"I am beyond fuming. I’ve been paying my premiums for years, and the one time I actually need them for a legitimate claim, they find every underhanded excuse to deny it. They claimed my dog's condition was 'pre-existing' because of a completely unrelated vet note from two years ago.
It's clearly a tactic so they don't have to pay out. Disgraceful company that doesn't care about your pet's health, only their profit. Save your money and go with a provider that actually has a soul."

Renewed again for Perfect Pet insurance. Premiums are going up for everything but PP do what they can to reduce premiums whilst providing a good service. Helpful staff who listen to you.

Very efficiently dealt with

I have had insurance for my pet for many years and have only made one small claim , relative to the premiums, which I would say was not handled with a satisfactory outcome, far from it. Only approximately a third of the claim was paid out and that was after an inordinate amount of time expended by me in the claims process as documents were not forwarded internally to the claims department and I had to chase and rechase and exclusions and small print being applied to the claim.
My vet had prescribed one particular type of tablet as a medicine , Samylin, due to a liver issue at that time …this tablet was not allowed as it was said it is a supplement which are disallowed by the policy .My vet wrote to perfectpet insurance and explained why this had been prescribed to no avail. Surprisingly the cheap tablet was also partially disallowed as apparently the mark up was too much. I did ask for the list of prices that are acceptable but there is not a list which the policy holder can have before costs are incurred.
I have also raised a complaint which took two months without a satisfactory outcome.
One comment many people say how helpful with setting up policy , price comparatively with other companies, changing address , helpful friendly staff but when you have paid out thousands of pounds in premiums, currently at £52 a month for a dog who is nearly 9 , the proof of the pudding comes from what happens when you make a claim that is the real test of the insurance policy.
I have completely zero confidence now so I have made the decision to cancel but of course now I have the issue re balance of the term .
Since my unsuccessful outcome I have now read other people’s reviews of their claims experiences with interest ( after the horse has bolted one may say !) but if you are looking at this you may chose to do the same . I have decided to keep my monthly premiums to one side to 100% go towards meeting costs that I may have to incur as I now have no way of knowing what part, if any, will be met by the policy or more importantly confidence in the product.
I have given 1 star as can’t give zero !

Yes I am awaiting to hear re my second complaint to this company re cancellation given all the circumstances above and lack of confidence. The last one took 8 weeks without dealing with issues etc so let’s see . No doubt it will take them that long so they can effectively take another 3 payments as my direct debit to them has gone today . I will update my post as and when

Will answered my call to Perfect Pet and he was amazing. Will found my details quickly and discussed the process for claims. He listened to me ramble on about my dog's condition and offered advice about online websites such as hyperdrug? that I could check out for my dog's medication. The customer support from Will was really kind and informative and I'm so happy as I've been having quite a stressful time thinking about my dog's condition. So I really appreciated Will taking the time today to help me out.
