Young Writers have promoted poetry and creative writing within schools and poetry competitions since 1991. Our aim is to promote poetry and creative writing, for children and young adults to enjoy both reading and writing. We run annual competitions, produce poetry and creative writing collections as well as provide free, engaging resources for teachers and young writers.

Poetry Stars!

It has been a great opportunity for me to have my beautiful work published in a book as I love to write!
This has really given me a boost of confidence.

The book arrived earlier than expected (which was nice) and is great quality too.

The team have been very kind and informative and keep me updated on other competitions and activities running throughout the year!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sorry to hear that you felt this way about the experience.

Just to clarify, there is no obligation at all to purchase a copy of the book in order for your child’s work to be published. The aim of Young Writers is to encourage creativity and imagination, and we want children to feel proud seeing their work in print regardless of whether a family chooses to buy a copy. At least one complimentary copy of the book is sent to the school to ensure each child gets to see the printed book.

We also make a conscious effort to be inclusive of all ages and abilities, which is why we celebrate every contribution. For many children, having their work published for the first time can be a really positive confidence boost.

Of course, purchasing a copy is entirely optional and simply gives families the opportunity to keep a printed version if they wish.

Each time I have emailed with a question, your people have helped me with it. Lily did a great job helping with a couple certificates that needed fixed.

Excellent Support – Issue Resolved Quickly

I had a great experience with the support team at Young Writers. My daughter Stuti has her story featured in this year’s Young Writers competition, but her account was not activating properly and she was unable to log in.

We contacted support and Archie responded very promptly. The issue was handled quickly and efficiently, and the account was activated without any hassle.

Thanks to Archie’s help, my daughter was able to access her account and continue engaging with the platform. We really appreciate the quick and professional support.

Technical issue

Due to a technical issue I was not sure if my order had been placed. E mailed the team and had a quick response. The response was informative, polite and answered my question. Really happy with the help.
