We have nine shops across the UK, and customers can also buy online from our website. We pride ourselves on our wide knowledge and excellent customer service. All your queries will be handled by a human being, and our 40 sales staff are all experienced musicians, with an unrivalled combined expertise on all kinds of musical instruments and styles. We stock the most widely varied range of instruments and accessories available on the high street, from guitars and amps to folk and traditional instruments from all over the world. We stock new and secondhand musical instruments. If you have a used musical instrument to sell, contact us to find out how we can help - we often buy used instruments for cash, or we can sell it on your behalf. I had a problem...
I've bought stuff from Hobgoblin Music a few times, both online and from the Southampton shop and they've always been good.
I had a problem with a new Blues Harp I bought online where one of the notes wasn't working. Unusual in itself but these things happen I guess. One phone call and they sorted out a replacement in record time so that I would have it delivered to me on the Isle of Wight the day before an important gig.
They were really helpful from start to finish. Excellent service!

Great experience ordering from Mexico!
I ordered a whistle from Mexico and the team was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the process. Since your website doesn't calculate international shipping to my country, they assisted me manually with payment and shipping. They answered all my emails kindly and quickly. I love my new Cordoba C5
I love my new Cordoba C5. It sounds and plays beautifully. A real bargain and can only get better with age. As for the service from Hobgoblin, also excellent. Arrived well packaged and on time. Highly recommend both.

Hello, I am very sorry it was not more clear that there would be customs charges on your order. We have limited options for adding text to the shopping cart process, but it was specified in the postage option you selected. We can't tell what the charges will be for any order, but we do remove the UK VAT for all orders leaving the country, and this is also specified in the postage option text. I will review the wording to see if I can make it clearer.

Nothing more than years of earned trust
Given two or three options that appear to be about the same, I will always choose Hobgoblin because of the years of trusted service. Nothing flashy, they just get the job done.
