Be wary of fake discounts from SW
I have been a member with Slimming World for the past 40 odd years and most recently the last seven years as a continuous member. I decided to use the Slimming World kitchen because they sent me a text message saying we would offer you 20% off your next box, I thought yippee I’ll do that. So I ordered two boxes and I noticed it was only 15% so I contacted them and they said oh it was a misprint and I’m sorry it should’ve said 15%. Shouldn’t they honour the 20% because would I have bought another box if it had only been 15%. That is mismarketing for me and when I contacted them I was told there’s nothing they could do sorry. Not what I expected from Slimming World at all and I don’t think I’ll buy the boxes anymore

Just left alone due to choosing the online version. Whilst I didn't want to attend a group, neither did I want to try and navigate with no support whatsoever. This was a free 12 week course to help me lose some weight through the NHS - I would not pay for this service - it is beyond shocking. Very disappointed.

Program works but very cliquey
There is no doubt the program works if you work it. I lost a stone in 11 weeks. However if you want to eat HEALTHY its a bit dubious. The focus is on minimising fat but allowing endless amounts of certain sugars (fruit) and carbs (pasta for instance). Great if you're a big fruit fan and not too bothered about insulin spikes. As a post-menopause woman I'm advised to eat medium to high fat and minimise carbs/sugar.
I had wanted to go Keto-ish for a long time so in the end I used the structure of SW (they give you a great little food diary) and simply reversed their carb/fat philosophy to suit my own body. Once I did that the weight fell off. I like the fact that proteins and veg are a free for all, that suits my body. But I did feel its top-heavy on rating mainstream, processed, microwaved type of foods and doesnt really give a lot of info about specialist diet choices such as gluten free products, lactose free, MSG free ie all the stuff one buys in the Health Food store.
The main disappointment about the SW club is how unfriendly and cliquey it is. No-one really says Hello unless you force them to and there are little cliques that keep themselves to themselves. As a result it can be quite a strangely lonely expereince to be in a roomful of people that act like no-one else exists. Eventually I got talking with someone who said its like that in all the SW clubs in our area and that lots of people have the same complaint and have moved around trying other SW groups but not found anything friendlier. Seems like a shame, part of going out to a club is to meet people but....you don't! The group leader is quite friendly but does nothing to promote better group dynamics. She just stands at the front, talks about herself and her anecdotes, hands out the prizes then you're done. We did have her Boss come in at 1 point and she was much more interactive. She got audience participation happening and even asked if we were the VERY cliquey group which caused some uneasy laughter. Obviously word has gone out about this 1 group in general but as I say I'm told the basic attitude is similar in all the local groups. I may go back as it DOES help me stay on track with weight loss but I will try other groups further afield to see if there is a better fit.

I started SlimmingWorld on Tuesday
I started SlimmingWorld on Tuesday, the 6th of October 2020 and when I got 1st weighed on the world scales I started at 20 stone one and I was shocked end of October 2020. I had type two diabetes and I had to take a tablet years later, I type two has been reversed and I feel so much younger and healthier and I wouldn't be healthier without SlimmingWorld help soon world has changed my life around and it's the best thing I ever did

I started Slimming World five years ago…
I started Slimming World five years ago and with a lot of hard work by me and a lot of encouragement from our consultant I have lost ten stone. Last week I had another one pound to lose to reach my Club 50 award, so I worked very hard to lose it.
Today I went to today’s group meeting feeling confident that today would be the ‘big day’, instead I was told that because I had lost two pounds it had taken me a pound out of target and was told to ‘go home and put on a pound’.
Although I know you have to have limits and cut off points today I feel so let down by Slimming World - the organisation that promises empathy and understanding to your members, both of which I felt today was sadly missing. It feels like the last five years have been for very little care and consideration.

Our Target members enjoy free lifetime membership while they remain within their target range, which is 3lbs below to 3lbs above their target weight. If someone falls outside that range, they have a week to return to it without charge, and once they do, they continue to enjoy all the benefits of Target membership.
We understand and apologise for how disappointing it must have felt when what should have been a celebration was overshadowed by finding yourself outside your target range. We're sorry if the conversation left you feeling uncared for, as that would never have been our intention.
Your dedication over the last five years is truly inspiring, and will be celebrated by your Consultant in group soon - congratulations again Jacqui on this very special milestone.

I have just been watching LIVE and I have a comment about the volume
I have just been watching LIVE and I had to turn the volume on my laptop to maximum. Can you make it any louder your end? Secondly.......there is too much hand waiving about between the mouth and the microphone. This does not help with the clarity. Same applies to turning head away from the microphone and fading the sentence away as you are speaking. The lady on the right is constantly doing these things. I did enjoy the content just the other bits and pieces to adjust please.

A New Journey
I’ve tried several different ways to lose weight over the years. I’ve lost weight before, but unfortunately I’ve always ended up putting it back on.
This time, though, genuinely feels different. I’m losing weight, but more importantly, I’m learning to make healthier choices and change my lifestyle. For the first time, I feel confident that I can not only lose the weight, but hopefully maintain it too. ❤️
I was really hesitant about joining Slimming World, but I’m so glad I took the plunge. From the very first session, the whole group has made me feel welcome and supported.
Monica at Plymstock, Plymouth is an absolute inspiration. Her friendly, encouraging approach makes the group sessions something to look forward to, and I would highly recommend her to anyone thinking about joining.
I’m truly grateful to Monica and everyone in the group for all the support, encouragement and motivation they’ve given me so far. It’s the start of a new journey for me, and I’m excited to see where it takes me. ❤️

The best slimming system
I have spent my whole life a bit chubby and trying to lose weight. Slimming world is such a great, easy to follow regime, I am well on my way to goal weight and have changed my whole eating routine and attitude to food. Sharon is amazing and the whole group is so supportive and inspiring. Being with others who have lost loads as well as those who have maintained for years makes it seem so much more achievable.
