Account is locked, Customer Service does not respond

Today, Sunday, May 2, 2021 is Orthodox Easter and I tried calling my relatives in Greece using my Tel3.com account.
To my surprise, I was informed that my account balance was $0.62. What happened to the over $100.00 that I had on my account.
This is disgraceful. I cannot believe that I have to go through once again with Tel3.com on another issue.
If you cannot use your account to call when you want to, what good is their service?

Due to your combined efforts my account has been promptly restored by Tel3 Customer Support and I am back in business.

Account is locked. Emails not answered. Customer Service calls not answered. After wait time of 3hrs phone calls disconnected. Been calling for week. I have been a customer of Tel3 since 2008. I personally subscribed to the service because my elderly mother made frequent international calls to relatives. For years we had great service at very reasonable rates. My mother passed away about a year ago and we had not used the service for more than six months. I tried calling using Tel3 service and discovered that my account was locked. I went to log in on the website and received the following message: Your account is not active at the moment, please contact customer service at 1(800) 482-4459. I have been calling the customer service number for a week now and with each call I am placed on hold. After a hold time of 3hrs I am disconnected. I sent an email to their support email address. I received an auto reply that I will receive a response within 24hrs. I have yet to receive a response or have my account activated. I seek to have my account activated and have my pre-paid services available or have my money refunded. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

So here we go again

So here we go again, we were locked out in September and unable to use the account. After receiving no response I wrote a review here and someone reached out. He was able to unlocked the account and said we shouldn’t have issues as long as a call was made within a year which we did and it was working. Well a few months later and we are locked out again. We are probably just going to leave the funds there and go with someone else. It’s just too hard to deal with this very few months.

Very Frustrated & Disappointed Tel3Customer

Very Frustrated and disappointed with Tel3 service. Been with Tel3 for many years and referred my friends. I contacted Tel3 and was assured that I'll have a refund in Sept 2019. Still haven't received my refund and calls don't get through.
"All circuits are busy." ...is what I get. When I called customer service, the recording indicates a wait time of 3 mins, which is untrue. It puts you on hold for 30mins or more.
Quite dishonest in my opinion. Extremely frustrated and disappointed with Tel33 Advantage.

"All circuits are busy" - cannot make calls. Working on it, to my great relief.

This story seems like it might be having a very happy ending. So far there are two parts. The first part is my frustration, and now the second part is my relief that Kary, the Director of Operations at Tel3 has taken a direct personal interest in making the situation right, which I deeply and sincerely appreciate.

So...here is the story.
Part 1 - The Frustration
I have been with tel3 for ten years. For two days straight, Dec 8th and 9th, 2020, when I attempted to dial internationally many times thru their system I consistently receive the message, "All circuits are busy now. Please try your call later." I try later and get the same message. I found this very frustrating. When I clicked on their support link I received an "error" page.

Part 2 - Tel3 Moves Quickly to Resolve the Issue - YAY!

I found on the tel3 site a place to enter the problem, on the evening of Dec 9th, after business hours. And I was very pleasantly surprised the next morning, Dec 10th, to receive a personal phone call from Kary, the Director of Operations at Tel3. He explained that Tel3 had been having problems with their associate carrier in the country I was calling and they had changed carriers. I am going to try calling again in a few days and see if the situation improves.

I will post an update here. I really appreciate having this venue to tell my story.

I received another call just now from Kary, and there is no doubt in my mind that Tel3 is sincere about trying to rectify these issues. In retrospect, one issue in 10 years is a pretty good record.

Kary also gave me extra minutes to express his apologies for the difficulties. I think this is great, and I am going to buy some more minutes from Tel3 when the problem is resolved.

In these days of complex technology there are many things that can breakdown. So I now understand the issue more clearly and am confident of a positive resolution soon.

I have been using this company for more than 10 years. I have referred so may if my friends and family to Tel3. However, I’m not sure what happened Tel3 is not the same anymore. I have not been able to make any calls. I have reached out many times and nothing happened. I have more than $40 in my account and now they blocked my account and the “system” does not recognize my email to reset my password. Apparently I am not the only one experiencing this. My dad use to love this company. Customer service used to be great. Now I wouldn’t even give them one star.

I am updating my review simply because someone reached out to me and resolved all my issues. All I’m asking for is consistency. I have been using Tel 3 for a while. And for now will continue to do so.

Don't use this company

Still, Don't use this company. As you can see by their response, they have "requested a refund". 2 weeks later, I have seen nothing or heard from no one. 6 weeks (or 2 weeks from your posted response) is being patient for something that is a no brainer.

Don't use this company. They have no customer service. I used their service for many years so my account was not inactive but I needed to close my account. I called several times for a refund of my money and no one answers after 45 min. I sent emails and get a canned response that they will get back to me in 24 hrs but do not. I had to laugh when I did get an email asking to rate their customer service stating the issue was resolved when no one talked to me and the issue was not resolved. With all the complaints seen here, I don't know who is giving them an excellent rating but they don't deserve it.

Tel 3 Supervisor Apologized After Rude Agent Would Not Help

I have been with Tel3 for many, many years and their service and customer service had declined to the point that I only occasionally used it. I learned that one loses the money if the acct. is not used in a year and usually remember to make a call before that time, but with Covid, etc. I forgot until the other day.

My acct. was blocked and when I tried to call Customer Service I could never get through, using the various options - operator - recharging, etc. It would say "wait time is one minute" and after five or so it would disconnect. Finally, when I chose "new customer," aha, they picked up.

I spoke to Richard, a very rude guy, who after finding my acct, said it was my fault and they would not recharge my credit. I agreed it was my fault, but in the past they were understanding and reset the acct. with the remaining funds. Plus, I was only less than two months after the annual date. He refused to let me speak with a supervisor and kept talking over me until I finally hung up.

However, after seeing reviews here and that management took our complaints seriously, I was contacted and my account was reactivated, my money put back and it was a much more pleasant experience.

Though they've raised their rates to Europe, etc. I was informed of special offers when recharging that they sometimes send to continuing customers. He also assured me that they were in the process of fixing their customer service phone lines, which hopefully will return the previous fast connections.

Clearly, management sees these posts and will hopefully make changes to their service and personnel. Contact them in this manner and you will surely hear from them in a positive way.

I have activated your account and I only ask that you please place a call through Tel3 before midnight (eastern ) tonight, This call can be a local call even to your other phone if that works. If necessary we will activate it again if you cannot place a local call today. Again our most humble apologies.

Horrible experience - there is no customer service

Edited - Two hours after I posted my review, I received an email for account activation - so call required. As of now, the 3 stars are for how easy it is to use the app. No stars for customer service!

I set up my account five days ago and it's still inactive. Website says 7 days customer service - NOT TRUE. I have called both their numbers over 50 times, and it puts me on hold and then disconnects. I have emailed 3 different support emails, still no answer. Everytime I log in, the screen shows that my account is not active and call customer service - OMG - I have been doing this dance for 5 days. NO MORE!!

This looks like a SCAM - I am working on getting my money refunded!!

10 months later still waiting for my refund...

10 months later still waiting for my refund & resolution to my last follow up review copied and pasted below of 4/23/20... to-date no response from Tel3 yet they are able to continue sending promotions - "RECHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT NOW AND RECEIVE A 350% BONUS FOR MORE FREE MINUTES" Stay away from this company as they are absolutely a fake and a scam...!!!

When can I have my $19.07 account balance refunded...
Still no response to my numerous email since December 27, 2019 and March 25, 2020. Tried calling 1 (888) 886 8353 on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 the number on their promo emails, same story wait time 6 minutes which is the same after holding for 30+ mins.

Today on their website bottom right hand corner is ? Help button. Clicked on a chat opened and sent them a message. Upon submitting got message support will get back and an email saying - Your request (#20271313) has been received, and is being reviewed by our Support staff. Our goal is to get back to you within 24 hours.

Also tried to see if can access my account on their website - tel3.com - by asking to recover my user name, got below message:

Your account is not active at the moment, please contact customer service at 1(800) 482-4459.

Getting out, cancelling credit card

Suddenly the calling rates have gone way up after many years of use. Also, the Tel3 website is now "not secure", from several devices or browsers. I can't reach anyone.
I'm cancelling the credit card I'm using (luckily a rarely used card specifically for these kinds of iffy websites).

Company running a SCAM

This company is running a scam. I have over $50.00 balance in my account and I cannot make any phone calls because my account is inactive.
I call the company many times, they put you on hold forever.
I go online account is inactive.
This company is still advertising.....SCAM SCAM SCAM

Have been using Tel3 for some 15 years

Have been using Tel3 for some 15 years. I love their good international call prices. Sometimes the customer service wait period has been long, but I know they are fixing it right now. Their Executive is over and above when it comes to customer service though. He has made sure my service works a couple of times when I had some dropped calls...in the past. Overall, this is one of the best international phone companies there is in USA. Of those I have tried.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

I have been very pleased with Tel3 for many years. Recently locked from account, a total of HOURS spent on hold and no representative. Multiple days of calling with many holds but NEVER getting through to a representative even after HOURS of holding... VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Calling Tel3 AGAIN!!!!!! And AGAIN!!!! AND NO ANSWER!!!!!!!

Thank you very much Kary, a Director at Tel3 for contacting me this afternoon! He explained to me that Tel3 has been having an ongoing problem with calls getting through to customer service. He reactivated my account and was very apologetic. We have had Tel3 for many years and used it all the time while my husband was in the military. After speaking with Kary I changed my rating to 5 stars!!! I hope they will soon be able to solve the problems they are experiencing with their recorded message.

Calling Tel3 AGAIN!!! Recorded message says "Your estimated waiting time is 3 minutes." Big LIE!!!!!! As you end up being on hold for HOURS as that has happened to me!!!!!!!! I have stayed ON HOLD for HOURS for many days!!!!! And they NEVER have answered!!!!! They have locked my account and all I am trying to do is get MY account reactivated!!! This is not a good way to treat your loyal customers!!!!!! Please reactivate my account with my remaining balance!

Initial review:
Customer since many years. I was always happy with their service, rarely any problems until I reacted recently to the promotion emails they send nearly daily, promising 300% or more bonus minutes on your next recharge. I followed the link and recharged using the code provided, and NO bonus minutes at all.
I contacted customer service, an automatic ticket was created with links to follow that do not work. The next email received was to rate their support. ???which support, none received. I replied to that email, and also to the service ticket, in which I noted that the link to the support site is broken and leads to an error message. No response. I sent 4 or 5 emails and added the customer support email address to the last one, meaning my follow-up email number 5, which included all previous follow-up notifications, went to two departments, their "zendesk" tech support" and customer service.
No response to any email sent.
I consider this fraudulent business and advertisement, luring one in with special offers, and not keeping up their part... and on top of that ignoring any emails when one asks for support. Fraudulent competition should be penalized, if not already, as a company sets itself ahead of the competition with false advertisement!

I've being a customer for over 7yrs!

I've being a customer for the past 7yrs. They suddenly cancelled my account and asked me to sign up for a new account for their "new Portal" which I did. Added $50 to my account to qualify for a $10 bonus. My Account wasn't activated so I couldn't make calls. I called and called and cannot talk to a representative,instead,after 50 minutes on hold,they hang up every time!. Very disappointed, and will never recommend this company to anybody. My account is now 'Suspended' for now reason and my $50 has not been refunded. And I can't talk to anyone!!!

I've been calling for months…

I've been calling for months now,cancelled my account in December,now, September 1st,and they haven't refund my money,I call and can not talk to a representative,instead,after 30 minutes on hold,they hang up 10 times. Very disappointed,will never recommend this company to anybody

DO NOT do business with Tel3. The quality of service is very poor and their customer service is non-existent. I went to cancel my service because of this and they refused to refund my balance on my account. VERY dishonest
