to use.

Great new laptop! Well specified for office work, I don't game or stream so this was perfect for my needs and all at a sensible price! Easily configured with everything from email (multiple accounts) to office software rapidly set up. A happy customer!

My new Acer computer will not connect to the internet. I have full fibre to the house, our phones connect very easily. I have contacted my service provider and have been told I need a booster to connect the PC to the internet, the first time ever. That is why I have given you a 3

On researching for aew lap top I selected 2 that satisfied my needs the acer aspire being one of them. It fsatisfied all my needs and requirements.
After buying and using the laptop it has proved to be to my satisfaction and I am pleased I made the correct decision

Acer cheated saying Microsoft is included in the system in the product description in Amazon and after purchasing it says it's only trail and have to purchase

Nice little laptop. Easy to set up, especially for a pensioner. Excellent screen and lightweight. Recommended, especially for the price.

I have only had my Predator Helios Neo 18 (14th gen i7 cpu and Nvidia 4070 gpu) for two weeks and so far am absolutely delighted with it. I do a lot of photo and video editing and the extra oomph over my old laptop makes both tasks a breeze. This machine boots up quickly, I find the keyboard very pleasant to use and the larger screen and higher resolution make it easy on the eye. I haven't done any gaming since I sold my cranked-up Amiga 1200 back in the 90's, but suspect the Predator may well tempt me to take it up again.

I have a Acer v3-531 which I bought with windows 8, the device is not uogradable to windows 10 or 11 making it only useful for 1 operating system cycle, they also do not respond to questions asked about this device given a major oversight by the company showing the poor quality,
I would avoid Acer for this reason they want you to keep buying their newest devices instead of making a quality product that will last

This is my second laptop from Acer in recent years and still reliable

I love how thin and lightweight the laptop is and the screen is lovely and clear.
FALSE claims on the battery life
Be more clear on the inability to upgrade RAM and at least offer to purchase more RAM when buying.
I preferred my dell keyboard and track pad.

Very fast laptop which does everything I need it to. Used for office work and using Microsoft Office but also web browsing and email. Feel would work well as a family laptop as well though. Would recommend to family/friends.

The laptop has worked perfectly

I have been a loyal Acer customer for over 8 years now. During this time, I have purchased 6 Acer laptops and also proactively shared positive feedback with family/friends to encourage them to buy Acer products too.

Recently, a fault has developed with one of my Acer products which I reported to the Acer technical support team via their website. The feedback I received was that Acer no longer carry out in-house repairs and I was referred to a third-party company, Laptronics. I have since contacted this third party who have provided an estimate which I cannot justify to pay given the age of the laptop. As an alternative, Acer do not offer any kind of trade-in scheme (unlike many of your competitors), so my options are limited. Unfortunately, this leads me to break my long-standing loyalty to Acer and switch to Lenovo, Dell or another competitor. All because I cannot get an Acer expert to fix my laptop at a reasonable price. They even directed me to a spare part (again to another third party company) which is out-of-stock!

I find it genuinely very disappointing that Acer do not have a process in place to accept a one-off repair which can be carried out by their in-house technicians. And that this repair cannot be done at a fair price, which I am quite happy to pay. I have no doubt that Acer have the right technical expertise to get the laptop working perfectly again, but my overall experience is now one of disappointment with the Acer brand. As mentioned earlier, I have always stayed loyal to Acer, but on this one occasion where a hardware/product failure has occurred, my loyalty has not felt respected. Even submitting a formal complaint was not straightforward.

I would suggest exploring alternative brands who are able to provide a better after sale experience.
