One of the worst insurance companies i have ever come across in my whole life!! i renewed my insurance with them and 2 months later i couldn't change anything on my policy on my online account couldn't add or remove drivers or change my car or personal details so rang them up and they told me my policy is 'broken' and i asked what does that mean they said even we cant do anything on your policy it wont let us so they referred me to upper hand and kept me on hold for 45minutes for them to repeat the same thing and still never gave an explanation as to why my insurance policy is 'broken' and the cheek of them they cancelled my insurance without telling me and then said i owe them cancellation fees.. i could go on but never again i will insure any car with peoples choice! people be aware they are scammers and just mess you around!

Would be zero star if possible. You think you will go with a cheaper insurer so long as you don’t need to claim it shouldn’t be a problem. However, I only needed to change my vehicle and they wouldn’t let me. Something about the new car not being fit for my policy. I mean, most insurers would be ok with it and just tweak your policy. Think about it, everyone needs to change their car at some point, and it’s not always (if ever) going to fall in line with the end of the policy, so it’s most likely going to be midway through. What utter scumbags. They know this, and they do whatever they like to grab more money out of you. They said they could do me a new policy but it was £400 more expensive. The cheek! Don’t ignore these reviews. Stay well away from people’s choice and Hastings!

been with them 2 years and been excellent. changed my car twice with very small fee. insurance been relatively cheap. 3rd renew coming up in july and hoping they keep bringing it down

be zero stars if option over 2 months down the line car still await repairs at steer automotive group now wrong bumper bearing in mind paying a fortune for insurance and no company car supplied either really bad service do yourself a favour avoid at all costs I'm over a thousand pounds in insurance with no car also call handlers understanding of English not very good either frustrating having spent over hour on call to spell every word out need competent staff when dealing with claims caused me a lot of inconvenience

Stay away from this scambag company people. They sent automatically renew letter on 6th February 2023 which I received on 20th February 23! Said they renew my insurance on 4th February 23 at £836.51! Last year I paid £518.54 almost double my policy with no claim as well! I quickly rang them to cancelled as I just received letter they said we sent you an email which I explain not everyone check email daily and the letter should of arrived month early before renew! They replied it your responsible to be check email etc! Also charge me over £100 for these two weeks that they did renew without me knowing it! It big scambag don’t ever go with Hastings insurance or people Chiice very bad customer service and try to scam you for sure. I will report to consumer helpline and anyone having similar problems please do. Don’t let them tricking your friends family or grandparent like this. Littery sent letter after renew policy! They do this in purpose renew first then informed you and made excused we sent you an email which as I said if you lose your email log in or not often inactive like me you will be their victim right away.

Very disappointing . Can't log into online account - log in doesn't exist . I had no notification of renewal ( it's a good thing that I keep on top of policies) so I phoned them. Quoted a high renewal price which would have automatically renewed without them notifying me .. shocking tactics !

We've been members since PCCU opened as Savings and Loans and were generally satisfied, especially phone response time here in Adelaide. Since a few mergers the economies of scale haven't materialised and you can wait ages to speak with a human which can cost a bit if calling from overseas on a mobile. I left two callback requests today after waiting half an hour listening to banal messages.

Similar to the other reviews on here I got a renewal notice of approx. £400 extra – a 60% increase compared to last year despite nothing changing and no claims etc. A quick check on a price comparison website and I found it over £400 cheaper than their renewal price.

The website is beyond useless and I had to call to cancel the automatic renewal. The operator I spoke to simply refused to cancel my renewal without firstly wanting to know details of the cheaper price I found online via the price comparison site. I kindly and politely declined to provide these details as it was none of their business and would they please cancel my request as I have requested.

Once again, the operator refused to cancel and said before “we” cancel “we” need to consider all the options. Err who is WE in this?! I’m the one paying and I have considered my options so cancel as I have requested.

I lost count the number of times I asked nicely for my renewal to be cancelled , every request to cancel was met with “allow us quote and can you confirm the price you have received so I can check” – despite the fact I explicitly and blatantly stated I wanted to cancel the renewal numerous times, over and over.

In the end after about 20 minutes the operator agreed to cancel the renewal but not without claiming his system was slow and attempting to make small talk to extract more information.

If it’s this difficult trying to cancel a renewal you can only imagine if God forbid you have to make a claim and deal with this horrendous company! Even if they were the cheapest on a price comparison site I would rather pay the extra and take my business elsewhere than having to deal with this bunch.

Avoid this organisation as they simply do not listen and purposely make it difficult for you to leave their grasp. Disgusting customer service and they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and the behaviour of their staff. If I could award 0 or minus stars I would. You have been warned! Stay well away guys!

Absolutely TERRIBLE company, is zero stars an option??? Got an email a month before my automatic renewal quoting me £160 extra for the next year's insurance, despite 7 years NCD, zero accidents, zero changes to the policy, nothing! I tried to cancel automatic renewal online as I had found much cheaper elsewhere and it said I needed to call someone, I called and they put me on hold for for 10 minutes whilst they "worked out" how they could match the other quotes... they came back and said I'd made changes to the policy in the year so the price had gone up... but I hadn't. I questioned this and they then went away to "look" and could see that I hadn't. They then knocked £30 off the annual price... still miles more expensive than other quotes. I said no I just want to cancel, they requested I "pondered their offer" and call them back at a later date. I called back 5 minutes later to cancel the auto-renewal, where I was put on hold for 25 minutes, at which point they came back with another £30 knocked off, working out still as £100 more than last year and £100 more than other providers. I said no I'd like to cancel the auto-renewal, they put me on hold AGAIN to double check final offers. Finally after 5 tries to cancel the auto-renewal in one phone call, he accepted it. Rubbish company, rubbish staff, they just want more money from you and don't listen to what you say. Do not get a policy with them unless you want to be ripped off and pi**ed off.

A simple claim turned into a nightmare. Utterly appalling in every aspect topped off with passive aggressive rudeness. Avoid at any cost.

Paid £2.5k first year driving (new driver age 19)

Then got renewal quote for £2.6k (1 year no claims, age 20)

I don’t know how they can charge more I did not claim or anything. However when I rang up to cancel the person at customer service was quick to say she could bring it down more I just stopped her and told her not to bother.

Never had a single conversation with this mob over the course of my policy, no claims no change’s nothing. Receive my renewal quote and it’s increased by £500 pa?! Then I called and they had the audacity to try and negotiate, shysters. Shop around at renewal time because these are obviously resting on people who don’t. Rip off merchants got paid fully for no service one year and wanted more money for nothing the next year.

Very bad company, they don't mind money for damage to the car! We need to do everything through the court! The service is the worst! Insurance prices change every week!

Dont do the right thing! I did and now have no car and no courtesy car, 'Peoples Choice', when you get through, not interested.

Rubbish. Claim 17 June car damaged. Refuse to get car fixed, even if I have comprehensive insurance. Avoid. Rude people. They pass your claim to third party which is handling your claim. No responding to emails. They hung up the phone. Don't buy insurance from them. Rip off.

They quoted me an increase on last year's car policy, so I told them not to renew. I've now received an email to say they have renewed, and I need to pay the outstanding amount.
They're quite hard to get hold of, it usually involves a long wait in a phone queue.
I'm going to leave them crap reviews on sites like this and social media.

Inexperienced staff who have no knowledge of car insurance !!
I had a policy with this company,bought a new car and tried to change the policy over to the new car for the remaining 3 months,was given the wrong advice which cost me a £45 cancellation fee. The advisor was willing to argue with me that his colleague was right..

I would think twice about using these people. I have been with them for a while now and when it come to renewing my policy the cost had increased dramatically and so I went on line and got a much more reasonable quote which I quoted to them and asked them to match but rather than match the quote they accused me of putting different information on line to get a lower quote. I was shocked and went back on line to check the information which should they were taking rubbish. I complained and then asked them to honour the quote I had but because so much time had elapsed the quotes we’re coming in higher. They did not honour the quote but concealed my renewal and I ended up paying a lot more than I would of done. I will renew this review once I have received a answer to my complaint.
N.B they are at it again this year increased my insurance by over £300 in the middle of a cost of living crisis when I have had no crashes or claims. If I get a cheaper quote online, I will take it I will not ask these crooks to match it.

I’ve paid People’s choice car insurance for new policy before discovering I could get the same from another company for £100 less and cancelled the policy and asked for a refund, they told me they would only refund to the card on the system which is no longer active, I told them I wanted it refunded on the card I paid for the new policy with, they said it would take four weeks to receive the refund or they would issue a cheque, again I told them it was paid instantly via a card and should be refunded instantly to the same card, they are basically hanging onto my money to earn interest for as long as possible before refunding me, absolutely disgraceful behaviour, would never use again and certainly would not recommend using them.

I renewed my insurance with this company, studiedly never checking the reviews, only been with them a few weeks and regret my decision. They contacted me to check my mileage, I told them I was happy with what I had put as I don’t use the car like I used to. Without my consent they’ve upped my mileage and charged with a admin fee. Definitely will not renew or use them again. DISGUSTING SERVICE! Wouldn’t give 1 star !
