Would give a zero star if I could but…

Would give a zero star if I could but then would not be able to leave a review.

Called the chat line to get them to either repair our upright vacuum or send in for repairs. The power bar/brush was not working, it looked like a bearing had broken and the beater bar would not turn. The moron on the chat line wanted to do a troubleshooting process which was pointless as we had already done that and since it was not working it was irrelevant. Then the idiot said that any parts would have to be paid for even though there was a year left in the warranty. We have had previous machines sent to the repair depot or were shipped replacement parts on numerous occasions and this was never an issue. It seems like they farm out this chat service to someplace in Timbucktoo or elewhere. We have owned Dyson vacuums for close to 20 years but this is the last one - absolutely non-existant and dismal customer service to say the least.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. Bought a $900+ vacuum, for parts to be broken within a year and a half. Back and forth emails with poor communication and not going anywhere. phone calls are dismissive. Their website literally says they’ll cover parts if its under warranty if broken but customer service does not honor that.

Bought this vacuum so we don’t get headaches for a few years but its been quite the opposite.

DYSON SUCKS.

Dyson did a nose dive

As a professional cleaner, I can't recommend Dyson for my clients any further. Quality has gone down significantly and the returns process is long and drawn out with multiple emails and pictures sent. Save your money, buy a different brand, and you can get 2 or 3 replacements for the cost of 1 Dyson.

Awkward gap tool useless

I spent 75$ on an awkward gap tool only to find out it barely differs from the regular gap tool AND it doesn't work. It could not suck up the lint in the gap beside my dryer. When I called customer service, they said it didn't have the suction because it doesn't have "electrical impulses". Representative confirmed that I could not expect it to suck up the dryer lint!! Waste of money but unfortunately I'm over the 30 days.

Terrible customer service

My air purifier-humidifier stopped detecting water tank after 1 year. I have to contact customer service 4 times. They told me that the service is scheduled and I should receive a shipping label shortly, but that didn't happen. The most annoying part is that the agents copy-paste the same messages and suggest me to sell-back my broken machine to get % off and by a new one. It's ridiculous! How could the company expect me to buy a new device if my old one broke just after 1 year, moreover having such a terrible service for such high price!!!
That was definitely my last purchase from Dyson.

Great products and customer service

I own 2 Dyson animal canister vacs and a Dyson air purifier. I've been pleased overall with them except the roller heads seem to wear out but dyson replaces them without any hassle for free within the warranty period. The air purifier has no issues. They are the only vac that handles long dog fur without it clogging the head roller. Suction is excellent but not as good as I would had hoped for. Still it's far superior to other makes in that regard and build quality. Its why I own 2. Customer service is simply the best. No hassle, no hoops to jump thru etc to get a part or repair. They trust their customers 100%. They will send parts or pay to return it for repair. Even will send a box to ship it in. They are costly but a 5yr no hassle warranty makes Dyson good value.

Unreliable Products, be prepared for MANY calls to their 'customer service' (which is just reading scripts at you)

Been a long time Dyson customer.
Product quality has continuously gotten worse. My 90 day old vacuum has been usable ~4 weeks...the rest of the time is waiting on parts to be sent, or now a box to be sent to return it and we are going on three weeks (I live in Toronto ...massive purolator centre just down the street from me).

Today was literally my 8th call. asked to speak to a supervisor as i realize first line customer experience can't do too much outside their process. Right off the start of the call tone was dismissive, was very 'you just have to wait'. I had to ask him to be the one to take ownership and follow up on this and keep me informed as I can't keep calling back, repeating the previous 7 calls, etc.

All responses are directly from scripts. "oh i understand how this can be frustrating, very sorry. however you have to wait"
Even in situations that are CLEARLY gone very very wrong they still wont' budge from their scripts. The laughable part, the IVR says 'Iconic Customer Service'..... it is exactly the opposite. Clear text book example or using empty words and promises does not mean customer service.

STAY FAR AWAY and go with more reputable brands.

I am very disappointed with my Dyson…

I am very disappointed with my Dyson experience. My Dyson Airpurifier Humidifier + Cool broke last fall (2 years old and second unit as the first one broke right away). The part I was told it needed was on back order (for over 10 months). I had a back and forth with Dyson and no help was offered. I ordered the part once available and it still didn’t work. I ended up throwing the product in the garbage. I also had a terrible experience with the dyson vacuum. I went through 3 in the mater of 5 years. I switched to a shark and it functions great. I will never buy a dyson product again. At this price point, I expect much better a product and better service

Refund Refused

On 20th May 2025, I purchased a Dyson v15B Detect vacuum cleaner through your refurbished section for $621.49 — a considerable expense for me. Unfortunately, when the vacuum arrived, I was immediately dismayed by three issues:

1. The unit was dirty and clearly used, not cleaned or restored to “like-new” condition, as one would reasonably expect from a Dyson-certified refurbished product.
2. There was no instruction manual included, which made setup and operation unclear and challenging.
3. Most critically, the essential trigger guard component was missing, rendering the vacuum unusable for me due to my medical condition.

I had Googled this model specifically and found several answers saying it did indeed come with a trigger guard.

I contacted Dyson support immediately, expecting a solution, only to be flatly refused a refund. This was shocking, especially given the defective state of the product. I was not made aware at the point of sale that Dyson Canada offers no return option on refurbished items, which is a significant and unusual policy when compared to other respected companies such as Apple and Dell — both of which have allowed me to return refurbished purchases within 30 days.

Had I known of this no-return policy, I would not have proceeded with the purchase, particularly for an item of this price and importance. As a long-time admirer of the Dyson brand, I find this experience incredibly disappointing and far below the standards I expected.

I then wrote a letter and sent it to 4 separate, known, Dyson Canada email addresses, which was sent on the 7th of June. I have received no response to my email whatsoever, although no bouncebacks either which means the addresses are being deliverd to. I am very disappointed in the customer service and all I require is a refund which is due.

Extremely Disappointing Refund Process and Poor Customer Service

I am extremely frustrated with Dyson's refund process. I returned my Dyson robot vacuum on April 21, 2025, and today, May 8, 2025, marks 14 full working days since the return was received. Despite this, I have still not received my refund.

I have contacted Dyson’s customer service three times, and each time, I was told that the warehouse had received my item and that I simply needed to wait. After waiting the full period specified in their refund policy, I reached out again, only to be told by a representative that I would need to wait another 2–3 days.

This is completely unacceptable. The refund policy outlines a clear timeline, which I followed, but I am now being asked to wait even longer without any explanation. This has caused unnecessary delays and frustration, and I feel misled by Dyson’s team. I am very disappointed with how Dyson has handled my return and refund process.

DYSON DOES NOT PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Dear Dyson,

You have lost a customer for life. My Dyson V8 Absolute serial number W2R-US-SJE1782A

I have been a 15 year Dyson Customer having purchased one cannister vacuum and three battery stick vacuums. The initial suction and reliability of the stick vacuums is impressive… until you hit the the end of year one. This is when things start to go wrong. We have two different locations where we use two Dyson stick vacuums and we spend an equal amount of time at each location. On average, our Dysons are used 15 minutes per week, primarily hardwood floors so we are not using the powerhead. With all three battery vacuums, the units start to go into a “pulse” mode, where it is almost like the unit is starved of “air” and then they simply shut down. Dyson website and YouTube all confirm that you need to ensure that filters are cleaned and there is no debris or impediments in the assembly. Finally after this happening with our third Dyson, I decided to put in a warranty claim. THIS WAS THE START OF THE WORST EMAIL EXCHANGE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. Seven emails from Dyson, all from different people, all advising me what I need do, even though my information to them covered this off in detail. They will do everything that they can to not provide you with their contact information for a warranty department.
DO NOT BUY A DYSON STICK VACCUM. IT WILL FAIL, YOU WILL NOT GET CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YOU WILL BE OUT AN EXTRAORDINARY AMOUNT OF YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS.

THANKFULLY I PURCHASED THIS ITEM AT COSTCO SO I WILL BE ABLE TO RETURN IT. I WILL NEVER PURCAHSE A DYSON PRODUCT AGAIN.

Don't waste your money!

I have several dyson floorcare products as I own a cleaning business. When I need to replace parts that are under warranty, they're never in stock for replacement. Their process for repair and replacement is backwards, they put your name on an email notification system to notify you when the item is in for replacement. When you call them back to get the part replaced they say its unavailable and out of stock just as it was in stock. Instead of them just sending it out to the customers waiting on replacement when it comes back in stock. Their warranty is only 2 years for cordless vacuums and their parts break so easily so you are lucky if you get a couple months to use the vacuum with all the working parts before the warranty expires. I asked them to extend the warranty or refund me since the parts will never be in stock and they said that is not possible as their system cannot do that. Be very wary of this company and their fancy warranty packages.

Very disappointing experience with Dyson

I had a terrible experience with Dyson. One part of my vacuum broke after only a few uses. They didn’t have the part in stock and asked me to return the whole vacuum. I sent it back, but without warning, they sent me a different model that was $200 cheaper.

The customer service is extremely poor — they can’t solve even simple problems and communication is terrible. In the end, I still haven’t received my vacuum back. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Disappointed Customer- Save your money

Well, where do I begin? In 2007, I bought a Dyson DC07 upright vacuum for $500, and it was love at first suck. I mean, it really sucked— in the best way possible. I loved it so much, I’ve kept it around, even though I’ve had to replace the hose twice (once with the original Dyson part, and once with a generic part that still somehow works). Fast forward to 2022, and after much convincing, I finally talked my husband into upgrading to the Dyson V11 Outsize. It was bigger, fancier, and more expensive, but we were sold on the idea of it lasting as long as my old one, so we figured it was worth the investment.

Enter last month: I turn on the vacuum and… nothing. It just stops working. Just like that. So, I did what any reasonable person would do: I took apart the Motorhead to see if I could fix it. Spoiler: I couldn't. It’s dead. So, I reached out to Dyson Canada. After a brief chat, they informed me that they didn’t have any Motorheads in stock and would “contact us when they get some.” Great! I’ll just wait a few days… or weeks… or months… Except here I am, 1.5 months later, still waiting with no call and, hilariously, their website doesn’t even list the part anymore.

I’ve spent HOURS trying to find a replacement, even resorting to contacting Dyson USA, but surprise, surprise, they don’t ship to Canada. I’d be willing to drop $200 on a new Motorhead just to get my $1,100 vacuum back in action, but nope, here I am with a very expensive, very useless dust collector.

Dyson, I’m disappointed. For years, I’ve been your biggest cheerleader. I recommended your vacuums to everyone. But now, my fancy new vacuum is collecting dust— which is ironic because, you know, it’s supposed to remove dust, not accumulate it. So, Dyson, I think it’s time we parted ways. You’ve turned my once-beloved cleaning machine into just another heavy, overpriced paperweight. I’d say I’m sorry, but my vacuum can’t even pick up the pieces of my shattered expectations.

I had to return my humidifier/purifier…

I had to return my humidifier/purifier twice because it wasn't producing humidity. The first time they replaced it with a refurbished unit that didn't work either. I returned it for repair. Purolator attempted delivery today (3 weeks after I shipped it) and said it was being returned to Dyson because my apt. number was not on the shipment label. I give up!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. Received a humidifier/purifier and within a few months it started emitting a really weird smell.

I contacted them, they sent me a box to send the fan back, and then sent me a replacement.

Within a few weeks I was having the exact same smell issue. I contacted them again and they said they would set me up with a free repair this time, and let me know a box to return the fan is on the way.

2 weeks later, no box in the mail, so I contacted them again. They apologized and said they'll make sure I receive the box to send it back this time.

2 weeks later, still no box in the mail. I contacted them a third time, and the same thing. They apologize and said there was an issue or something and assured me I would receive the box this time.

2 weeks later, for the third time, still no box. I contacted them a fourth time and got the exact same responses. I was on support chat for 3 hours, and asked for proof that the box would be sent this time, either in the form of a shipping label, or a picture and they said they can't provide that. Instead, for proof they just sent me an email with a random return number. I said this isn't proof and I want to make sure I get the box this time.

After going back and forth for hours I gave up and said if I don't receive the box this time I'll be sharing my experience online, so here I am.

I don't recommend them.

Dyson Doesn’t Care About Loyal Customers and their service is a Joke!

My recent experience with Dyson customer service was beyond disappointing and frustrating. On March 8, 2025, I reached out to inquire about the 20% owner discount for purchasing their Airwrap. Instead of assisting me, both the customer service agent and their supervisor were completely unhelpful and unwilling to provide clear answers. They falsely claimed that the discount had been discontinued and that the only way to get it was by trading in a Dyson product, which is absurd. What makes this even worse?? Two of my friends received the exact same 20% discount on February 28th and March 6th without any trade-in. I kept inquiring about that and the customer service agents and supervisor didn't comment on this and were persistent on maintaining their stance while providing false information to clients. The inconsistency and dishonesty from a brand that charges premium prices are unacceptable.
As a long time Dyson customer, I expected better service. But it’s clear Dyson doesn’t care about its loyal customers. This experience has made me seriously reconsider supporting the brand. Why stay loyal to a company that offers subpar service when competitors provide both premium products and a far better customer experience? Thanks Dyson for losing me, my family and friends as your Customer. I also assure you that I will share my frustrating customer service experience with everyone so they can avoid this brand.

I bought two Dyson air straighteners by…

I bought two Dyson air straighteners by mistake. I sent one back using the label that they sent me. It was still in the original packaging. The package was accepted at their warehouse North of Toronto. I have been dealing with this for over 6 months and still have not been given my refund.

At first they claimed that I only sent back the label which is literally insane. When I pointed out that the label does not weigh 2kg they escalated it to another department. I was told on two separate occasions that I would have a refund within 24-48 hrs. Nothing.

I called again and THIS time they claimed they had ALREADY issued the credit back to the Visa card I had used. They claimed that they did this on December 10th 2024. That card was closed in Sept, 2024. At any rate they insisted they sent it and that was that.

SO, I spent MORE of my time to go to the bank that issued the card. They said there is no record of any transactions of any sort since the card was closed. They assured me that if DYSON HAD issued me a refund it would show. The bank told me that I should contact VISA as they might be able to see things on their end that the bank couldn't.

So I spent even more time with Visa. They confirmed to me that there had been NO transactions and assured me that if Dyson had deposited the refund, it would show and the card would issue a cheque to the billing address.

However, there is no record of activity of ANY sort since the card was closed. Not even an attempt by Dyson (which would also have shown).

I am frustrated beyond belief. I have all my paperwork in order and feel that I am going to have to waste MORE time and energy taking them to small claims court. I will win too.

This is either complete incompetence on the part of Dyson or there is something seriously wrong there.

Please note that I can not give a single date for the experience as it has been ongoing for months and months and months.

Horrible company with excellent marketing…

We all really need to start reading other people’s experiences with the companies that spend a lot of money on marketing and advertising. Dyson is a hype created with extraordinary marketing strategies that they have in place.
However, we don’t get what we pay for from this company. Their products are expensive and they break down within one year. Instead of fixing the issues or stop over promising, Dyson is taking the route of cheating their customers. They ask you to send the machine back and promise to send a new machine back within 18 days. However, you have to keep calling them months after sending it back to get any kind of response back. This is a horrible company with very bad customer service. On every platform they have bad reviews and they are doing a really good job at hiding them.
