Electric fire and fireplace

Ordered in November, we waited nearly 7 weeks for delivery. However, Direct Fireplaces kept us informed of progress and were extremely helpful throughout. The goods arrived on the agreed date and were very well packaged. We employed a professional for the installation, even so, the Manufacturer's instructions could have been clearer. Overall, the fire and whole set up works well and looks very good. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Instore purchase was fine, no idea on delivery date

Instore purchase was fine, but we have had not updates on when the product will be delivered, which is really inconvenient.
I asked if there was going to be a New Year sale, but i was told no. However, 2 days later, there was a sale on! Fortunately, the model i purchased was not in that sale and so I luckily did not miss out.

We are sorry for any confusion regarding sales or delivery updates. The provision of seasonal sale offers is generally decided by stock and availability. We can see that the item which you had purchased was in fact heavily discounted in the showroom as a gesture of goodwill regardless of sale status.

In terms of delivery, you should have received an email from the Dispatch team within a few days of purchase, this to include a lead time. Fireplace is better than it looks on the website. Exactly the right size and looks great. Delivery was on time and the two delivery men were very polite and helpful. We are very pleased.

Sorry for the late review

Sorry for the late review , I received my fire and surround about 6weeks ago , I am over the moon with it it totally was worth the extra week wait lol , such a friendly bunch who are very helpful, I couldn't afford a marble one but got it made by MDF and the finish is fantastic so highly recommend....

I purchased a Flueless gas fire

I purchased a Flueless gas fire. Delivery was longer than advertised but not a big issue. This seems to be a drop ship operation - the fire came directly from another company. It was well packed against shipping damage. I had a lot of trouble finding a gas fitter to install it - there is a lot of negativity against gas fires in the industry. I turned to Direct Fireplaces for help and they referred me to their sister company "directheatingservices" who seem to act as a broker/agency to engage local installers. The price quoted by the local installer was unrealistically high so after many more phone calls I finally found a reputal local company who fitted the fire in an hour at their hourly rate (no fixed price offered). I have spoken to Direct Fireplaces and they acknowledge the difficulty of finding installers which is not their fault but something to bear in mind when buying a gas fire.

We are sorry for any delay in the shipping and for any difficulty experienced in locating a fitter. Direct Heating Services as our installation team does vet and sub-contract gas installers throughout much of England and Wales; unfortunately, not every Gas Safe Registered engineer will provide flueless gas fitting services, which does mean some gaps in their coverage at present.

We are always looking to improve the level of service that we offer and appreciate your feedback regarding your experience. It's good to hear that the fire was well-packaged on receipt and we trust that you have been enjoying it now that it is installed.

Great Show room and advice
However fires are not cheap for what they are
The size of some fire are large and will not fit in a car, to charge £75 delivery plus £250 for fitting which only took 2 hours is a bit much

Fireplace arrived chipped

Fireplace arrived chipped. No wrong doing by anyone, these things happens. Communication could be better as I'm still unaware when the replacement part will be delivered.

The installation of the fire almost…

The installation of the fire almost stalled. The firebox is held in place by thin cables which are tightened using two 10mm nuts. One of the nuts did not have a thread and could not be used, stalling the installation.
Fortunately, I managed to find a replacement in my garage. However, without my nut the gas engineer would not have been able to complete the installation.

Avoid!

Extremely not happy with this company
I have place an order for electronic fireppace Evonic c1.
Delivery saying 5 -7 working days.
After placing the order I give them a call to find out about delivery time and they said they have system down and delivery will be at least 2 weeks. Such a lie!
Avoid this place!

As my colleague had explained to you over the phone, these sold out over the weekend before our team will have had the chance to update the website (this is now showing at availability from Mid Jan 2025 online).

Extremely disappointed with the service…

Extremely disappointed with the service we are receiving from direct fireplaces. After paying in full for 3 fireplaces coming to over £8,000 !! We have been unhappy with the fitting of one of the Chesney fireplaces. It was fitted on the 2nd of October and still awaiting for it to be rectified. Have phoned the showroom numerous times and emailed but don’t often get any response back. We had to actually call into the showroom at the weekend to actually speak to someone. Very poor customer service which is very disappointing with the amount of money we have spent with you. it is now the 17th November and still waiting. Such a shame as we have recommended a lot of people to you and started off with a great experience. Shame once you have the money don’t seem to be bothered.

We purchased our fire from Stanley green, Cheadle hulme

We purchased our fire from your shop on Stanley green, Cheadle hulme. The shop was fantastic to visit, with a great section of fires on display.
The member of staff we dealt with was awful, rude and patronising!
We really loved the fire so we went ahead with the purchase, however, we really considered cancelling the order and shopping elsewhere.
When collecting the fire it was the same member of staff again and again was greeted with the same patronising and rude attitude, however, he did carry the fire out to the car for us.

Really don't know how to start .Placed…

Really don't know how to start .Placed a order online with Direct fires ,order went through you are suppose to get email so that you pick your slot for delivery .
Had email from Moddelo but no time slot .I spoke to Direct Fires Victoria first thing Monday morning she spoke to Moddelo that fire was to be delivered the same day Monday which was not the case . I was on the phone nearly all day to get resolved staff at Direct fires hung up on me passed back to Victoria to try and get resolved .
I got InTouch with Moddelo they said that they didn't have my order it was a different model fire. I spoke to Victoria though out the day and asked as a goodwill to get a next delivery due to the complete mix up which she couldn't do.Victoria gave me Moddelo number me the customer to get resolved .I spoke to Will from Moddelo took on board got it resolved and personally delivered the fire on the Monday night .Will went above and beyond and cannot thank him enough .The complaint is for Direct Fires .I would expect some kind of goodwill credit as for the complete stressful situation I was put in

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the issues experienced with the delivery.

To clarify, the fire selected has an expected lead time of approximately 3-5 working days at present, and we advise that the courier will contact the customer directly for a book-in.

As our Dispatch team has confirmed over the phone with yourself and the courier, they sent you a text and email notification to advise of expected delivery on the 17/10. We understand that this was attempted and then marked as a failed delivery, for which we can only apologise on the courier's behalf.

It was after Victoria and the Dispatch team contacted our delivery partner that they themselves requested that you ring them to make a further booking. We are pleased to hear that this was resolved when Will agreed to make the delivery personally.

We do, for any delivery consignment, advise that any delivery times are estimates and not by any means guaranteed. While delays are thankfully infrequent, they can and do happen on occasion due to factors that are ultimately outside of our control.

We would however stress that our Dispatch team worked hard to get this matter resolved on the same day that it was brought to our attention, and that they coordinated as best as they could with the courier to this effect.
