Excellent from start to finish
Excellent from start to finish, had a lovely stay at a beautiful cottage in south west Scotland. Everything was clean and tidy and could have wished for a nicer setting.

Brilliant location,shops and area…
Brilliant location,shops and area fantastic , nice touch with having tea coffee & milk on arrival. the property is in much needed of a refurbishment, lots of stains on carpets and sofas ,dirty cooker , very dusty not been cleaned for a good month cobwebs everywhere lots of light bulbs not working , blinds didn't work on bedrooms and livingroom, garden a right mess with broken fence panels back gate hanging off,broken fridge freezer very unkepted property, should of stayed 2 nights but could only do the one .

I booked an accommodation 13/11.booking…
I booked an accommodation 13/11.booking paid. A couple of minutes I received an email confirming my booking. An email for instructions was emailed as well. The following day. I was sent an email that my booking was cancelled due to the owner cannot accommodate us on the dates that we picked. Not only that. I have to wait a week to have my money refunded. Now I have to wait for my money to become available before I can book another accommodation. I'm very disappointed!

I’m truly sorry to hear that your booking was cancelled, and I completely understand your disappointment.
As listing agents, the availability shown to us comes directly from the property managers we work with. At the time of your booking, these dates would have appeared as bookable based on the property managers calendar dates.
Unfortunately, we have no control over these dates or the cancellation of bookings. I would suggest contacting the property manager directly, as they may be able to provide more information about why this booking could not go ahead.

My booking went through and deposit paid to receive an email shortly after saying it wasn’t available as fully booked.

To explain further, we act primarily as listing agents, which means the availability of our listing are managed by the agents we work alongside.
At the time of booking, these dates were available, which is why you were able to proceed with your reservation. However, on rare occasions, property owners may cancel a booking, and unfortunately, this is something beyond our control.
If you contact the agent managing your booking, they’ll be able to provide more information about the reason for the cancellation.
In the meantime, if you reach out to our team on 0203 637 0812, we’d be happy to help you find a suitable alternative accommodation.

Using map I found it slightly awkward
Found the map slightly awkward when moving around.
(Maybe an age thing!)
Once booked everything was very straightforward and information sent was clear and helpful.

Booked for a weekend in December
Booked for a weekend in December , in error I booked 2026 rather than this year
Contacted immediately the hosts who kindly offered me a refund , yet 2 weeks later ignoring messages and emails from booking.com
I’m giving them 15 months notice , so sadly I will not be able to take my grandkids to the Cambridge Xmas market and will have to wait 15 months ! Bitter taste left by this host
