Used to be good, but now I constantly get verification failures, or screened out. Seriously thinking of giving up.

Being screened out often after many questions . Nearly all surveys capture a lot of information from you (sometimes after 5 minutes of answering questions) then at the end say you're screened out or the quota is full. It just seems super scammy and a way of capturing survey data without actually paying.

I've tried a bunch of different sites for online surveys in Australia, and have found this to be the best so far. No- you're not going to make a TON of money- but this isn't a full-time job, you're sitting on your couch answering surveys. They have the best pay rates I've found, will directly transfer to your bank account, and generally, I have no issues (even if it's slightly annoying when I'm screened out, it's not at the fault of the company, and they still pay a few cents for attempting)!

On surface their surveys pay out is high in monetary terms but the failure rate is also extremely high. 9 out of 10 counts being screened out for 'validation issues' or other reasons. They claim that if the members are members of other survey platforms, their 'clients' as the 'original' survey conductors will screen out 'duplications' because they check our IP addresses. Point is, they rarely direct people to any many genuine original market surveys that are exclusive to them. Most of the time, they just routed people to other rewards market surveys platforms and when this happens, the members meet dead end walls of 'validation' issues or 'technical issues' or 'screen out' or 'security' issues. It is unrealistic to expect people only being a member of one single rewards pay platforms.

Seems legit at first (they'll give you a couple of dollars for the first survey you do to make you think you'll be paid each time) then for every survey afterwards, you spend 2-15 minutes answering questions and suddenly it ends and it tells you 'we've reached out quota for this survey' or 'thank you but you don't qualify for this survey'- after you have spent time answering their questions. They get their answers and market feedback without having to give participants any money, stating that you aren't eligible... don't bother, huge waste of time. I have completed 15-20 surveys and not been paid for a single one (except the first one I did), have spent too much time answering questions and giving them feedback for nothing.

Waste of time. I was CONSTANTLY screened out and this does not happen with other similar companies

Rubbish. Have attempted dozens but get halfway through and then rejected from the survey because I don't meet whatever demographic they're after. Only successfully completed 1 or 2 for like 70c. No reward for getting booted just wasted time. Boo-urns! 👎

I have had Octopus for about a month now and had earned about $50 on my account. However I had some issues with my mobile provider that I had signed up to Octopus with. So then I sent in a request to change my number to my husbands temporarily, while I sorted out mine. They said that was alright and when it was done, about 2 hours later when I logged back in it said "Your account does not exist." Then I messaged Octopus to enquire about what happened, that's when they asked me for my details (ID and so on), which is understandable. But then they say after a week (after I contacted them) that they will not be unsuspending my account. I don't understand what I have done wrong? So I would appreciate it if Octopus can sort it out.

I've earned $1,435 from Octopus in the 3.5 years I've been doing surveys with them. That speed of earning has been increasing and I've earned $490 in the past 6 months. That's all survey incentives BTW, though I understand you can get up to $20 from each person you refer. This is a legitimate company, and as far as I can tell, one of the best payers in this category. You're not going to rich doing surveys, but there are worse ways to fill in some spare time.

I have made a little bit of money, about $90 doing surveys with this company and have done surveys on a few topics I am passionate about. I would recommend this company if you want a little bit of pocket money doing something at home. Don't expect to make a lot of money though. This company always pays, they're definitely not a scam.

This survey company promotes itself as the best online paid survey company in Australia but being with them for the past 1 month, I am doubting that claim. Most of the surveys I have tried to answer always get quota filled even though I've only received the notification email within 10 minutes. Also, you can start answering the survey and halfway, you can get "quota filled" or "does not fit the criteria". The time to answer estimation is completely inaccurate as well. 10 min survey? More like 20-30 mins (especially if you try to answer as accurate as you can). In the 1 month I've been with them, I've only claimed a single $50 gift card. Which is not bad if you have the time to actively wait for an email or catch the survey on time AND if you have the spare time.

Signed up to Octopus and have earned $27 so far on a number of surveys. Referred my partner and he has made $67 on surveys... why is this???

Have just joined up and have already had more surveys than any other site , really recommend it enjoying myself 🙂

I used this place to do surveys for close to two years. I literally went from doing heaps of surveys a month to none in months because I just get screened out. Was alright while it lasted but I'm not wasting my time just to get screened out for EVERY single survey.

Some trouble with the surveys I could have had over $20 by now but 2 or 3 of the surveys did not load on the laptop at all and they did load on my phone very annoying Ive had some decent amounts but missed out on them

I have earned $39 in the last 4 months. There are some annoying things like you get screened out, but that is every survey company. I earned almost $10 a month, in the last 4 months and I am not quick to get on to the surveys. Usually I do them when I am having a cup of coffee, on average they take 20 mins, some more, some less and it pays well for each survey. I tried a few different survey sights and octopus is by FAR the best!

Overall, the amount per survey is great for the time spent, it's much higher than a lot of other providers and I get enough to claim $20 a week. Though, can I suggest, the claiming is pretty substandard. Only because my phone is cooked and text messages sometimes don't send (again, my phone, my problem, but its inconvenient). Might I suggest a two factor authentication where I get an sms and put in the code.
Other than that, they're pretty great.
Update: Changing to 4 stars because overall the amount of surveys and amount per servey is fantastic.

I can't log into my account, when I tried to reset my password, it says that my account is unsubscribed! I have 22$ to redeem, is it some kind of scam or what??

Replying to your reply: I have 4 different numbers, why can't I create an account! also, each account is handled by each member of my family! How does it create a problem!?

I just got screened out / kicked out of a survey, mid-survey. It's disappointing because I gave them my time and my answers were 'successfully recorded' but I have not been paid. It's a waste of time. No guarantees.
