TERRIBLE SERVICE. I am not in the habit of leaving reviews normally but I have to warn people not to use this company. they clearly take on more orders than they can process and make no attempt to keep the customer informed. I only got 1st part of my order by chasing for it and now 4 months later I'm still waiting for the rest despite calling again and offering an alternative solution which happened to be in stock. Was told it would be a couple of weeks, and nothing! No emails, phone call no communication other than a generic email because I posted on the Facebook page. Save yourself the agro, pay more, go somewhere else and actally get your timber

i placed an order of larch cladding well in advance after being advised of extended lead times (#166181). unfortunately my delivery date of 2nd September was not met and customer services have not been able to come back with an expected lead time for the delayed delivery. i have tradespeople who require notice to come and fit, and an irate customer who wants their job finishing and don't believe that i am indeed chasing for progress on their behalf.

Placed order on 28 Jul 2020. Over £1000 worth of cladding. Order no #000004413. It’s now 8th September and I still don’t have my items or a delivery date. My project is severely disrupted by this and I’ve now had to release one of my carpenters to another project. I’ve called customer service twice and they don’t seem interested, just stating there is a backlog and I still don’t have a delivery date. Told a manager would call me back but that never happened either. Really disappointed with the service. Hopefully will have an update soon!

Ordered larch cladding for a project. A long lead time was clearly advised of on order and not a problem.
Product arrived and looked great apart from 2 boards. One had a long split in rendering part of it unusable and the other had holes from a wood boring beetle of some sort. I contacted them and they agreed to send out another board. It's a natural product so some issues like this are expected. I've learnt my lesson and will order a bit more in future to allow for this.

Really poor. Much of the wood was not sanded as well as it should have been and we had to re-sand by hand. Some was damaged. Several significant delays on deliveries. Slow to respond and resolve issues with poor communication. Customer service not overly empathetic, a tad defensive. Overall a poor experience for us.

well where do I start, I've just read all the One star reviews and I had the opposite experience, Ok so we waited a while for the timber to arrive and there communication was a bit hit and miss but these are challenging times for most businesses.
some of the sized timber was not in stock so they made up the short fall with twice the amount of other sized timber (at no extra cost to me) the western red cedar it absolutely stunning and the range of shades is perfect(just make sure you mix light and dark randomly) . the larch is very well machined and uniform(didn't waist an inch). I wasn't very impressed with the screws, M10 barrel head screws very flimsy and soon bend under torque and M10 are to small they soon strip.
all in all my experience was good.
I hope you iron out some of your problems, your product is superb.

Excellent customer service, communication and professionalism. Great product. Can’t fault them. Mostly dealt with Laurence but when he wasn’t there everybody else was very helpful. Delivery was great even during covid. Would highly recommend. Had loads of shingles delivered to Devon. Thanks very much

This is the first time I have used this company, I would use them again. Great service from start to finish. I purchased some Yellow Balau and it was of the best quality. They went out of their way to help, from the sales team to the delivery driver.

I placed an order on the 7th July and still waiting for it. I have emailed several times and no reply this is absolutely shocking. The money has been taken from my account on the day I ordered. This will be two months on 8th September? If I do not get a response I will be taking this further.

Great product and service. Very impressed by the quality and consistency of the Siberian larch cladding.

My order was placed on July 8th with a six week lead time and a confirmed delivery date of August 19th. Time was taken to apologise for the over long lead time but this was a firm date.
As an accountant I appreciate more than most how difficult it is doing business in these strange times. 2 emails and 4 phone calls have either been ignored or I have been told its OK - your order is being milled this week / next week? Do you really have a delivery date of August 19th?

I have had to give up my carpenters as I don't want to let people down at short notice - not a practice that Silva work to.

Today I have been told only after I called again that there would be no delivery next week - maybe 3 weeks’ time maybe - they will let me know more in 10 days all because they are extra busy with loads of orders and many people just like me!

Please as consumers, walk away do not order from these people until they have had at least the decency to sort out existing customers - do not believe the updated service standards on their web / Facebook page and if you have only just ordered I would cancel and look elsewhere as you are just into a world of pain!

Honesty and good communication is what I ask and expect and a company that shows some integrity not just chasing the next order and next customer to let down!
Fine for you to say most customers are receiving their orders on time - what are you ACTUALLY going to do about the ones you are letting down - A phone call ? any form of contact - update on a delivery date that will actually happen ? - even communication that their delivery is not arriving would be a start and save customers time and effort !!!!!

My carpenter ordered (2432) my cladding on the 31st May, £1700 worth!! He was emailed on the 3rd June stating delivery would take 3-4 weeks, understandable what with COVID. He called and spoke to the office throughout June but was told another couple of weeks each time. He informed me that he was emailed on July 14th with a delivery date of 11th August. He and i trusted this was going to be delivered. Nothing turnt up on the 11th August, when He called you yesterday he was advised that that this hadn't even been milled yet...is this a joke? Why would you send a delivery date knowing the product isn't even ready?? As a customer i am growing increasingly frustrated now as this is the final part of our project being built for our foster children which we currently can't take due to the project being unfinished and being held up by YOU! We need this right away and i suggest a discount off the money we have spent as a goodwill gesture!

I recently bought larch planks and Sansin SDF wood protection from Silva Timber so that we could make a new fence in part of the garden.
I am delighted with the result and feel confident that the quality of the products will give me a fence that will last for many years to come (probably longer than me).
My order arrived as expected and was exactly what I wanted. I followed the helpful advice that I was given by the company and sanded and then protected the planks with Sansin before building my new fence.

We’re really pleased with the Cedar decking boards we ordered, the delivery was pretty swift especially considering the lock down. We received really good advice on finishing products for the deck and after much deliberation (and quite a few sample pots!) we’re happy we chose to use the Sansin wood finish.
Would certainly recommend and will be using again.

I ordered the Cedar shakes and was informed that there would be a considerable delay in delivery due to the Covid crisis. This did not worry me as I was certain that I needed them and was not relying on meeting specific deadlines. Every effort was made to keep me informed.
Most of the negative remarks revolve around difficult transport delivery experiences, but I suffered no problems. What is positive is the result of laying the roof to my pavilion which now looks fabulous and I am absolutely delighted with the product. Great. Thanks Silva Timber

I ordered £550 of Siberian larch (order number 000003841) for cladding around my home. I was promised a call within 48 hours ( via an email sent by you) to agree delivery date, order placed 7th July. This did not happen so 1 week later I called to find out when it would arrive. I was told that it would be delivered on 27th July, so based on this I booked a carpenter to fit the wood from the 28 - 30. Then the Friday before the product was due to arrive I got a call to say it was delayed, however the sale person was very sorry and would upgrade my courier service to have it with me by 3rd August. The frustrating part was you told me it would be delivered, but cancelled with less than 1 working day. I was subsequently charged a day's work by the carpenter because he was refusing work to do my cladding.
Now it is Friday 31st. My order was promised for Monday, and I've been told it won't arrive again. I have my carpenter ready for Tuesday, which I will be charged again for, and all I have is hollow apologies.

I now cannot believe that it will actually be delivered when you promise and I have been offered nothing for your inability to follow through on your promise.

I absolutely would not have minded if you had said mid August in the first place, but you didn't and now I am being punished for your failure.

My order is relatively small, which is why I have been pushed around so much, but the service has been disappointing nonetheless. I know you are busy, but the small customers end up getting hit with penalties.

Heard nothing for six weeks post order then advised of a delivery date that was missed with no communication. Delivery turned up randomly next day. Several of boards were a completely different colour (like black and white) but Customer Services Manager was totally ambivalent. Looks like we are in for an expensive chequered screen!

Ordered 3 weeks ago, not a peep! E.mailed politely 1 week ago, not even an acknowledgment! Tried to phone (sales) just rings until cut off. Tried accounts "not available right now". Order was taken quickly enough.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
We bought our first planks from Silva and paid for Grade A to avoid unsightly knots- we received wood that contained far more knots than even Grade C shown on their website and in their showroom. We complained about their gross misrepresentation but received no apology.
Sadly we needed further planks to form a matching deck. We collected the planks ourselves. They were wrapped in polythene but it had been torn, water had entered and caused black mould. We assumed it would wipe off . It proved almost impossible to remove despite aggressively sanding the wood. On complaining we were told that our 3 day window to complain had elapsed and “they wouldn't have been sent out like that”. We were being accused of lying! -or fabricating the photo evidence?
In both our dealings with the company the products have not been as advertised- we paid top prices for low quality material. The after sales service was rude and disrespectful.
Deal with this company at your peril.
