The Dewalt outlet at Spennymoor has miserable rude staff, when you go in it’s almost like they don’t want to be there and don’t want you to be there either . The prices are higher than you can buy online !! They used to sell refurbished stuff but now have battered junk in. There’s several people on Market place based in Spennymoor selling Dewalt items all the time, quite obvious staff selling the cheaper items direct to their friends. If your going to buy Dewalt stick to places like power tool mate, at least the staff are pleasant and it’s a better price
Avoid
Avoid this product! The DEWALT 54V Brushless Split Boom Multi-Tool (DCMAS5713N-XE) has a serious design flaw in the attachment connector. The connection becomes loose very quickly, and tightening it causes the thread to fail after only a few uses. With the brush cutter, the retaining pin breaks under normal load. With the line trimmer, bump feeding bends the connector. DEWALT did not acknowledge this as a design or quality issue when contacted.

CAVEAT EMPTOR DeWalt service is a diservice
Have recently been in touch with DeWalt for a warranty claim on an 18v strimmer, that has failed within 12 months. This is the second DeWalt strimmer of this type that I have owned.
The first failed after eighteen months, upon which I realised that I had not registered the 3 year warranty .
Repair costs were so high that I purchased a similar new DeWalt item and made sure that I registered the warranty, registering was a faff because you had to upload obscure documents to the DeWalt website.
The second unit was a delight to use but it also failed after 11 months.
Armed with a valid warranty I contacted DeWalt customer service by phone. The address was Slough but it was only American voices that I spoke to.
After taking my details, the service agent would only advise proceeding by Email.
The DeWalt email required that I supply them with a warranty record (that could only be downloaded from their website) and the invoice that I had already uploaded to their website to implement the warranty.
I attempted to comply
I compiled the required documents as pdf files and replied to the agents email.
The email response I next received was from the DeWalt mail system, starting that my email was undeliverable.
A further telephone call to clarify that these documents are already registered at DeWalt was worthless I was not allowed to speak with the original agent.
The new agent insisted that we repeat the process, sending me an email to provide the require information. That was already on the DeWalt website but the agent has no means to review it.
I again compiled the required documents and replied to the agents email. Again the email response was from the DeWalt mail system, my email was undeliverable.
A further telephone call fortunately with the same agent resulted in me being granted permission to take the failed device to a company in Warrington, 15 miles from my home, provided that I took hard copies of the two documents I had attached to my emails.
The DeWalt system is designed to avoid warranty claims and it's not helpful at all.
That is where I stand, I am travelling to Warrington, let's hope they fix it.
I have just received an email from Bosch stating that they are closing my request because I haven't replied to them.

Dewalt are total garbage
Dewalt are total garbage, i bought two drills and an impact drill, both the drills are now faulty, the clutch has gone on one and the other just decides to go the opposite way when when loosening/tightening screws, also, got a cordless jigsaw off the company as part of my retirement, that also faulted, the blade does'nt sit in the groove, how shit can a company be, i had no luck with customer service, the said take them to the local repair, pay the money to have them diagnosed the pay for the repair, i have two 20yr old Makitas and they're still going strong, i now make it my mission to slate Dewalt, total garbage.

DeWalt DCD778 combi drill chuck fault.
Bought a new DeWalt DCD778 combi drill from Screwfix. It was a great drill until 7 weeks after I bought it, the chuck jammed solid so I took it back and got a full refund. The Screwfix website has all 5 star ratings of this drill, but when I researched the drill online, it's seems that faulty chucks is a common faults with DeWalt drills. It's a pity Screwfix only publish 5 star reviews.

I am a professional bathroom fitter and tiler, and whilst starting a job, my Dewalt 24000 large wet tile cutter decided to stop working. I rang the Warranty support line at Dewalt, and they told me they would need a copy of my receipt and warranty, then followed up with an email to that effect. I was on site, so I sent screenshots of both docs as my phone memory was full, so I couldn't download copies. I rang them later in the day to confirm. They accepted these, and I expected to receive a confirmation about when they could collect. The next day, I went to the site and checked my email, only to receive an email saying they wanted the actual PDF for the Warranty. Even though they had already told me that a screenshot was sufficent, they demanded a PDF. This is Dewalt asking me to send them their Warranty document! Another day wasted, and now I had to send them the PDF, which I did. Last thing on a Friday, I got an email confirming UPS Collection between 8 am and 6 pm. No estimated time for collection, and they insist on the device being in a box. Where on earth do I get a box that big before Monday? It's 32 inches long and 24 inches wide. I asked if they could speak to UPS so I could go purchase a BOX, and the response was, "We don't provide packaging." They obviously don't read my emails, as I just needed time to pick one up when the place opens at 8:30. Anyway, I have packed the device now (£25 for packaging) and am now sitting here not working all day, costing me money and reputation. Needless to say, I won't be buying Dewalt tools anymore, as the service is really poor!

What an absolute shit show of a company. Their customer care is non existent. Would never buy a product from them again.
What an awful company
It’s now been 33 days with a sander (waiting for it to be collected for a warranty claim ) living in my kitchen like it’s signed a long‑term tenancy agreement. At this point, it’s the most consistent presence in this entire situation.
As for the manager who was supposed to contact me. I can only assume they’ve been recruited by NASA and are currently busy circumnavigating the Moon on Artemis, because that’s the only logical explanation for communication this catastrophically absent.
If they ever return to Earth’s atmosphere, please let them know a customer has been waiting.
The level of non‑action here isn’t just disappointing — it’s genuinely impressive. It takes real commitment to achieve absolutely nothing for over a month.
So here it is, clearly and without any padding:
Someone needs to get off their backside and actually deal with this.
Not “soon.”
Not “we’ll pass it on.”
Now.
Because right now, the only entity showing any reliability whatsoever…
is the sander.
And even it looks embarrassed on your behalf.
Batteries have lasted over 10 years....
Disappointed that one of my first Flexvolt batteries only lasted 10 years..... lol
In my workshop I have around 35 DeWalt tools plus storage, trolleys, attachments, hand tools, etc...
My collection also includes 18v batteries dating back to 2013 and Flexvolt batteries dating back to July 2016, shortly after being released for the first time.
In my time as a DeWalt owner and user I've only had two tools go faulty, one was a basic 18v impact wrench which was fixed by warranty and just a wire at fault. The other tool was an 18v blower that was well used for a good 5 or 6 years so it was no surprise that it came to a natural end of life.
To say that I'm happy with my DeWalt tools and had my monies worth from them and the batteries is an understatement.
I would always recommend DeWalt and Milwaukee, as they are the same fundamentally.
DCW620NT-XJ Router Number
I purchased the DCW620NT-XJ Router and it came with a 12mm and 8mm collet not the standard 1/2" and 1/4". This has now cost me £100 more to get the fittings.
Dewalt stated each retailer sells metric or imperial. But the issue is they sell these in imperial and metric with the exact same part number. Customer support was terrible, with the only option to return it. Instead of sending the imperial sizes, and or swapping them.
Please check if you buy this model as it will only tell you whats included on each retailers site what is in the box. The part number is useless as it does not change.
So again another £100 wasted, no help or Support from Dewalt to rectify this issue. Clearly a sales and marketing scam to make you buy other parts if you do not get the correct one.

My wife bought me a Dewalt cordless drill for Christmas
I tried to register for 3 year warranty on Christmas day but this was not successful. Contacted their customer service department and told that as I am now out with their 30 day registration period I am not eligible for 3 year warranty.
Explained that whilst my wife bought this in November I was not aware of the item until Christmas day.
Absolutely disgusted.
A quality item was bought and I was expecting a quality service.

Customer service is the worst I have had in years. I bought a multi tool and was missing parts. I contacted the retailer who offered a full refund straight away. Unfortunately they dont do replacements you have to buy another one. But the price has jumped up by £45. So I contacted DeWalt who where useless said the dont carry spare parts and thats there service center. What a bunch of cowboys Good tools crap service
