I contacted customer service due to the base of my watering can being blown therefore it won’t stand up. I have purchased many tools from Kent & Stow previously and not had a problem but based on the quality of the watering can and the poor level of customer service I rate this company 1 star. No where does it mention the watering can only has a 13 month guarantee and more importantly I’m not sure which gardener expects to purchase a watering can annually. Very disappointing, needless to say I won’t he purchasing anymore tools

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I would like to start by apologising that you experienced an issue with your watering can, particularly as you have previously had positive experiences with our tools.
Regarding the warranty, unless otherwise stated, all of our products come with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. If a manufacturing fault arises within this period, we will of course arrange a replacement. Although your item falls outside of this timeframe, we do review cases individually and are always happy to consider goodwill solutions where appropriate.
We have already responded to your original email to request a few details so we can arrange a replacement for you. As soon as we receive the information requested, we will be happy to proceed.
We value feedback of all kinds and always aim to resolve genuine concerns as efficiently as possible.

Stainless steel blade snapped
Sadly, within the first week of using it, the lower blade snapped off the stainless steel.
Had been using it to edge grass and the front of the house, and unfortunately snapped off at the lower base.

This K&S Spade broke in half in less than two months
I have used various garden spades during my 70 years, but I've never had one break on me. I've heard of shafts breaking which is natural, but this Kent and Stowe one broke where the blade and the metal shaft meet. There was fluid inside which I think contributed to the metal fatigue. I had only bought the Spade a month or two beforehand. Certainly there are signs of the metal rusting. I was only removing tree roots, a job I've done hundreds of times before.
I contacted K&S and the kindly agreed to replace the Spade but only by them sending me vouchers and I having to buy it through their website.
To date I have had no further contact and no vouchers. They have either forgotten despite me reminding them or they had no intention of replacing the Spade.
I feel my only course of action is to report them to Trading Standards and to go through the small claims court as its a matter of principle!!
As of today 29/04/2026 I have received vouchers for a new spade - watch this space!!!

Replacement Product due to Defect
Very helpful regarding the broken handle of my border spade. Vouchers were issued to purchase a replacement (had to add some towards it to cover postage costs and to get like for like) Express delivery as standard took a week. Hopefully this one will last longer.
