I took my car in to have the brakes fixed, paid £750, the brakes were fixed but now my car looks like a Christmas tree with all the lights on. They say there's nothing they can do and you should go to the Mercedes specialist.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR IN THIS GARAGE, YOUR CAR WILL HAVE MORE PROBLEMS WHEN YOU LEAVE IT.

South Godstone branch is an absolute joke. Overcharged for a timing belt change on a Mini, insisted that only a BMW genuine timing chain kit can be used, and told me an oil change is necessary after a further 1000 miles in order to validate their warranty. I subsequently went to an independent BMW specialist who informed me the work done would cost £500 less than PTA charged, there is no need to have a subsequent oil change done, and BMW do not produce a timing chain kit. Is anything PTA say actually correct?
My advice is to avoid PTA unless you have money to waste.

I had an engine management light come on so I took my car into PTA and asked for a diagnosis ONLY.

Later they called me up while I was at work and told me my car was ready. I was distracted so I stupidly paid the bill over the phone, but realised later that they'd carried out the repair without my authorisation.

I offered to split the difference between the diagnosis cost and the cost of the unauthorised work, which I think is a fair settlement. But they already had my money by that point so they didn't care.

I'm taking my business elsewhere and I suggest everyone does the same.

Went in to get to new tyres at Oxted PTA a couple of days ago. Member of staff (Danny) that I dealt with was extremely rude and intimidating. Needs work on his customer service. I left there feeling very upset and angry at how I had been spoken to.
Have emailed a complaint to Oxted PTA. Will wait and see if I get any response. Its a shame as his bad attitude reflects on the company he is representing.

Booked a brakes check. Lady on reception friendly and polite with a good knowledge of what could happen. Surprised that when I collected the car, the check was free and a thorough report of the condition of the brakes was given to me. Can't complain at all.

Have bad experience of this garage when I paid for work, which I found later, had not been done. I was billed for ‘Laser Wheel Alignment’ following work on my car’s suspension. When I drove the car away from PTA the steering pulled the car to the left and it was obvious there was a problem with the steering alignment. Took the car to another garage to be checked and they found that there was a problem and that PTA had not adjusted the steering alignment. This was shown to me by the alignment adjusters which were still covered in road dirt and had not been disturbed.. The garage gave me video of their findings and the wheel alignment charts. Took the car back to PTA and asked the manager to show me results of their ‘Laser Wheel Alignment’ and he could not because, he said, the equipment did not record results. I showed him the alignment charts which showed that alignment had not been done by PTA. He authorised payment for the work done by the other garage but not my cost at PTA.
I had a previous problem with wheel alignment at PTA when after pothole damage and a new tyre fitting, the car would not run straight. I took the car back to PTA and was told by the manager that it was ‘road camber’. I had the steering alignment fixed by another garage.

I have been visiting this Garage a number of times over the years with my BMW Touring. Lady on main desk i believe Mandy will go the extra mile to help and keep you happy. MOT, Small service, New tyres, always exceptional service from mechanics . Definitely recommend.

This garage is superb. They always manage to fit me in last mintue (normally nail in tyre). From the lady in reception to the mechanics working on cars they are really great

The garage was great and honest with my MOT testing that was wrongly failed by another garage. The staff were most helpful sorted out issues quickly and above all with probity and integrity. Will always use them in the future for my and my families cars.

Never ever end up with this PTA garage! You'll loose a hell lot of money! Think twice before you go there:-(

My car was booked to collect through stop servicing ltd with PTA Garage South Godstone for MOT and full servicing for £18 + £119. We must definitely think twice why they price the low amount for small sized car. There is a trick! Get the car, do the servicing and ending up with £1700. I then asked few things for not to carry out, and still they ended with £719 which I paid now. When I did last year full service, there were no service advisories except the tyres. Over the phone, I've asked them not to repair for £719, do only for full service applicable to the value £119. But the guy I've spoken to, wasn't quite ok and said why they collected my car just for £119. In the service, they mentioned "CHECKED & RENEWED: ANTI-FREEZE (SERVICE
ADVISORY)" for £95, but still they capture "CHECK & RENEW: ANTI-FREEZE (SERVICE
ADVISORY)" in the additional work advised. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!

Have dealt with their Oxted branch for two different cars (Audi and Ford) over several years and found them very helpful and cheaper than some! Perry, Roy, Phil and Pat are just some of the guys that have helped me out and at short notice many a time.
