Terrible community!
Women get attacked and harassed, Ukrainians get banned and every other profile is a scammer.

Horrible site, no freedom of speech and run by Russians.

I'd give Interpals a zero star if I could. I was contacted by two random russian users who were spouting anti Ukrainian propaganda out of the blue including links to dead children and how this was the "Ukrainian Nazis fault"
I reported these two people without comment and my account was instantly banned.

After contacting Interpals they refused to unban me and cited spamming as a catch all response (I don't message people first so this is impossible)

Support refuse to unban me and the pro war spamming, russian profiles are still there. Disgusting company and I hope they're banned from most decent countries.

I can only say that what other users wrote on here is true. I've had an account for years. Interpals always had an issue with scammers who are on the website for a visa, for sexual harassment or an attempt to stalk women.

I blocked all of those scammers and met some nice people on there over the years but then my account got deleted out of the blue. There was a user who had bad content on his profile and I asked him about it thinking that nobody could be serious about that type of thing. In the end I don't know if my account was deleted because I asked someone a question about their questionable content (I did mention that I interpreted it as bad content to post. Their profile didn't get deleted but it should have by the standards of any other website). Or if it was an issue for Interpals that I chatted with Ukrainians on there. I have been in contact with both Russians and Ukrainians for years over Interpals. I'm not curious about politics and it was never a topic for me in all those years. Sad enough that Interpals added more questionable practices to what was there before anyway.

This site is REALLY hard to review.
I REALLY like it, though there ARE some serious flaws, among others, lots of fake accounts, scammers and people with inappropriate behaviors...
BUT... you can always ignore and report these people.

And...

It is also a place to find a Very Best Friend if you are honest and open to it and accept that he/she might not show up in first attempt... and maybe the bad people will.
Some people find the love of their life here too 😊😊😊

Russians on this site are very aggressive, showing open support for putin and his war. No one can say anything to them, because the interpals management deletes the accounts of anyone who resists the russians!

It's perfectly true - if you say anything against any russian supporting the war on Interpals, no matter how politely, your account is instantly deleted.

It is amazing that hundreds of scammers proliferate on interpals, trying to take advantage of users - these scammers' accounts are not deleted. But the accounts of anyone who speaks in favour of the ukrainian people are!

Interpals is full of Russian users who openly support Putin's war in Ukraine. They say things like, 'I support Putin, and I don't care what anyone thinks,' or, 'Europe and the US are foolish - we cannot understand why they are sanctioning us. They are only going to hurt themselves.' Or, much, MUCH worse, they simply post links to videos of Russian government propaganda about the 'Nazis' that the glorious Russian government is defending the world from.

HOWEVER, if you write anything in reply, you are INSTANTLY banned!

For example, I wrote a reply to one such post, POLITELY pointing out that little children were being killed in bombing and shelling, not to mention the fact that their childhoods' were being destroyed, and I was INSTANTLY banned.

It's alright to make pro-Putin statements, but not to write anything in reply.

It's not a good website.

I have met a number of wonderful people throughout the world on this site. I did not know this was a "dating site" I always considered it an electronic pen-pals site.
So, if you "got scammed" by someone on this site then it is your own fault. You have to be pretty stupid to let someone scam you.

Just forget about this site, it’s nothing but a gateway for African scammers and visa hunters.

There is a moderator there or a group of moderators, that bully people and keep deactivating their accounts for no reason. This is really childish and pathetic behaviour, they need to hire people that actually do work on the site instead or carrying out their personal vendettas against people. To that moderator who keeps doing that. I will keep coming back. You are wasting your time. Keep on wasting it.

Scammers are allowed to run a mock on the site and the so called moderators do nothing to them, they attack the good people on the site.

Have to agree with previous posters. The site is overrun with Nigerian scammers with fake profiles. It’s supposed to be a penpal site, but these vermin are overwhelming it with dating scams. If you complain, you get banned for “suspicious activities”. A complete waste of time joining it.

This site said as friendships site.
But 75% mens there using as dating site. Lots scammers. Because they not filtered who’s join to their site.
I got warning for putting the scammers profile to my album which is what I am doing is just warn other female user.
It’s said breached their agreement. How about user like me the one want clean friendships and tried to warning other female user to be careful with tons scammers in their site.

This site is absolutely worthless. Not only are there a lot of scammers, rude and even absolutely crazy people here, but these scammers and crazies use the 'report' button as a weapon.

My own experience. A girl asked me why I wanted to learn a particular language. I said, it's because I like the literature of that language. The girl then instantly began to abuse the said literature. When I stopped talking to her, she reported me to the moderators! I do not know what she said to them, but the moderators then sent me a warning, telling me that I had to behave or would get my profile deleted! So, the site is absolutely insane - scammers and crazies proliferate, while honest people are given warnings or banned by the moderators.

I registered there, because I wanted to meet female ( and not male) friends in Istanbul. To explore Istanbul and to learn or teach languages.
I wrote in my profile exactly that I am not looking for males, and only people that live in Istanbul.
But from the first moment on my account was flooded with messages of young guys from foreign countries. I even started to chat with one guy from Istanbul, and complained about that thing. And when he offered me to help me in case I have any problem in Istanbul, I told him that usually everybody that said this in Istnabul, so far only wanted money.
That wasn´t racist, it is my experience and a fact.
But the next day my account was cancelled. That means Interpals read your private chats. And if they don´t like your opinion you are out. There is no privacy at all, and no freedom of speech and opinion.
I wrote several times to the support of Interpals, and asked friendly if they could please tell me the reason for cancelling my account. They never answered.
In other words, if women are not willing to deal with guys from all around the globe, that even could be their sons, and that are looking for financial support or a passport for the U.S. or the EU, or just sexual adventures, Interpal deletes their account.
I and when I read all the horror comments here, I am glad that they deleted my account. :)
The support of Interpals is as unserious as their users.

It's disgusting the amount of perverts and nasty men on this site. I have been called a cow, pig, fat, prostitute, bltch, ugly, sworn at, etc. I've had unwanted sexual messages, men threating to send unwanted dick picks, men talking about raping me (and someone said he would rape my mam) and impregnating me. Had someone keep creating accounts to say nasty things to me. Blocked another guy then he made a new account to harass me. I've had some really vile things said to me. All this was because I wasn't interested in these men. Then you have the catfishes. Had some trying to get me to help them get into the UK also, asking if I will marry them etc. Interpals sucks!

Interpals gives you a warning for defending yourself against some of this disgusting crap after a creep reported me (after I told him I had reported him).

I began my InterPal account eagerly, but after reading these plentiful negative reviews, I decided to delete my account. Well, guess what? Apparently, one can't delete their InterPal account until it's been active for seven days! InterPal says that this is to prevent spam, which doesn't make any sense to me. I appreciate that they're concerned about spam, but I don't see how deleting one's account early on has anything to do with promoting that sort of thing. InterPal's website is also unpolished and occasionally glitchy, and there don't seem to be directions about how to discover a pen-pal. (I decided NOT to try to figure it out on my own.) If there are directions, they are not conveniently accessible. I don't recommend using InterPal, but if this didn't convince you, I think that the other reviews here will.

I registered to this site 8 years ago, to make contact with foreigners and improving my language skill by messages, then later I started to look for more serious friendships or relationships.
The first huge problem of this site is that everybody uses it for different reasons, so very hard to find somebody you are looking for, some uses it only for language, very few people for looking for postal or email pen-pals, and most of them are just registering because they are BORED. You write to them, they reply to you, then you get ignored after 2-3 messages in the best case (as male), if they even read your message at all.
The worst are the "friend" colletors, who just want to feel popular, but after few messages, they won't even remember you exist.

BUT THIS SITE USES LOG IN BOTS
What does it mean? LONG DEAD ACCOUNTS ARE LOGGED IN BY AUTOMATED BOT so it looks like this site has more anctive users... meanwhile most of the accounts are long abandoned!!! This site is a huge lie with these fake active users, they will never read your message, because they are not even active evne if it seems so!
How I know it? Because I had an other account I left for many years, and once I saw that it was logged in not long ago... no it was not hacked!!! Their site makes these accounts look like active!
The easiest way to spot those account, if they were logged in not long ago, but their newest photo was uploaded 3-10 years ago, or they don't even have anything written on their profile.

I can tell you I have sent at least 1000 first messages on this site through 8 years (even if I took breaks from it), and at least 800 messages were never read by the users at all. From the aprox. 1000 messages, I only found 2 girls, I was keeping in touch longer than 1 month, that is all!
And through the 8 years, I have received maximum (!) 10 first messages from other users, just because I am guy and not from a popular country...

I found a much much better site for pen-pals, but I won't tell its name, better if less people know about it, it means less weirdos for that site.

NEVER EVER REGISTER TO THIS SITE UNLESS YOU ARE ATTRACTIVE WOMAN AND YOU WANT ATTENTION, because most of the real girls only use it for that, promoting their social accounts, or hoping for bigger attention or finding their sugar daddy or sugar boy, who will save them from their poor country.

Be careful most of the Chinese account are fake and scammers. Japanese are ignorant, they won't reply to you unless you are from US, UK or Australia. Girls from Indo-China and Philippines and Russia or Ukraine are usually hardcore golddiggers.

A parte qualche utente rompiscatole che ho bloccato, finora ho avuto sia esperienze positive che negative. Ho notato che le conversazioni nella maggior parte dei casi sono frugali, gli utenti sono tutti annoiati e perditempo. Molti ragazzi postano foto di nudi per attirare le ragazze, altri invece ti spingono ad utilizzare i social, e spariscono nel giro di alcuni giorni. Altri ancora ti fanno domande un po' imbarazzanti e troppo personali. Secondo me se volete migliorare le lingue a livello parlato, meglio farlo in proprio (esempio parlare da soli, o trovarsi un tandem in persona tramite le università). Comunque sia, è uno dei pochi siti del settore che si può definire gratuito.

Interpals is full of perverts and other weirdos. On Interpals it doesn't take much more than being a young woman to trigger hordes or perverted and apparently sex starved older men from Turkey, India and Korea to message you crude words. "Hey baby" "I love you baby", "I want to marry you baby", "Let's have sex baby", "Do you like big d*ck baby?", etc, etc... We are talking about hundreds of messages of such sort every single day on Interpals if you fall into my demographic. Lol I don't even have a sexy profile pic or anything, it's just my face cropped a my neck but these guys are relentless. This problem has apparently existed for years, I find threads on the internet complaining about the same issue they date back from 2009. And Interpals admins have done nothing to stop it, reporting people doesn't help, they never get banned. Interpals is anything but a penpals website, lots of men are only there to meet girls and have sex. Do something about it! When people get reported for harassment their account should be terminated, multiple reports on different accounts and their IP should be banned.
