Wait was well worth it, my desk now sits perfectly in my guest room that I use for my young grandchildren and the lock means it's safe and secure, the desk is very big, so plenty of space to have two laptops and note books , I love it and would definitely buy again

The import and shipping process with Pith & Stem was very disappointing. They quoted a 10% charge for import to the US in the Checkout on their website. They also mention that returns are at the customer's expense, which is not great. Then, when it came to actually importing the desk, the charge was 35% of the total cost and came directly from DHL. So, you are caught in a situation where you will be charged for the return if you don't pay the import fee. This is akin to a bait and switch and was very disappointing. I emailed Pith & Stem about the issue and received no response.

I am very satisfied with my DropTop Classic. The quality is very good and the custom picture makes the desk unique. Pith & Stem customer support is outstanding (a rare luxury these days), they kindly helped me through the customs process and after an unfortunate situation of a damaged desk they quickly made and sent a new one. Highly recommended!

You know this has been a struggle.

They coded my duty wrong- which I didn’t know I would have to pay at the time of purchase. They need to do a better job of making people aware true time if purchase and not just in a page somewhere for you to go find. Anyway, I challenged the duty with DHL and they eventually fixed it from 25% down to 10% (USA). The desk was $1400, shipping $450 and duty/taxes $165.

The desk is incredibly heavy and is packed upside down so you have to turn it over to get the plate out to install. It’s really cute that they think one person could install it all on your own, maybe the very smallest version could but not this one :) My husband has spent many years installing cabinets and it took two of us for this size (dual monitors).

There are some things that could be better……

1. The plate it hangs on (think French cleat) has holes in odd places. There is absolutely no way you want this held by drywall only. US studs are 16” on center and the holes were something like 16 1/2”. Which means we could get two but not the third. So hubs drilled through the plate in a couple places to hit the studs.

2. Cord management could be way better. You will have to buy things to organize your cords as there isn’t anything to keep them out of the way. So they are all stuck to the back wall.

3. Not a big deal, but it would be great if they made all the rectangle ‘cubbies’ accessible for cords to go through ao you could put your hub there and your laptop power box. I bought a sticky holder so they don’t flop around on the shelf and fall.

4. The picture is great but if you try to pull yourself to the desk- holding on to it- it will fall on your legs. And yes, it hurts when it hits your legs. :/

5. It is weird to have this placed on the wall so low to the floor, your brain wants it to be placed much higher for a cabinet/art. I saw someone who was planning one that could go up and down like an ergo desk, that would be a fantastic feature to add.

6. The monitor arms really need the ability to be able to swivel the monitor up and down and they do not, they only go side to side. The attachment to the arm at the back of the monitor makes them angle down just slightly and sadly there is no way to straighten them. I might figure out a way to tape them in place to keep them straight… it is annoying that they touch at the top of the monitors but not at the bottom.

7. They really need to figure out a way to adjust the height of the monitor arms without needing to take the whole thing off the wall. That is just unreasonable. I have an adjustable chair which really helps to work out the small adjustments. Once you get it set up any future adjustment will need to be done with your chair unless you have a strong person who likes to lift heavy things repeatedly while you remove everything, pull it off the wall, move the arms, re hang it, attach the monitors again, sit and see if it works… and repeat.

8. This is melamine. I personally hate melamine, it always makes me think of those junky cheap white kitchen IKEA cabinets, but it is what it is.

9. If you don’t think you will ever need to lock your desk DO NOT THROW OUT THE KEYS. The only way to keep it closed is to lock it. I feel like there could be a much better way to latch it without needing a key.

10. The universal outlets are awful. My plugs won’t stay in unless the cords are attached to the back panel and placed so they don’t move at all. They are weird looking and do not hold the prongs in, they just keep sliding out with the slightest movement, and I keep having to plug them back in. Hubs is an electrician and was mystified at how in the world that is safe. Did they even test that out? Like a real world test?

The desk is fabulous. Exactly what they promised: folds out into a really spacious desk; folds away on the wall at the end of the day. It feels pretty sturdy and the quality seems of a high standard - though I'm not going to try standing on it!

The customer service was excellent. We opted for our own image and we were entirely blown away by the result.

In short, great company, great product. Recommended.

Pith & Stem built a beautiful murphy desk that adds functionality to my office-slash-guestroom. The first attempt was damaged in transit. Pith & Stem were helpful on the phone and made sure I received a replacement quickly - much faster than I expected. I love my new Pith & Stem DropTop.

I ordered a DropTop after working from a regular desk for almost 4 years. I loved this option since it meant I didn’t need to have my bulky desk anymore. The installation process took a bit but was pretty streamlined since they sent all the hardware needed with! I have had it for about a month now and am in love with how easy it is to clean up my desk after work and it doesn’t even look like a desk on my wall! Would highly recommend!

I paid $2,894.57 for a custom DropTop desk on July 9, 2026. As of October 18, fourteen weeks and three days later, I still have no desk.

This desk represented two years of saving and sacrifice. I took on extra food-delivery work, putting in early mornings, late nights and longer days to set the money aside. It was tiring, repetitive work, and I passed up outings with friends, family trips and vacations to keep saving. I had pictured finally having this desk in my home for so long. What hurts most is that, after all that work and waiting, I still don’t have it.

Pith & Stem told me the desk was expected to ship by September 18. After that date passed, I had to chase for updates. The company escalated the order and dispatched it on September 24, six days later than expected. It subsequently acknowledged that it should have communicated the delay proactively rather than leaving me to request updates.

The shipment then encountered customs-documentation problems. I spent considerable time going back and forth with DHL and Pith & Stem, receiving conflicting explanations about what was missing and who had responded. On October 15, a DHL supervisor confirmed in writing that the Lacey Act revision referral had been made in error, that the original form contained the information, and that the shipment had been released and was at the delivery facility.

That morning, Pith & Stem had promised in writing to arrange a priority replacement at no additional cost. Later the same day, its Founder and Director cancelled the order. He subsequently confirmed that the company would not proceed with either the original order or the replacement, saying it did not believe it could provide the experience I expected.

When I asked what contractual provision justified cancellation, he wrote: “We have not relied on a cancellation term in our terms and conditions.” On October 16, he also instructed DHL not to deliver the shipment.

I even asked whether I could place a new order or whether a future order would also be cancelled. Although he confirmed that the original order and promised replacement would not proceed, he did not clearly answer my question about reordering.

At different stages, the company offered a £50 partial goodwill refund, reimbursement of the original shipping cost, and a separate $100 goodwill payment. My priority remained receiving the desk. When offered the shipping reimbursement, I replied: “I appreciate the offer to reimburse the original shipping cost. My main priority is making sure I actually receive the desk.” The monetary offers did not resolve my concern about getting the product I had ordered.

I repeatedly requested delivery and did not agree to cancellation or request a refund. Nevertheless, the company told me it had processed a full refund, including shipping, on October 16.

By October 18, my correspondence with Pith & Stem and DHL totaled nearly 60 individual emails, excluding automated notifications. Despite that extensive correspondence, I still had no desk.

I also contacted the company through Instagram while waiting for responses to emails about my order. I later found that my account had been blocked. This added to my frustration with the communication throughout the process.

For me, the most disappointing part was the leadership response: a written replacement commitment was withdrawn after weeks of delays and chasing. I expected clear communication and follow-through, not cancellation of the product I had waited and saved so long to receive.

I am now preparing a formal letter before claim concerning the refusal to fulfil the order. I cannot assess the desk’s quality because I never received it. My one-star rating reflects the ordering, delivery and customer-service experience. Based on this experience, I would urge anyone considering an order to look carefully at how delivery problems and customer complaints are handled.

C’est face a lot of issues:
- parts are not in correct dimension: I had to ask new parts and it took long time to explain and then to get the replacement parts.
- bad specifications for the parts delivers with half of components delivered.

It seems I received “refurbished” materials. Not as it was expected.

The concept of the product is good however the product and service delivered is not as the normal expected level

Product ordered end of July, it will be operational in November…

Delighted with my purchase. The quality is exceptional. My first experience with a Pith & Stem desk and not disappointed.

Informed of a long lead time when purchasing and delivered to the day predicted.

So, good quality desk delivered by a good quality company.

WFH foldable desk is perfect and fulfill all the needs. The customisation take the product to another level. I enjoy working. 😉

Drop Top desk - curved monitor modification: My drop top desk arrived in wonderful packaging, all cardboard and easily recycled. The desk is quite sturdy and the metal mounting cleat has holes spaced for a 16" on center wall and holds the desk securely. I noticed a few discussions surrounding curved monitors not fitting. I did make an adjustment to my set up where I created a mounting bracket cutout in the back of the desk so that I could mount the bracket on the wall within the enclosed desk. Works wonderfully. I may have missed it, but this could be a cool custom requested feature? We did just fine using a jig saw and router to smooth the edges. All is hidden behind the monitor.

This desk is simple but great. It folds away well and is a great improvement to my earlier desk.

However, the Extendable Monitor Mount is a disappointment. I might have gotten a bad one but the last horisontal axis, the one that closest to the screen is to stiff and there is no way to loosen it. The other axes have bolts that makes them possible to adjust but the third one does not have that possibility as there is no bolt to loosen.

I LOVE my desk (DropTop Single 34 Lite). I ended up opting for the cheaper lite version because they are expensive, but the quality is definitely there. Somethings that would have helped me: 1) read the emails that come after you order. The assembly instructions are online, not in the box. 2) if you order outside of the UK, I am in the USA, I had to pay tax before they would deliver. Not a big deal, I just didn't read that part. 3) Put the cam locks in place before you assemble, they are nearly impossible to put in after the sides are together because the build quality is tight, not loose like cheap furniture. 4) the locking part....that was the hardest part to figure out how to get right and it still takes a awhile to get it to latch and lock. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but you have to lock it to keep the desk from dropping.

If you don't have room for a desk, I highly recommend these desks!!!! I wish I could post pictures, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.

9 weeks waiting for my order and it came with an incorrect piece which was manufactured inverted. Very slow response from customer care. Still waiting.

We selected a beautiful photograph of our daughter sitting by a lakeshore for our Drop Top, and the team cleaned up the image to absolute perfection. It arrived so beautifully presented that we couldn't stop admiring it straight out of the box.

Now hanging on our wall, it brings us joy at the end of each workday—we're no longer confronted with our workspace and endless to-do lists.

While the Drop Top is certainly an investment, we truly believe it's worth every single penny. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

just honestly not enough value for money, it's made literally from the same material as any other cheap flatpack you find at ikea; except at ikea you'd spend 80 as opposed to 500

Absolutely love my new Drop Top! Exactly as I envisioned it. Beautiful design, excellent quality, and a huge upgrade for my apartment and home office.
