I BOUGHT A (ONKEE-YO) TX-NR696 2 YRS AGO (REFURBISHED) AND WHEN I RECEIVED IT I DIDN'T HOOK IT UP UNTIL MY KLIPSH SPEAKERS CAME IN 35 DAYS LATER -WHICH WOULD COME BACK TO BITE ME IN THE BUTT , HARD! (ALWAYS PLUG IN AND TRY ELECTRONICS IMMEDIATELY WHEN YOU RECIEVE THEM)!! BECAUSE AFTER THE 30 DAYS IT HAS TO BE SENT OFF TO THEM FOR REPAIR! SO WHEN I TURNED IT ON FOR THE FIRST TIME IT WOULDN'T EVEN GET OUT OF STANDBY MODE! SO I CALLED ONKYO AND A SALESMAN TRIED HELPING ME GET IT TO WORK WITH NO PREVAIL. Don't trust their reps
Onkyo sales Rep gave me false information that cost me 3 hours of my time including gas for 2 hours of driving. Their staff is poorly trained and have little knowledge of their products

Just called Onkyo support as my AV Receiver stopped working. Not only did he not have nay suggestions but he would not advise on any thoughts I had.For me .... the worst experience EVER with tech support.
Frage nie nach dem Service Vor fünf Jahre kaufte ich mir einen…
Vor fünf Jahren kaufte ich mir einen Onkyo Receiver mit und das war mir wichtig, USB - Anschluss. Zu Anfangs ging auch alles gut. Das Gerät erkannte den USB - Stick und funktionierte wunderbar. Jedoch, genau lieber Leser jetzt kommts, das Gerät erkennt keinen USB Stick mehr. Der Receiver machte mir eine lange Nase.
Kurzum ich kontaktierte den entsprechenden Service und schilderte das Problem mit der Bitte um Information wie man das wieder, eventuell über ein Reset, herstellen ließe, oder, ob sich der USB Anschluss ins Nirvana verabschiedet hätte. Schnell mit der Antwort waren sie ja gewesen, jedoch die Antwort war schon etwas merkwürdig, um nicht zu sagen ausgesprochen frech.
Zu Gute muss man ja auch fairer halber sagen, dass die Information ein sogenanntes "factory reset" beinhaltete, doch dies, und jetzt kommt es, man muss es zitieren: "Wenn diese Funktion (gemeint ist wohl die USB Funktion) für Sie unverzichtbar ist ..ggf. eine Servicewerkstatt aufsuchen..."!
Ich weiß nicht, was zwischen den Ohren dieses Service- Mitarbeiter sitzt, aber eine Masse mit der man denken kann, wohl nicht unbedingt. Ja warum kauft man sich ein Gerät mit einem USB Anschluss, damit man, bei gegebener Zeit darauf verzichten kann. Fällt jetzt noch der Tuner aus, na dann kann man ja auch eventuell verzichten.
Man gewinnt den Eindruck, das man als Kunde nur als die melkende Kuh willkommen ist. Doch kommt ein Problem auf, wird der Kunde zur unerwünschten Person deklariert und mit dummen Sprüchen abgetan.
Onkyo hat mich auch gesehen, dank, dem überaus zuvorkommenden Service-Mitarbeiter.

SKIPS SKIPS SKIPS, Customer service gives you the run around, so they don't have to warranty their products. I'll never buy an onkyo product again. Customer service wants to fix it over the phone.What a joke

After 5 weeks, the receiver stopped working.Onkyo customer service policy is that I must pay for shipping to authorized repair facility 400 miles away
No replacement, no refund allowed on a defective product is ridiculous ! Onkyo has many complaints regarding durability of their products, obviously you are taking a gamble when purchasing Onkyo products

Despite owning a very expensive AV receiver and amp it was hardly used. It now won’t switch on and impossible to repair.
Onkyo = COMPLETE GARBAGE - STAY AWAY
Purchased less than two years ago and while watching a movie I could smell wires burning. Within in a few seconds the receiver went into safe mode. Watched every youtube video available!! No luck!! I've owned many other brand receivers. Never had problems but upgraded each time. I will make sure to spread this news on every social platform available!! GARBAGE!!!!

Das war das letzte mal das ich ein Onkyo Kaufe nach 2 1/2 ist das Netzteil Kaputt gegangen also hab ich den Receiver zu Onkyo geschickt zur Reparatur 3 Wochen Später habe ich einen Anruf bekommen die Können das Netzteil nicht Tauschen weil es nicht mehr Produziert wird und sie auch keine mehr auf Lager haben bei einen Receiver der nicht mal 3 Jahre Alt ist und es keine Ersatzteile mehr gibt ist schon ein Armutszeugnis und als Danke schön habe ich noch eine Rechnung bekommen von 60 Euro Fürs nach Schauen Abwohl ich gesagt habe das Netzteil ist kaputt absolute Frechheit

Mensonge, absence de suivi, mauvaise foi, aucun service client et mépris total.
Plusieurs mois d’immobilisation de mon ampli ONKYO, on se fait jeter à chaque fois qu’on relance.
Caisson arrive abîmé mais rejet sur le transporteur, comme par hasard les dommages sont irrévocables (prise d'alimentation cassée).
Le produit a été emballé par mes soins, protégé et dans un carton adapté.
Une prise cassée pendant le transport (impossible)
Le produit ne passe donc pas en garantie.
Si vous voulez une bonne gestion SAV, passez votre chemin. Avis confirme par d’autres victimes (sur google avis par exemple)
Pour récupéré mon produit endommagé par leurs soin je devait régler 100€.

Ordered week ago, was not even sent.
Customer centre, is useless. Talking to them is like talking to the wall.
If you have time for weeks or months to wait for your delivery it is company for you.

Pünktlich nach Ablauf der Garantie quittierte das Wlan-Modul des Receivers den Dienst.
Wie ich später herausfand ist dies eine Kinderkrankheit der Receiver, die eine Rückrufaktion hervorgerufen hat.
Allerdings wurde ich weder auf diese aufmerksam gemacht, noch kann ich sie in Anspruch nehmen, da sie abgelaufen ist.
Seltsam, wenn man bedenkt, dass der Receiver nur etwas mehr als zwei Jahre alt ist.
Auf meine Supportanfragen kam nach über zwei Monaten Wartezeit noch immer keine Antwort.
Fazit: Nie wieder Onkyo!!!

I've had a Onkyo receiver for less than 2 years and it's broken twice the first time it took over 4 months to have it fixed and now the HDMI board has gone and I can't find anyone in Canada to help me honour their 2 year warrenty I just keep getting the run around. all their phone numbers don't work from what I understand they are in bankruptcy or near bankruptcy and I'm out over $1400 I can't even pay to get parts in Canada

Fine until it breaks - then you'll never see it
I have an Onkyo A9010 amplifier. Or I did.
It developed a fault 8 months after purchase. I contacted the point of purchase who said "contact Onkyo".
I did. They do not have a UK customer service centre, channelling everything through Germany.
They advised me to contact one of their 3 listed UK service centres, who I must say were excellent up front. They are independent of Onkyo.
They collected the item free of charge, and tested it, and found a fault. They reported this to Onkyo for authorisation of repair/replacement.
And Onkyo haven't replied. For more than eight weeks.
I chase this with the service centre and am told "we are still waiting for Onkyo to reply". I tried contacting Onkyo: they have not replied to me either.
I've tried to escalate, but everyone points to "waiting on Onkyo".
I'm forced to raise a case with Consumer Direct to enforce my rights to a refund for a faulty item.
I will never, ever buy Onkyo again. Great when it works, horrendous when it breaks.
Save your stress levels.
I wouldn't even give them one star for their appalling service, but TrustPilot forced me to.
Don't buy a brick
Onkyo had several years when they produced AV Receivers with faulty HDMI boards. They made an effort to make amends with those customers that came forth with their issues and had an extended replacement program.
Nice and dandy!! Well, my unit died after their extended replacement program ended. I called and emailed and received quick responses but they pretty much said oh well. I was never notified that my unit was one of the affected ones nor were anyone else.
There should have been a recall on the units not an oh well lets just skim by and replace the product when for people that know about the issue.
Terrible handling of something that was a known and big big issue. Do a search for "Onkyo No Sound" and will get a lot of hits.
Proceed with Caution particularly if you are buying a used av receiver.
