With the slightest joke to the political left or center or a funny soft edgy joke you will get flagged with harassment and banned by softly triggered people the ones that always get their way in society. Terrible waste of time since your account will be removed and you will lose all your virtual friends just like that. And the site totally doesn't care. btw the site has like +50 spyware! You can dissable them in a browser so not in tha phone app! They are probably foing AI human studies on you!
Let's face it if you never spice up a conversations it goes nowhere if you had experience with women! Some women abuse to flag or perhaps fake profiles with a female photo, yet if you are a man you can never flag back or it will rebounce on yourself and you will flag yourself. This site is set up so you would be threated like a dog of pavlov, to condition you in their ways.

Ive been using interpals on and off for 3 years, that site is literally anything but language exchange.

In the time ive been on there i havent had a single decent conversation with anyone. you either get ignored (if your not a 17 year old girl or korean dude) or get scam or spam messages, and on the rare occasion you actually get a decent conversation you get ghosted after about a month, like clockwork eveytime. the whole atmosphere on there is toxic and people get bored very easily.

site is prone to major crashes every few months which bricks the site for a few days, moderators are absolutely useless, banning decent accounts while leaving perverts and bots active.

dont even get me started on the toxic koreaboo problem that most of these web sights now have, its disgusting and cringe.

TLDR: go into it with low expectations or better yet, not at all

I have used the website on and off for about 4 years. This is still an up and coming social website with much more potential left in the tank. Plus it already rocks as is.
I will try to outline the pros and cons as best I can.
I have made many friends and enjoyed quite a few conversations as there are some very smart people on there. You just have to look around. It's userbase is growing fast. Perhaps most importantly is that this is a smaller company unlike the giant monopolies such as Facebook/Twitter/etc.
It does have scammers but just be smart. If something seems fishy like they look really attractive but have a very limited/fake profile or they want to make some kind of strange business deal or ask you something you don't like just ignore them.
It has people of all different walks of life from all different parts of the world. You can search for keywords, set age, pick countries, search for flirts, upload pictures, and customize your profile in surprisingly sophisticated ways. It's a website that has grown a lot since it first started, and will likely continue to. It's a great facebook alternative.

Don't bother signing up. Signed up with the intention of making friends all over the world to do snail mail with.This site is nothing more than perverts and strange people trying to contact you, and wanting to chat over insignificant, and inappropriate things!
Tried deleting account, and have to wait a further 7 days until I'm allowed to deactivate. Have contacted support, to see if my account can be deleted sooner, but no correspondence as of yet.

Un secure, dangerous site.

It used to be that men could get a couple of dozen messages after sending out 100. Now nothing. Plus I am tired of hearing the shaming language from women and weirdo men complaining about quote unquote "perverts". Pleasure is a human need. And especially women want to trick people into thinking they don't want WhatsApp or whatever. The women want to use men for attention on there and not give anything in return. Plus there is more men on the site than ever before which explains why men don't get responses anymore. The women are literally rejecting men left and right now. Being ultra picky. Interpals sucks big time. I wish there was a site leaning in the favor of men and not women.

I definitely wouldn't recommend Interpals to anyone. This page has very little to do with any language exchange. It is more like a dating or even erotic site, full of perverts, scammers and other time-wasting folks. Many profiles seem phony as well. People (especially guys) constantly keep asking you to give them your whatsapp number or skype id- as if you couldn't chat over interpals. Of course if you refuse to switch your conversation to abovementioned apps they instantly go silent. I guess this shows clearly enough what their real intentions are- to lure you out of interpals and try to talk you into engaging in some indecent activity with them. That happened like zillions of times to me. Over the five years I had been there I blacklisted about 800 users. For now I just gave up using that site as I don't feel like being upset by another horny guy from India or Algeria who wants to be "friends" with me and floods me with questions like whether am I single or do I live alone. Moreover, the site admins seem to favour those pervs as they rarely discipline them by blocking their account and don't even raise a finger when you report those disgusting individuals. If you really want to improve your foreign language skills, join a course at a laguage school or do it by yourself. Online sites like interpals are one big crap.

This site is appallingly run. I really can't see it lasting. The software interface is awful, things don't work, and the moderation is hopeless.

This is a very disappointing penpal site. First of all, a great many of the profiles here are fake - there is perhaps 1 genuine profile in a 100 - I'm NOT kidding. I wonder if the site puts these profiles up itself. Anyway, these fake profiles never answer you, which means you spend a lot of time on the site sending out messages that are never answered. Frustrating. And meaningless.

Combine these fake profiles with the horde of genuinely obnoxious asian guys who swarm all over the site looking for sex chats from girls, and whose profiles are never deleted.

Then there's the fact that people seem oddly illiterate on interpals - it's a 'penpal' site, but no one there seems to know how to write letters! As a matter of fact, in using interpals I began to get the feeling that the human race was forgetting how to read or write! I'm NOT kidding.

Finally, while the moderators tolerate a horde of sex-mad asian guys on the site, I have had the profiles of good and genuine friends randomly banned on the site. This was horrible - fortunately, I had their email addresses, so I did not lose them as friends, but I don't have to tell you how frustrating and confusing the experience was for them. Knowing there are hordes of obnoxious people on the site whose profiles are NOT banned only makes things worse.

Interpals is not a good site. They will delete your account in a heartbeat without any explanation and without ever, ever, giving you a reason for the deletion. Even people who have had their accounts for YEARS have willy-nilly had their accounts deleted or suspended by moderators without any reason or comment. Without any by your leave at all. The site is NOT a good one. Steer clear of this site if you want to make honest to good friendships. There are better ones out there online.

summerdreaming- Nick men on this site, which at first glance seems very friendly and good person. but he gains the confidence of women all over the world, travels to these countries, lives free of charge with these women, and then morally humiliates them. Never trust this person!

This website is really good for meeting people all around the world.

I wouldn't see that this place is good for learning languages but I made really nice friends there that I have met in real later.

It has been something like 7 years that I use this website and even if I sometimes stop using it for months.. I always end up coming back XD
