TERRIBLE SERVICE. Every time I call they are extremely rude and useless. The third operator I was just on the phone to hung up the phone on my face because he didn't know how to resolve my issue.

Awful service, email down for 3 weeks. Keep telling me my domain is in a company name when’s it’s been mine since 2002 can’t speak to recovery people or any managers. Staff use hang up on you. Can’t even cancel my contract.

I was with this company yers ago something happened to this company years ago which I can't understand and my website disappeared without anybody saying anything about it I don't know how long my website was down for but as soon as I realized I moved from 123 I did not get any form of apologize so I moved to thohost if that's rite. I was with them for years no problems not I'm being forced to go back to these Jokers not only that but they are forcing me to pay 500 pound for five years upfront hosting I don't think so I'm going somewhere else I do not trust this company with my business one tiny little bit giving this company a one-star is a joke it should be zero

Now 28 days of Domain access denied and 192 hours since I was promised a code within 48.
This is either systemic disorder, absolute customer contempt or punishment for challenge.
In any case, it's bad and we want to leave this bad company - but 123 won't let us so, having collapsed our contracted comms service, 123 now keep it collapsed rather than resolve.
Hours on phone before realising that phone is actually designed not to work being demoralised off-shored call-centre staff.
Opaque Account Recovery process, automated and defaulting to start all over again and then silence. Presume any correspondence going to suspended email for 123 have not responded to a single email.
123 have only replied, and continued a three email trail before going dead, as response to Trustpilot reviews, as an email from the hilariously named Account Recovery Team.
Team; our Account remains un Recovered.
I wont embarrass with names, or bot monikers; it must be awful to have to work for this, now American company even if you are an AI chimera.
However, 123 had, at 16 days 'managed to locate the account in question', only to demand that I provide all the same information submitted previously twice before.
After 18 days, 123-Reg asked for some further verification apparently due to 'the complexity of the case', although they could not advise what was complex about the case, nor what the case was about, and which is our lives and livelihoods.
After 20 days, 123-Reg finally advised that they could now 'help (me) gain access to the account'
After 28 days, they havn't.
In considerably less time, and in spite of 123-Reg collapsing our email service and having to move to back-up, we managed to contract, exchange and complete on a commercial property.
123 need to send a code.
The company is a disgrace and its directors are directly responsible for the activities and behaviours of its employees; leaders lead and from where others follow.
123 should immediately restore to us the service contracted, which it has illegitimately curtailed and continues to deny.
Terrible customer service... reminiscent of a scam
Whilst TrustPilot has asked me to try and be constructive I cannot be with the customer service at 123 Reg... having been with TSO host for many years and always paid my invoices I, as everyone else using TSO Host was forced to migrate to 123 Reg. As echoed by other people I was given just 2 days notice that my domain would be shut down. I missed the email. When I phoned through to customer service I was told that there would be a £100 fee to reinstate all my files. Sounds reminiscent of a scam. When I asked if it would be possible to be re-sent the email outlining all their policies I was told it was not... which sounds unbelievable at best and at worse either unforgivably cack-handed or unfairly deliberate. I was also told that 'we don't use Direct Debit'... the answers were in the email... which they 'cannot' resend.
Feel bullied into a service that I did not ask for and whilst my Domain name appears for sale (?!) it is not up for renewal until later in the year. Feel scammed and belittled & will be looking for another hosting platform.

Exactly the same as others reporting
Exactly the same as others reporting - no emails in or out for over a week with no explanation, seriously affecting my business. I cannot use the 2-step authentication process as the email for the code is within the same domain. I was told I cannot access their complaints process without being logged in which is an absolute joke but not funny at all. I have passed security checks but they still haven't changed the email so I can receive the code. I was told, and I quote : '72 hours doesn't mean anything - it could be a lot longer' then the call was disconnected. Avoid.
Unbelievable price increase
I should be wary of auto-renewals but my hosting package went up from £35 to £160 without my knowledge. It's safe to say I won't be staying with 123-reg having been a loyal customer since 2013.

Recently registered another domain and now I've come back to configure, login page is not even appearing. Need to be logged in to use the chat. To add insult to injury the status page is either not responding or showing as all working

This used to be my no1 choice for domain registrations, but they have decided to ruin it for everyone few years ago and now it's even worst then ever. If you are looking for domain let's say example.tld it used to show you
example.com
example.co.uk
example.net
example.net.uk
But as more and more domains was getting registered, they thought that people will be willing to registed domains different to what they want or simillar. So, nowadays you get results like this:
myexample.tld
xyzexamples.tld
foxexample.tld
Which are completely not related to what you want. Instead prioritizing helpng you to register the word you want and give you an option of hundreds of tld's they trying to confuse people.
Through several accounts we had over 1400 domains registered with them, but over the years we have moved it all to registrars with standard domain search. It's a shame that reputable UK company which had it's roots in PIPEX destroyed it's reputation and ability to keep customers. I have visited today their website, and it's unusable for somone trying to find and register, few domains a week.

We have been with 123 for a number of years, mainly fairly happily, but after the introduction of a new 2 step system of authentication, we were locked out of our account and it is causing us enormous problems as a business. As I know, many will say they are terrible in any case and we should just leave, switch providers and believe me, if we could, we would! When the new system was introduced, they denied us access to our account (even though we have been clients for many years and they still take their fees from our bank) until we provide a Council Tax Bill and a recent letter from HMRC. We are a business and pay business rates, hence we supplied a copy of a business rates bill. That is apparently unacceptable to 123, it must be a Council Tax bill. So basically a document we are never going to be able to provide. Our payroll, like any business is submitted online and we do not have recent correspondence with HMRC and nothing that shows the names of all members and our address. We are not a limited company and cannot therefore produce company registration details. Something 123 simply do not understand. Despite providing our business rates bill, copies of our bank statements, letters from our accountants, copies of supplier invoices, none were acceptable; it is a council tax bill and an HMRC letter or a Companies House registration document or nothing.
We are trying to switch providers and will do so in a heartbeat, but once again to do this we need access to our account. This is denied yet again.
I had to post a formal complaint as e mailed complaints are not allowed - by a technology company!! This formal complaint remains unanswered. I complained again formally and again no response. The only ineffectual response was an automated one to say the ticket was to be closed as we had not responded. We then complained to the Abuse Team who it seems are also unable to help us, without access to our account. My colleague has spoken to them on the phone times without number, but still we are in this ridiculous limbo. We cannot as they suggested at one point, get a key to access our account as we have to log in to our account to order one!
My colleague has asked to escalate this and speak to a Manager, but guess what.... you need to log in to your account to speak to a manager!
I am left at the moment with a brick wall and a sore head.
And one big question How do we break free from 123 Reg?? Do not use this company. The support you pay for is non-existent. What should have been a simple switch over of authentication processes has left us in this utterly ridiculous situation. if we have a problem with our service we cannot ask for support as we are locked out.I have never ever known of a business that makes it impossible for their clients to continue to use a service but also makes it impossible for the client to leave.

Stopped email forwarding and want an extortionate charge for a service that is free elsewhere. Customer service just said "tough, anything else?" I have moved all 25 domains from them and my hosting too.

Dreadful customer service. Not a trustworthy company. Be very careful if they ring with a renewal quote as they are very misleading and took twice the agreed amount from my account. Still waiting for a refund
Useless lately
Useless lately, they have bought out TSO host. I have an account at TSO host and an account at 123-reg using the same email. Now they have bought out TSO host I cannot login to either accounts and have website and customers screaming due to not being able to login and make payment. They are saying it's down to me as I have used the same email for 2 accounts but this was done before 123 bought out TSO host so they were 2 separate companies. Now I must use my time running through an account recovery process because support is useless.

Payment demand but can't pay them!
Having had no access to my account for some time, I received an email saying my account would be deleted within 2 days (to today 4th Feb) if I didn't pay up! This is the first demand from 123-reg with just 2 days notice!!

The link went to another account I have with 123-reg, but there was no reference to the account they referred to in their threatening email to me!
I raised a support ticket with them and after a very long time was told to phone 0345 450 2310 This took several hours and I got nowhere with someone whose accent was incomprehensible. A promised "one time passcode " did not arrive.
If I believe their email, I will lose ALL my email facilities yet I've done everything possible to save the situation.
I want to pay for ongoing services with 123-reg yet cannot do so. They have taken over from Compila/Vidahost/Tsohost who I have dealt with for 20 years with no problem.
I'm appalled with 123-reg, they are a waste of space and will cost me a fortune through no fault of mine.
Update 2330 Feb 4th 2025 - I can no longer use emails hosted by 123-reg, and my domain name is marked as "for sale"!

Like all the other reviews, I have shared the same experience. It’s abysmal. It’s the most frustrating time trying to get sense out of anyone at 123 Reg.
We have had no business emails and I have spent in excess of 3 hours on hold, only to be told to wait for a response from someone working in an overseas call centre, with apparently no management as I have requested a number to escalate the issues I have been having.
How can I get a code via email to an account that has been suspended with no warning?? The issue is not payment, as this is something I have been trying to do. I follow a link and my domain does not appear as one of the products. I called few weeks ago and was advised that 123 Reg do not host our domain. The next thing I know I have no emails…
Sticking hot pins in my eyes would be a more enjoyable experience.
Abysmal - avoid
Stopped forwarding emails without notice, so missed a lot of key communications, currently a 51 minute wait time for support. Have to pay additional money for a service which used to be included as part of domain hosting.

123-reg - I would rate it below 1
I would rate it below 1 but not possible. I was forced to move over to 123-reg after tsohost stopped trading.
Never faced issues with basics like email. Used webmail, browser email, outlook client email and never an issue of failed delivery on a shared environment!
Move over to 123-reg - costs 4 times the cost, pathetic support, expect you to accept poor standards and pay through the nose! Avoid at all costs.
