I have used the europe service for 20 years. I initially bought it on price and amazingly it has gone done by £3 since I first bought it. The purchase process is very easy

Difficult navigation to renew policy
Planned maintenance didnt allow me to automatically renew my policy. The end of the month, in my opinion, is not the best time to schedule maintenance.

Good in theory, but not in practice
I've used this car hire excess insurance for years. Tried making a small claim once but they ask for lots and lots of paperwork, stuff which car hire companies these days don't provide. The stuff they ask for sounds reasonable but you can't email Avis or Sixt to ask for this, they just never reply. So as the claim was small, I gave up.
Also, this company doesn't do auto renew nor even email you to say it's running out soon. The one and only time I really needed it (flat tyre plus towing cost), it turned out that the policy had expired and I hadn't made a note to remind myself.
Anyway, apart from that, it's probably ok.

Easy and protected - “insured” would be a more accurate description.
The claims process could be clearer, as there is some discrepancy between the contract and the communications received. However, this is not a major issue.
Overall, it’s a good company and generally easy to deal with.

I’ve been using Insurance4HireCars for…
I’ve been using Insurance4HireCars for a few years now and would happily recommend them, especially if you hire cars regularly.
I only needed to make a claim once, and it was handled quickly and without hassle. The key thing is to read the T&Cs and collect the vehicle properly from the hire company — take clear photos of everything when you pick the car up and again when you return it, including any damage. You’ll usually be doing this anyway, but it makes the claims process much smoother if something does crop up after the car’s been handed back.
The cover is reasonably priced and, if you hire cars often, it can save you an absolute fortune compared to taking the rental company’s excess cover every time.
When I did need to claim, the payout was fast and fair, which is exactly what you want from insurance.
Solid cover, good value, and does exactly what it says on the tin.

An insurance company is only really tested when it comes to paying a claim. I had great service when the car hire company was being less than helpful so would unhesitatingly recommend Insurance4CarHire. Great service when you have a claim.

Happy with the service provided, throughout multiple years. Twice I've needed to make a claim and they were both dealt with positively and efficiently. The only remark I would make is that if you let the policy expire, you need to re-register as a new client; no history of previous subscriptions is kept.
