Don’t buy from SCS. Worst sofa we have ever had. Bought reclining sofa which has 2 reclining seats but is classed as 3 seater. Day after receiving it the one reclining switch broke. Plus from the start the seats dipped down towards the arms. Eventually got switch sorted and they put a wedge in both seats to bring corners up. It felt ok to start with but a couple of weeks later we were back to same problem with seat dipping down towards the arms. Technician came out. Said he couldn’t put another wedge in. Said I was sitting incorrectly. Apparently we have to sit in centre of cushions even though it is 3 seater. If I sit in centre I can’t reach armrest without leaning to one side. With a back problem this is a no no. So nothing more SCS are willing to do. They have their money so aren’t interested in customer service. Tried ombudsman but SCS have convinced them I am sitting wrong as well. So looks like we are stuck with this substandard piece of rubbish until we can afford another one. Next one will definitely not be from SCS.

Delivery team polite and efficient and very helpful . Staff in store very friendly and pleasant - had couple of issues with lack of communication which was down to not having a mobile number initially but whenever we contacted they were very helpful in sorting.
Would definitely recommend Chesterfield SCS store and we are very pleased with our sofas and chair- thank you.

I would not recommend buying from ScS they do not keep you up to date 3 hours I waited on the phone and they still did not pick up the phone I ordered a rug with my sofa which has not been delivered. The Chesterfield store staff are the worst I’ve ever encounter. I could go on

Previously brought a settee, reclining chair & reclining leather chair. Just had delivered a ‘cuddle’ seat and really pleased with it. All from SCS at Chesterfield.
Delivery men (including Don) were excellent and mindful of causing any mess with shoes etc…. Took all packaging away.
Will definitely use again & advise friends/family to use.

The information/contact with the delivery team was great, however the foot stool has been delivered damaged. Delivery guy has informed yourselves so awaiting a response.

Felt for the delivery team today as they hadn’t been informed about delivery to a first floor flat with little access.

Didn’t seem to be a problem, my sofa was stripped to pieces in the back of the wagon and reassembled in minutes in my flat. Absolutely superb service from David and Stephen. Cheers!

The two delivery young men were excellent- polite, cheerful, respectful of my property.
The SCS sofas are fantastic and the estimated delivery time given on my purchase was spot on.
The only disappointment was that the tracking during delivery did not work from the link given in both email and text. So I was expecting a 2-2.30 delivery which arrived at 6.15 which was fine but please keep the customer informed of progress

I worked for this company some years ago and from minute 1 of starting the job I had never experienced such a hateful and spiteful group of people , I saw first hand the corruption , lies , deceit and tribalism of anyone who worked there from top to bottom .
When I was forced to leave we went to citizens advice and they laughed and pulled out a drawer full of complaints from ex staff and customers alike saying there's no chance of anything going anywhere because everyone looks after each other managers are married or related to customer service or HR representatives , in each store they are inter related or best of mates . People move stores constantly so you can never track down a complaint , absolute joke.....

Fast forward many years and being ready for a sofa my partner fell in love with a new suite and even after my warnings of my experience, and wanting her to be happy and more false promises from the company of how great they were now and how things have changed we went ahead and purchased .....

This was at the begining of the year everything promised and set to go , dated booked , payments sorted happy days ..... Or not .

Fast forward to now and still no sofa , with nothing but excuses and lies , we have been told everything from theres no way we could of bought a sofa on that date , to only half a sofa as arrived , we only ordered half a sofa , only half has been built and shipped . Given promised dates and phone calls which never came , people claiming to be managers when they are not .

Turns out the sofa was never actually ordered in the first place on behalf of the store , so then we get more false promises of phone calls , compensation, delivery dates .... All of which of course never came . Then more and more false promises and lies , then we finally get the alleged store manager who again promises the world and today we would be sat on our new sofa with compensation and no more worries ......

Guess what .....

No phone call , no delivery , nothing , so again we contact the store and the order has not even been processed.

We have made multiple arrangements and had to mess people around all because of this awful company , I have disabilities and am unable to move heavy objects or get around too well so we have arranged collection and paid for our old sofa to be removed , people have taken days off of work to help with the movement of furniture so it's cost them money .

The people we have contacted to remove furniture are fed up now as we keep giving them dates and then having to tell them no sorry .

My partner works in a school and is having to take time out to chase the order up constantly .

I would 100% avoid this company like the plague unless you are absolutely stuck and have no other alternatives to order from here , and if you do ensure you keep copies of absolutely everything, take times names and dates on any interaction you have with the company and still be ready for disappointment.

Great service.Listened to what we wanted then advised us on all the options. Explained the delivery process. The Sofa was delivered exactly on time by two friendly, polite and efficient guys. Very careful in our home too!

Claire bear sold me a wonderful sofa with amazing information and positive attitude. Very happy she’s a star.

The sofa was delivered and it has marks all along the arms and the back rest so not impressed at all. Told by delivery drivers somebody would be in touch within 24 to 36 hours not including the weekend or course and our delivery was on a Friday! Then to top it all the which I didn’t notice till they had gone they have scrapped the step plynth my brand new patio doors. My husband is not happy at all and said why did they not put a blanket over foot threshold. Thinking back I watched them bring it in and the boy who was with the delivery driver was useless and not putting his back into at all. He was trying to lift the sofa by the packaging and of course it kept ripping and dropping!

The delivery was smooth & informed me on when the sofa was being delivered.

Bought a rise and recline chair and reclining sofa from store in chesterfield. The day it was delivered it was instantly noticeable that the chair was unusable. The lumber part stuck far to out and was forcing you to sit forward which obviously is no good. Reported it inshore first thing following day. Rechecked the in store one we tested and two different experiences.
They raised a report for someone to come round.
Head office stated never received it although we watched them send it.
Husband had to use sofa instead but immediately started with a bad rash from any skin that touched sofa.
Had to cover new sofa with blanket!
Inspector came round said can’t do anything about lumber in chair as needs 6 months to bed in, what!!!
Said rash was horrendous and took pictures of rash and blanket covering sofa.
Heard nothing back so rang and was told since no mechanical issue they would not do anything.
Having spoken to trading standards they agree that under the consumer act the sofa was not fit for purpose due to rash.
We legally have 30 days to request a refund or replacement.
We don’t want a refund we want a sofa.
They still say they won’t do anything.
Back to trading standards and citizens advice.

UPDATE

Had a reply and did what they asked knowing what the outcome would be in advance.

THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS AND WILL NOT RECTIFY.

BOTTOM OF EMAIL STATED THIS IS THE LAST COMMUNICATION THEY WILL HAVE WITH US ON THE MATTER!

if you go to this company for a sofa you seriously need your head testing, AVOID!!!

The 2 gentleman that delivered my sofas from SCS were in communication with me all the time. They were polite and friendly when they arrived. Asked if they needed to take their shoes off before entering my house. They took away all the rubbish that was protecting my sofas. I was very happy with it from start to end

Delivery drivers were great, got everything sorted so quickly and super nice. can't fault anything

Extremely happy about the whole experience from ordering to delivery. Delivery men very friendly and efficient.

The guys, Tom and Paul, were brilliant, took our 2 seater sofa and replaced it with a 3 seater . They thought that looking at our door into our lounge,the 3 seater would not go through , but they managed it . Thank you to both of you
