Get mostly epoxy and tools from them. The only slow down was curing covid which everyone slowed down, but eventually the product arrived.

No recent experience buying planes, etc.

I bought a new plane that was discounted because of cosmetic damage, it arrived with a dead electronics package. Tower hobbies advertised it as working, and now refuse to send either a replacement or even a new board for me to replace. False advertisement for sure.

STOP!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GETTING YOUR HOPES UP FOR A GREAT DEAL THAT MAY NOT HAPPEN!!! Ordered a truck in August. It's now over 3 months and I still haven't received the item. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Their only solution after 3 1/2 months and several email correspondence was to tell me they can refund my money....nothing was said about simply getting me the product I ordered. JUST HORRIBLE!!!!

Ordered lots of trucks from them got them in a good time.this last Order 2 weeks nothing they got the money bot ant the truck l Ordered. Called them thay say it's been processed.wont Order nothing from them again will find a nother hobby store this is pidefer thay AR getting sorry 😞

Tower Hobbies used to be my go to place for RC airplanes and things. I have used them for decades. My recent experience with them has been a major turn off. I know they have been bought out by Horizon Hobbies and I am not sure how that will ultimately play out for them.
I got an email that said sign up for the Super Saver Club and get a 20% off coupon. No restrictions. I used to be a member of the club because they offered shipping on lower dollar value orders and paid back better points so I thought, "Why not?" 20% off is a good offer and I can get the cost of the membership back easily.
I signed up for the Super Saver Club and it says you should receive your coupon within 24 hours via email.
After almost a week of never getting a coupon I reached out via their contact us page to find out about my coupon. I got the email that said they usually respond within 24 hours.
Almost a week later I get an email from a customer service representative and he apologizes and provided a coupon code. That evening I sat down to put an order in. When I put the coupon code in it said it was unable to apply the coupon. I replied to the email and asked what to do since the coupon was not working. The representative replied that the coupon had expired and to have a nice day.
I responded and questioned why a coupon code I was given that morning had already expired. His last response was he would check with his "super" and get back to me. I still haven't heard anything.
It is very frustrating. The only reason I signed up for the Club was for the coupon. If they are going to advertise an offer I would expect them to stand behind it. Apparently that is not the case with them anymore.
Sad because they used to be a great company to work with.
Several days after joining the club I got the email asking for feedback. I have been waiting to see how they resolve the issue before responding to that request. I figure at this point it is time to finally respond to their request for feedback.

Towerhobbies used to be the best online retailer of hobby grade kits, parts, tools and supplies. Around 2018-ish Tower was purchased and the entire consumer experience went downhill from there. I used to purchase from Tower regularly from about 2008 until about 2017 or 2018 when it went downhill. Here are the issues I have. 1. Tower doesn't carry much, they only carry a few brands and what they do have is very generic. I am sure they'll tout that they carry 13 brands or something, but in reality when your looking for an RC car kit for example you'll have like 2 choices at best. 2. Other sites carry a ton of "boutique" and independent brands from smaller companies, not Tower, they only carry the big brands (and not even all the big brands). 3. Their website is awful, try doing a search for something like "tape" and the results you get are extremely limited. I often have to search by part number as I can't find anything on their website. 4. They never have what you need or want, ...guess that goes into #1 above (they don't carry anything). They seem to be focussed on the 1st time buyer who doesn't know much about the hobby so can just go to the site pick something and buy it. For the enthusiast this site doesn't offer a lot. Sadly Tower used to be the best, not sure what happened internally, but i'd say they are among the worst now. :(

Paid with Pay pal, they refuse to send item even after sending them a photo copy of payment, States Attorneys office has over 2,000 complaints of fraud involving Tower hobby, this will be the hardest money they will have stolen and look forward to seeing them in court

I have been waiting for an item on Back Order for almost a year..... During June customer service rep suggested me to place the order so that when that item arrives, I would be on the beginning of the list....
An order was placed on July 30th.... About a week after I received an email saying that the item I wanted was in stock. ..... I have an order confirmed by them . Status after almost 30 days...."processing" In other words, they are advertising the item in stock, take the order but do not ship..... Now that I decided that since they dont ship I dont want it . Customer Service rep says it can't be cancelled .. This is a JOKE ! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM ! Horrible Customer Service Experience.

Terrible customer service, they lie, they are chronically our of stock on many items. I had an item on pre-order for 6 months and when it got released my order was never fulfilled even when I got subsequent messages saying the item was in stock and I should order now. I contacted their support who lied to me assuring they were going to fulfill the order and the warehouse was processing the shipment. Then a few days later I was told via email to cancel and re-order if I wanted it now that it's again on back order again.

Don't try to purchase anything from Tower. They are not shipping anything, and customer service is also down. Note also that order cancellations are not allowed. They have a note that explains why. But it sounds like #%$* to me. It looks like they are going out of business and taking orders on stuff they don't have in stock.

PAID Them $100 for a gift card and they never emailed it to me i have tried contacting them for 1 week with 0 luck this is theft.

Tower Hobbies just lost another $250 order due to a troublesome bug in their online checkout form. It's impossible to fill in the "state" field in the address form, either by autofill or manually. The drop-down menu function for state selection is also kaput. The shipping choice selection form is missing completely, so of course, checkout can't proceed without a valid shipping method selected. We tried and failed twice over 2 weeks. Now I have to issue my customer a cash refund until I can locate the particular ARF Fockewulf model he wants us to assemble to RTF (ready to fly) for him. I showed him the excuse banner Tower posted on the site, but that's little help when dealing with an impatient RCer who's ready to spend and fly ASAP. They need to upgrade their IT talent because the website is a mess compared to how convenient and easy it used to be.

Horrible customer service. They do not care about inform customer about orders placed and paid.

I have spent many hours trying to buy RC aircraft. Their system would go on hold and not conclude the transaction. I recently ordered an RC sailplane. It arrived with a component problem [bad spar insert] after some hours on the computer, I got a replacement. When it arrived it had the exact same problem. Hours later I am told to return everything that there will be no more replacements. I felt like I was treated as some chiesler scamming them. I wanted to alert them that there was a problem and how many others would suffer the same experience.

Received a damaged plane. Tried to contact customer service via email and automated service but never got any response.
I will never purchase anything else from Tower Hobbies again. Definitely not the same company from the 80s and 90s

No one home! If you shop (and I hope you don't) at Tower Hobbies, Do Not expect customer service if you need it.
- They offer robot online chat.
- Their customer support page responds that they are overwhelmed and provides you a useless case number.
- Shipping is SLOOOOW
- Tower Hobbies is NO MORE!
I have two open cases with NO response from Tower Hobbies

I’ve used Tower/Horizon since the 80s they used to have thirst customer service in the business. Sadly it’s no longer true! I don’t call much anymore but after 2 years I have a lost shipment and I find out Tower/Horizon no longer offer a voice line for anything! As long as you never need support you’re ok. But everyone will need support at some time …,Avoid Tower/Horizon there are other RC Hobby stores that still answer and support their products! I’m not advertising so look it up and enjoy peace of mind knowing your products and money will be well spent and CUSTOMER SERVICE AVAILABLE

Terrible company never do business with them or horizon Hobby going to Traxxas there maggots... Stealing people's money!!!My package didn't have a signature and they put it on front door and someone apparently stole it!! Never buying anything off them or horizon Hobby !!Traxxas is way better business anyway!!

If you enjoy a 1-way shopping experience, rude staff, no consideration for customer support, etc. then this is your company. They won't even let you make minor changes to your order before it ships. Every interaction with them over the past two years has been horrible. Received damaged products, wrong products, etc. and I had to fight each time and often get stuck with fees and return shipping even if not my fault. I've been a customer for over 20 years but never again. Do NOT buy from this company! Horrible...

I have requested multiple times and multiple ways for upper management/ director level contact information but I was unable to receive them from Tower Hobbies so I am posting this information here and other places online.

Tower Hobbies was my go to Hobby Shop for decades. It will be no more. I pre-ordered quite a few AFX slot cars (4 GT40 Mk IIb, 2 Corvette LT1, 4 GT 40 Mk 4, and a single 70 Chevelle and single 71 Chevelle) way back on May 19 just as soon as they posted them on their site. The initial ship date on their site said July 15. After countless shipping delays, we fast forward to first week of September and they finally receive them. These slot cars immediately began hitting Ebay and other stores around the country. I was excited to finally get my slot cars after waiting for FOUR months and being one of the very first to pre-order from Tower Hobbies. So I waited for shipping confirmation for several days (again after seeing other stores post them as available and seeing them appear on Ebay. One small vendor in NY sold 26 of the MK 2b's) But no word from my very, very pre-order from Tower Hobbies. So I sent a message requesting info through their online "customer service" form. Someone replied saying that I would only be getting one car, the 71 Chevelle!! After several rounds of emails, the customer service person "Sam R" said they were only able to ship 12% of the outstanding orders because that was all the product they were shipped. I could understand that IF I had just pre-ordered a few weeks or month or two ago. But I pre-ordered as soon as they listed these available back in May 19, FOUR months prior. There is ZERO chance that all 12% of these fulfilled orders were placed before May 19. Zero chance. So the question is, who at Tower Hobbies placed later orders before legitimate early pre-orders and why?

The why is easy. These slot cars are hot ticket items and were already selling at 2-4X markups on Ebay within hours after their release. So PROFIT is the why. The question is who did this. I believe there needs to be an audit. Again, there is NO WAY orders were shipped in the order received as Tower Hobbies promises. Otherwise, I would have received all the GT40 Mk IIb's and Corvettes I pre-ordered.

Tower Hobbies is no longer my go to Hobby Store. And I will NEVER pre-order from them again as there are games being played somewhere along the line.
