POOR BACK-UP
After having several windows replaced successfully a couple of years ago, i employed this company to replace two doors and one more window. This all went well until I noticed that there was debris within the glass panel on the door which misted up when exposed to sunlight. The workman was called back and insisted that there was no debris and cleaned the inside and outside panes of glass. The glass panel was eventually replaced but the top section or the beading was not fitted correctly with a 6mm gap at the top. The same workman eventually returned after a broken appointment. He did not have the good manners to phone me. On arriving and fitting the panel correctly I told him to be more careful and inspect his work.
'HE SAID DON'T SPEAK TO ME IN THIS WAY.
I find this person aggressive and in the wrong job.
Has he not heard of the expression the customer is always right.
As I report to the National Trading Standards I will be taking this matter further. I will also be contacting all the people I know advising them of this situating.
You will end up loosing business because of this one person which is a pity as the windows and doors are otherwise fine.

Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the conversation, this is not the level of customer service we expect from anyone representing Fitter Windows and the matter will be addressed internally with the individual concerned.
We pride ourselves on the standard of service we provide, not only during the initial installation but, importantly, in the aftercare we offer our customers. If something isn't right, we expect our team to return, resolve it professionally and treat the customer and their home with respect throughout.
We are also sorry that an appointment was missed without you receiving the communication you should have had. Again, that falls below the standard we expect.
We do, however, appreciate you acknowledging that your previous windows were installed successfully, that the recent installation itself went well and that you are happy with the windows and doors. When the issue with the glass unit was identified, the unit was replaced, and the subsequent issue with the beading has now also been corrected.
What disappoints us most is that the actions and communication of one individual have clearly overshadowed what had otherwise been a positive relationship with Fitter Windows over a number of years.
As you rightly say yourself, “the windows and doors are otherwise fine.” We therefore hope that, once we have dealt with this matter internally, you might consider whether the 2-star rating reflects your experience with Fitter Windows as a whole.
We completely respect your right to leave an honest review and would never wish to diminish your concerns. We simply hope our previous successful work, the quality of the products you have received, our willingness to return and rectify the issues, and the action we are taking regarding your latest experience can also be taken into consideration.
We have built our reputation by looking after our customers and we will not tolerate behaviour that falls below the standards we set. One person's actions should not define the service provided by the rest of our team, and we are genuinely sorry that on this occasion they have affected your view of our company.

A very positive experience…
Had a very positive experience with Fitter Windows. They've finished up today at our house in SE London and the result is excellent.
Particular thanks to our 2 fitters, who did a great job installing two new sash windows and shutters. They were very considerate and carried out the work to a high standard. Would recommend.

firstly from quote to survey to the whole sit down meeting and agreeing the price, there was none of that o so familiar "if you sign today" "let me call my boss get a better price " , it was a professional meeting focussed on my needs and affordability. Then the fitting days come, on time or early the guys arrived both days. before anything and introduction from the team, pure class, then the work afte all the coverings had been laid down and the house protected, and it just kept getting better. These guys Matt and Nathan worked hard and worked clean and past 4 . there was no feel they needed to get away only they wanted the job done properly and they did .
the install is so clean, the work is top notch and the attention to detail was on point.
so glad i went with these

I am extremely pleased with the service I received from this window fitting company. From the initial consultation through to the installation, the team was professional, friendly, reliable and clearly took pride in their work.
The quality of the windows and the standard of the fitting were excellent. The installers arrived on time, worked efficiently and professionally, and were respectful of my property. They also made sure everything was finished properly and left the area clean and tidy afterwards.
Communication throughout the process was also very good, and any questions I had were dealt with promptly and courteously by the supervisor Andy. It is refreshing to deal with a company that genuinely cares about its customers and delivers what it promises.

Good quality windows, but disappointing installation experience
I had most of the windows in my house changed by fitter windows with upvc double glazed. The windows are good quality and the salesman Paul helpful. The first surveyor was also good. The window installers made some cracks in the wall under the upstairs bay windows which they remedied after I raised it. I was happy enough with my experience to recommend fitter windows to my mum for her aluminium patio door and do the remaining windows in my house. Again, the salesman Paul was helpful. The surveyor could have been better. He took pictures of the old windows unlike the first surveyor and a picture of my mum bending over, which I wasn't happy about. He said she wasn't recognisable, but he could have asked her to move. My real disappointment was with the installers who used my mothers glass patio table to put all their tools and cups on. They scratched and damaged the table, despite my mother requesting several times that they did not use the table. Ignoring an elderly woman's request was very upsetting. I raised this with Fitter Windows who refused any liability. They requested multiple pictures of the patio door which I sent and then said the pictures did not prove anything. Why then ask for the pictures to be sent multiple times? The workmen agreed they used the patio table but refuted damaging it, which is typical. The same workman used the dirtiest covers when replacing the remaining windows in my house. The covers which are supposed to protect carpets and the bathroom were filthy. If I had known, I would have bought my own. The cost of new covers cost 50p in the shops. It seems Fitter Windows sub contract installation, even though they say they don't. Either way, they need to train their installers not to damage other peoples property and bring clean new covers. I spent over £15,000 on windows, so was very disappointed with this experience. I would suggest shopping around. Enfield Windows were very careful when installing their windows and were far more polite. The experience was far better and I didn't have to replace a glass patio table at an additional cost of £110.
Following Fitter Windows below feedback, I feel it important to mention the glass table was moved to one side. The installers used the glass patio table despite repeated requests from my elderly mother not to. It was not next to the patio door. It was further away. The table was rarely used and had no marks before Fitter windows installers came. Fitter windows sent the installers who damaged the glass patio table to assess the damage and take pictures rather than an independent person. How they can expect to arrive at a fair conclusion when they sent the perpetrator to make an assessment is anyones guess. Fitter Windows then sent the same installers to install my windows despite the issue we had experienced with my mother. My thoughts are that they have one set of installers.
A year previously, the installer fixed the cracks under the bay window because they could fix it without further expense. The glass table damaged by Fitter Windows installers replacing. It can not be fixed. Hence the reluctance for Fitter Windows to accept culpability.
On FWs last comment, why send the same installers to install my windows after I raised a complaint about the installation of my mothers patio door and scratch marks on a glass table. This was a new job and a chance to put your best installers forward to rectify poor service.
The reactive responses are the reason I knocked off a star. Customers don't have time to waste replying to responses. The service fell short of what you would expect from a professional company. There are other alternatives in the market, which are less hassle.

However, we feel it is important to clarify some of the points raised.
Regarding the glass patio table, we did not simply refuse liability. Your concerns were taken seriously, photographs were requested and the table was subsequently inspected so that we could properly investigate before reaching a conclusion.
Upon inspection, the table had numerous surface scratches and marks across it, many of which were clearly pre-existing. In those circumstances, we could not reasonably establish that the particular scratches being claimed for had been caused by our installers and therefore could not accept liability for replacing the table.
Our installers acknowledged using the table but categorically denied causing the damage claimed. After considering their account, the photographs and the condition of the table itself, there simply wasn't sufficient evidence for us to hold them responsible.
We also ask customers before installation to move furniture, ornaments and personal belongings away from the working areas wherever possible. This protects customers' possessions and provides our installers with a safe and suitable working area.
We would also like to correct the suggestion that our installers are subcontracted. We currently have 16 installers who work for Fitter Windows and Fitter Windows only. If remedial work is required, our normal practice is to send the original installation team back to rectify their own work rather than simply sending another installer. We believe this encourages accountability and maintains consistent standards.
Regarding the protective coverings, we are disappointed that you felt their condition was unacceptable. Protective materials should be suitable for protecting a customer's home, and your comments have been raised internally.
We have also noted your comments regarding the survey photograph. Surveyors take photographs to document the property and installation requirements; there was no intention to photograph your mother personally. Nevertheless, we accept that she could have been asked to move before the photograph was taken and have taken that feedback on board.
Where we have identified something for which we are responsible, we have acted accordingly. The cracking beneath the bay windows was raised with us and subsequently remedied. We believe this demonstrates that we do not simply dismiss complaints or refuse responsibility. However, equally, we cannot accept liability for damage where our investigation does not establish that our installers caused it.
We are disappointed that this issue has overshadowed what you acknowledge were good-quality products and a previous experience positive enough for you to place further business with us and recommend us to your mother.
We always aim to be fair with our customers, but we must also be fair to our employees. We therefore cannot attribute pre-existing or unproven damage to an installer simply because a claim has been made.
We are sorry that you remain unhappy with the outcome. However, we also feel that subsequently reducing the star rating because our investigation did not reach the outcome you wanted does not fairly reflect the overall service, products and remedial support you received from Fitter Windows.

From the very first telephone…
From the very first telephone conversation I had,I had confidence in Fitterhome. One small criticism is that I was assured that one of the sales team would come out to see me and would be at my home for about one hour. He was actually at my home for between two and three hours!! Having said that,he was thorough.
The installation took place less than a month later and the installation guys were brilliant. As they finished in one room,they hoovered and tidied up before going on to the next room. At the end of the second day,when the installation was complete,they checked every window and door to make sure that they all worked properly,had a key,and were not damaged in any way. They then asked my husband and I to do the same. There were a couple of small issues that we pointed out to them,which they had already noted and photographed. They then explained that somebody would contact us the following day and arrange for somebody to come back and resolve the issues a couple of days after that,which is exactly what happened!!
We have had so many neighbours and other people such as the postman and the window cleaner comment on how nice the windows and doors look. The whole interior of our bungalow is so much lighter and we are already noticing how much warmer it is inside.

Firstly, we completely understand your comment regarding the length of the initial appointment. We normally advise customers to allow approximately 60–90 minutes, although this can vary depending on the size and complexity of the order. In your case, there was a larger amount of work to discuss and, as you decided you were happy to proceed, additional time was also needed to go through the available finance options and complete that side of the application properly. We would always rather take a little extra time to make sure everything is fully explained and correct than rush such an important decision. That said, we appreciate your feedback and are pleased you found the visit thorough.
What really makes us proud, though, is reading about your installation. Our fitters are expected to treat every customer's home as if it were their own, from cleaning each room as they progress through to thoroughly checking every window and door before leaving. It sounds like the team did exactly that.
We’re also pleased you mentioned the couple of small issues that were identified. With any installation, the occasional snag can arise, but for us the important part is how quickly and professionally it is dealt with. The fact that our fitters had already identified, photographed and reported the issues, followed by our office arranging for them to be resolved exactly as promised, is the level of aftercare we aim to provide.
And hearing that your neighbours, postman and even your window cleaner have been commenting on how good the new windows and doors look certainly put a smile on our faces! Even better is knowing that you’re already noticing how much lighter and warmer your bungalow feels.

We recently purchased bifold doors, porch windows and door from this company. both times we had Paul come over and gave us a design-quotation, He was very professional I was rushing to have my bifold done in 4 weeks ( other 2 companies I had quotation from said it would take upto 8 weeks and they asked for double the price) but Fitter windows installed them in 3 weeks and they did amazing job.
Everytime I contacted the company they are all very helpful and polite.

The salesman came
The salesman came, very professional and no pressure to sign at all
We contacted the firm after other quotes , they were not professional and kept calling and emails to us
The surveyor turned up on time again and was thorough. He answered all our questions and then a date for the fitters which was around our arrangements
Two fitters turned up and all I can say they were so polite,worked diligently throughout the day, and everything was perfect. Cleaned up everything too

From the initial meeting with Kevin to conversations with Andy and the surveyor Brian and having the windows fitted by Matty and Gerald it felt like a real family experience. The fitting was done with speed and efficiency. I was worried about the very old and worn out patio door coming out. But Matty and Gerald were able to reassure us that the surrounding brick work was sound. The team left every where clean and tidy. The windows and patio door are superb and look like they have always been there. I would recommend Fitterwindows to everyone who wants a company that cares.

Just had shutters fitted in bedrooms
So pleased with the shutters. Can not fault the quality or design. They make the rooms look so much brighter. The Fitting was painless. Fitters arrived on time. They were friendly and very helpful, and any mess was cleared up before they left. Deffinately would recommend.
