You can't schedule charge time
The BP wall charger has a serious problem that it doesn't charge at scheduled times so I can't save on the cheapest energy tariff. If you create a schedule, it ignores it and charge little by little every 15 minutes. If you don't use the schedule it works ok but the current operation break the olez grant, the company pretends to be smart to receive the government money, but actually it doesn't smart. This is a fraud of the tax payers money.
Very poor service
Very poor service - two engineers visited to fix issues for the second time in a week - said they had parts to repair charging station - only seemed interested in charging up thier company vans - and then left without fixing the issue. Would not recommend at all
NEVER WORK ANYWHERE!
NEVER WORK ANYWHERE!! tried both as a member and a guest and they always give an error message
Can't get through.
Can't get through.. so far 15 hours on hold on and off... No help when answered..
First experience of using a public…
First experience of using a public charger from this firm. Turn up and my card is not recognised. Phone customer service only to listen to hold music until we’d finished doing our shopping and given up. Not impressed.
Nil stars. BP have no interest in their customers at all
Wish I’d read these reviews before I went for Chargemaster as my home unit.My unit is less than 1 year old and ,on June 17th this year I could not get it to charge either of our two pure EV’s. Just no green light at all. I immediately fired off an email to “ hereto help” (that’s a laugh for a start!) and explained that I’d done the full reboot with no success. Explained how reliant we were with no alternative fuel and asking for an engineer to check over the system as I suspected the key lock as being the issue. A week later , having had no response whatever, I phoned and EVENTUALLY got through to the help desk ( second joke) and was told “Oh yes, I can see your email but this has to be escalated to the engineers to be added to their list for attention” . I asked when I could be expected to hear from them and was told “ I have no idea, it’s not my department “.
Meantime a users forum recommended removing the app from my phone in case this helped. Whether a coincidence or not the charger has worked since then but will not accept an advanced charge schedule from the newly reloaded app. Only works on instant basis.
But wait. Yesterday- 8 WEEKS after my first email- I got a reply from a “Customer Care” Adviser ( Oh God, I can’t stop laughing now), just telling me that my system is charging. I have now cancelled my BP Pulse membership as I don’t want them to have any more of my money.
Chargers barely work
Chargers barely work. Takes ages to get through to someone and then half the staff are clueless. We are paying for a service which barely exists.
They also don't care, complaints replied with we can't help it if machines are not working.
Worse than terrible
Installation went relatively well but since then it has been a disaster, charger cuts out at random have only achieved 1 100% charge in nearly a year, it is worse than useless and can’t use off peak electricity due to the cut outs. Totally unreliable and making electric driving a misery
Don't bother
Don't bother, after over 3 months plus of trying to gat a home charger installed we have got no where.
Having competed the paperwork and sent them the further information requested we have heard nothing.
I have also chased the company via e-mail and on the phone.
1st occasion on hold for over an hour , I gave up
2nd occasion managed to speak to a customer adviser and was told that the review team would be in touch.
3 weeks later I tried for a 3rd time spoke to a customer adviser who told me that the review team would be in touch, week later no communication.
We have given up and gone through the laborious process of completing the paperwork again and have gone to another installation company.
No communication other than when you first approach them.
Very poor customer service they just want to get you of the phone.
The only consolation is that we have not parted with any money.
They are lucky to get even one star.
Our advice look elsewhere.
Not even worthy of one star
Not even worthy of one star but that is the lowest I can use to write a review. Never answer the phone, struggle to reply to email too. They happily debited my bank account twice when I tried but failed to activate two charge points in Birmingham. Email their "heretohelp" customer service team, who took three weeks to initially answer me. Since, emailed a reply to them twice for a refund but no follow up reply yet. Only been two and a half weeks right enough. Very shoddy service, don't think they care.
Rubbish product with abysmal customer service. Avoid!
I had a home charge unit installed in October 2020 and the installation was top quality. Since then I had to call BP Pulse in December regarding the unit locking up. Customer service was very poor and an engineer finally arrived 21st January! Last week the unit failed and could not be reset and true to form customer service has been abysmal. Promises to call and return calls missed over 4 days and this after reporting the fault 4 days previous. Today 30th July a contract agent engineer called to arrange what he had been advised was a new installation and was surprised to learn it would be a replacement. Not his fault but the repair is now scheduled for 20th August after my pre-arranged holidays. I will be ordering a full BEV for delivery early 2022 with a larger capacity unit and it will certainly not be supplied by BP. Under no circumstances should you order a home charger from BP Pulse.
Tried to go through the proper channels…
Tried to go through the proper channels to get my home charger moved when I was moving home but they ignored my emails so I ended up having to go through a local electrician, probably for the best
Couldn't be worse if they tried.
I travelled to Nottingham and had a number of BP Chargemaster charge points listed that I could use. When I got there I went to 4. 3 were not working and the forth took an extortionate £15 minimum payment only to not work when I plugged it in. Customer service is none existent. Truly abysmal.
Totally useless
Yet again, a public charger that just fails to initiate a charge. The unit I was using is perhaps 3 months old but the BP Pulse app constantly fails to communicate with it. If petrol pumps were this useless there’d be riots!! Absolute junk.
Customer Service is Diabolical Dont Use them Be warned
Customer service with this company is diabolical. My Charger failed weeks ago and after hanging on the phone to customer service for 30 minutes a very nice lady told me that an engineer would contact me within 48 hours. I expalined I was disabled and had hospital appointments and was assured not to worry 4 weeks later I get an email advising someone will contact me no one has and they dont reply to e mails customer service is non existent
Appalling service
Appalling service, simply appalling. Shame on Mercedes for partnering with such an incompetent supplier to install charge points for their PHEVs and EVs. Having bought the car, Mercedes applied on my behalf to BP Chargemaster for a charge point on 28th January 2021. I am still waiting for an install date. BP Chargemaster now ignore my emails completely as do Mercedes - shame on you both.
Scam ....Knock knock who's there.....not BP
Started this process 6th of JUNE with BP.... fitted 22nd August 2021..
If your reading this your like me I had it done then read reviews how stupid are we keep believing in these grants anyway to late read on.....
BP and SSE
They haven't a clue i think it's manned by 1 person takes weeks to get a reply if any always changing goal post on instalation.
I've spent £900 on electrician so far i gave them 3 months notice before my electric car arrives and still no date yet.
There is no phone number to contact them.
My car is through mobility i have moaned at them they said they get a 4 hour response funny as it's 3 days and they haven't yet, Mobility should not be using them.
BP run their operation on pictures, people rolling around in the floor taking pictures of fuse boxes etc with spinal injuries it's a joke.
Typical big company failing 🙄
Not looking forward to the future service from them no hope.
Very stressful 😫
Would I buy an EV if I knew this.... no I wouldn't.
£900 so no fuel saving for changing over, it will take a few years to get money back on the EV.
Try a different company maybe different service? Also use an independent electrician it's a lot cheaper...
Update....
22nd August had my charge point installed by SSE and they gave me a £1280 bill less the £350 old grant on insulation date they turned up and said I've done far to.much work as it's all in the costing. BP had made me spend more than I needed....MAD....
I wouldn't bother getting the grant as it's a con they just inflate the price make you do the work so £2200 later is the EV car worth it no it's not You wouldn't spend that kind of money on fuel in 2 to 3 years. My electrician he could have got charge point of the shelf between £450 and £600 and done the work for £300 so a £1000 compared to £2200 what BP and SSE charge plus the total stress of it all from them don't do it..... Stick the government grant as it's not there really good con tho.
Partial success following my blistering rant to Bernard Looney, their CEO
Those of you, my fellow sufferers at the hands of this ramshackle 'outfit', may be interested to learn that following my rocket-fuelled protest to the boss man - I wrote about it on this forum the other day - I had an email response today from his sidekick. That of itself is a 'first' for as we all know they normally don't bother to reply at all to mere customers, despite we help pay their salaries. Part of the narrative reads, "We will endeavour to provide an improved service".
On other words, PR piffle.
All it amounts to is papering over the cracks of their tarnished image.
Nothing will change and they doubtless feel that they've dealt with my representation.
At least they didn't ignore me.
I've now taken the most decisive action a disgruntled customer can, viz abandoned them altogether. I refuse to contribute a pennypiece more cash into their coffers because they don't deserve my further custom. Ultimately it's the only effective weapon we have at our disposal.
But do, do, do add your own contribution and write to Mr L. The more of you who follow my lead the more he'll get the message and finally fall awake to the wholesale reform he needs to swiftly instigate.
It's up to you.
STOPPRESS As mentioned above, I've had more than a bellyful of BP (in my book that translates as 'Beyond Pathetic') in the course of which I've today asked for a £30.00 refund. I'll let you know how well THAT goes... WTS.
Their pathetic App rarely works and call support is non existent.
Their pathetic App rarely works and I have had to resort to using my credit or debit card at a higher rate per Kw to charge my vehicle. This then appears to be a great way for this company to gain more cash by foul and cheating means, so be aware!!!. Their so called 0330 Support number never gets answered, even when calling at 01.30am (it's supposed to be 24/7)!!!! and again results in your cash being wasted as it's not freephone and more cheating from BP to gain more of your cash, Total SCAMMERS. Even at such an early hour it's laughable that their call waiting number speaks of them having a very high number of calls waiting?! BP Charge-master charging points screens never get cleaned, which is a disgrace considering the Covid situation, luckily I carry plenty of my own wipes and gloves. This company is a Joke, has an appalling lack of customer centricity and they are as they state in their title Masters of Charging you more money.
The charger didn't release my cable and it has been stolen!
The charger didn't release my cable and I spoke with customer service for help but the device didn't release my cable.
They advised me to leave my cable on the charger and a technician will come to resolve the problem, once the technician will release my cable they said that they will drop my cable off at my home address.
But, they came up with an excuse that they said the cable was stolen and it wasn't on the device when the technician arrived at the charger.
They accept their fault and promised to send a new charger cable to me but after 2 weeks there is still no answer from their support team as I emailed and called them many times.
Also, they said their manager should call me but last 2 weeks still no call.
That's absolutely frustrating me and I'm very sorry as I can not charge and use my car.
