Two days in Luxor were a breeze
Two days in Luxor were a breeze. Greatly planned by Egypt tours portal and amazing execution by Guide Samar Nagi. She is very energetic and has deep knowledge of Egyptian history. Food here in luxor is amazing and she took us to a lovely restaurant next to Carter bungalow.

14 days in Egypt with Egypt Tours Portal
Just finished a wonderful trip to Egypt. 14 days with Egypt Tours Portal. Our first 5 days were in the Cairo area with our tour guide Ahmed Elgohary. We also had Ahmed on our very last day. We could not have asked for a better guide. He took such wonderful care of us and felt more like a close friend at the end than just a tour guide. He went far above expectations in everything he did with us. I highly recommend that anyone thinking about this tour ask for Ahmed Elgohary as your guide for the Cairo area and Alexandria tour. He is top notch!
We also spent time in Aswan and Luxor including a Nile river cruise. Our guide for this part of our tour was Amr Makki aka Mekky. He is also a wonderful tour guide. Mekky made sure that we were exposed to authentic Egyptian experiences. I appreciated that so much. We had authentic Egyptian foods and got to visit a spice shop and an alabaster factory. We watched local artisans creating beautiful alabaster products by hand.
We also enjoyed a few very relaxing days in Hurghada where we stayed in a very nice all inclusive resort.
Anyone considering a trip to Egypt should seriously consider booking thru Egypt Tours Portal. Everything was handled so seamlessly from picking us up at the airport to hotels and all transportation. Also make sure to ask for Ahmed Elgohary and Amr Makki. They are both the best! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

My Experience (Melissa) was like a dream we got here and was treated so kindly from airport to when Reham picked us up next morning she was great a professional and kind person that she made you feel so welcomed and very comfortable to be around. Our experience at Aswan, Abu Simbel and Luxor
I already posted a review of our experience in Cairo. We flew to Aswan and was met outside the terminal by our guide Amr Makki, ada Mekky, and he loaded us swiftly into the transport bus and off we went right into some touring. We first went to the High Dam and then took a boat to the Philae Temple. After that we went to the unfinished obelisk. We checked in on our Nile Cruise Ship the Beau Rivage and ate lunch. Rested and Mekky met us and took us on a felucca sail boat right, then transferred over to a motor boat to a Nubian village. It was a full day and a lot of fun. Mekky took great care of us.
The next day was Abu Simbel and we joined with another tour group on a bigger bus with a different tour guide, Omar. It was a long and extremely bumpy ride to the south about 6 miles from Sudan but it was an amazing site and Omar was very knowledgeable and though we were the add-ons, he paid plenty attention to us.
We got back, ate lunch and the cruise launched down river. We stopped at Kom Ombo before days end and took the tour. I expressed an interest in the symbol of the "astonished man," the Egyptian symbol for one million as that is my company logo. Mekky made sure to point out all carvings he knew of the astonished man at both Kom Ombo and Edfu.
On top of being a great and knowledgeable tour guide, Mekky went the extra mile several times to accommodate a need, or ever want, and one time went all the way back to the boat to look for something thought to be left in the room. I had expressed an interest in the Egyptian food dish buftek as it is similar to our "chicken fried steak" in America. He had trouble understanding why we would call a beef dish "chicken fried," but on the last day he took us to a restaurant and had the restaurant specially cook buftek with mashed potatoes for me when it was primarily a buffet.
I appreciate Mekky and his caring and expertise. It made our tour very enjoyable.
Here are some things to know about traveling to Egypt in general. We had prepared ourselves for the extreme tip culture, but after a week it began to wear on us how much cash, both USD and Egyptian pounds flew out of the pocket for tips. It became exhausting. We found we probably needed about 50% more cash then we came prepared with.
Another thing, Egyptian Tours Portal tours will take you to one or two shops per day that specializes in something and you will feel obligated to buy something. It isn't high pressure. For example we were taken to a jewelry store in Cairo and it was recommended to buy a silver or gold cartouche. We bought some for our grandchildren. Then we were taken to a papyrus art shop where we were shown how they make papyrus and then shown the store full of art. This was actually a good thing for us because we came over intending to by some art on papyrus. We were taken to a spice shop that makes many herbs and spices and we bought something there, too. On the felucca ride a guy came aboard and sold us some Nubian necklaces. You get the idea. You do not have to buy in these settings, but you feel rude not to. The positive way to look at it, if you were interested in some quality purchases in Egypt, ETP takes you to reputable merchants that would be hard for you to find on your own. So I'm not saying this is negative, and it was always informational and interesting. Just letting you know to be prepared. (Mekky, our tour guide, even got us a good deal at the alabaster factory).
Another thing to know, there are people peddling souvenirs everywhere you go and walk up to you to try to get you to buy a scarf or magnets or something.
Egyptian Tours Portal is a big operation. Not just a small family tour company. They have tour guides and buses and seem to have influence even. We are so thankful we made the choice to go with ETP. We believe (party of four) they helped us maximize our time in Egypt and make it a safe and enjoyable trip.

A wonderful way to get a taste of ancient Egypt.

Beyond our Expectations
We just returned home from an incredible trip to Egypt, and we cannot say enough good things about Egypt Tours. From the moment we booked our trip until the day we flew home, their communication, organization, and attention to detail were outstanding.
Our adventure began in Cairo, where we were warmly welcomed at the airport by our guide, Abdulrahman Mosbah. He immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease, and our Nile River sunset cruise was the perfect introduction to Egypt. Abdul’s warm personality and infectious enthusiasm made our first day both fun and memorable.
The following day, we toured with Reda Elgendy, who brought the pyramids to life with fascinating stories and historical insights. Seeing the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) was truly breathtaking and a highlight of our time in Cairo.
In Aswan, we were greeted at the airport by Ahmed Haggag, who guided us over the next two days. Ahmed was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough in his explanations, and always kept us entertained with his great sense of humor. We learned so much while enjoying every moment of our time with him.
Our final stop was Luxor, where we met Ghada Kamel. Saving the best for last, Ghada was absolutely exceptional. Her passion for Egypt’s history and culture made our visits to the temples and the Valley of the Kings unforgettable. She was engaging, informative, and truly outstanding.
This trip exceeded all of our expectations. Not only did we experience some of the world’s most amazing historical sites, but each of our guides also shared valuable insights into Egyptian culture and daily life. We returned home with wonderful memories, a deeper appreciation for Egypt, and gratitude for the amazing team at Egypt Tours.

Nile cruise from Aswan
Our Nile cruise from Aawan has been great. Our guide though (Atef Nour) has been greater than that. He was with us all the time trying to resolve any issues arising and provided very interesting information on all the Egyptian megastructures visited. Every now and then he was testing on us on how much we have learned and made various jokes which helped a lot while being on the minibus for long hours. We will for sure miss him and we would like to take the opportunity to thank him for making the tours enjoyable.

The best tour guide we have ever had, Ahmed Elgohary.
Our tour guide Ahmed Elgohary has been amazing. Very knowledgeable about all the sites we have been to. He has been very accommodating to our needs. He has taken special interest in us to make sure we have been comfortable. If we ever come back to Egypt, I will request Ahmed Elgohary to be our tour guide. Also, our driver Hussein has been fantastic. He has been courteous and very helpful with our travel. We have enjoyed both of these men tremendously.

Our anchor in Luxor
Ghada Kamel was a wonderful tour guide who was very skilled at time management and bringing us to all kinds of locations in Luxor while avoiding most of the crowds. We had a great time looking at the different sights and taking pictures and appreciated her consideration to details such as providing drinks for the group on a hot day and giving tips on how to deal with overenthusiastic hawkers. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave us a good amount of space and free time to explore different sites to our hearts’ content. A down-to-earth and warm person! Overall the tour was very interesting and low-stakes even with two groups together, it was great!

Luxor Day Trip from Cairo
My day trip to Luxor, organized by Egypt Tours Portal, was an end-to-end fantastic experience!
Not only was the planning and transportation (including hotel transfers, flights, and transfers in Luxor) swift and easy, but also my local guide Nermeena was amazing throughout.
She was consistently engaged and always ensured to give me clear and easy to understand explanations, and had an answer for every single question I asked. Further she had a great balance of guiding me though places and providing relevant context, and letting me explore the vast areas myself in my own speed - something that made my trip feel more personal and I truly appreciated.
