This company doesn't honor their merchandise credit even when it states: Has NO expiration date. Can be used on ANY future purchase. NOT TRUE! Customer Service is terrible. Will route you to customer service repeatedly as if you are being sent to someone who can help, then play dumb as if they do not know what they are doing. SAVE TIME, $$$, AND AGGRAVATION SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!!!!

I placed an order for a coat, and the money was taken out of my account the same day. The next day, I received an email that stated,
"We are unable to process the credit card payment for your Chadwicks order #xxxxxxxx. The name or address given with this order does not match that of the issuing bank’s file.

Please contact us to provide the credit card information we need."

So, they have enough information to take the money out of my account, but not enough informarion to process the order???? Mine is not a new account nor is it a new address. I have never had this issue with any online order I have placed with any merchant.

I have contacted my bank to start an investigation of this fraud, and I have cancelled the order. Chadwick's does not give customers verifications of order cancellations. Chadwick's is taking their time returning the money they were so quick to remove from my account. Between this situation and the horrible attitude of the "customer service" representatives, it is a shame Chadwick's is still operating when so many honest, superior businesses have closed.

Chadwicks is sketchy AF. Placed a large order at the end of October, then crickets. The infamous website crash happened, so called customer "service." They were unable to give me an update on the status of my order, and unable to tell me when they'd be able to- or when their website might be up. Almost 6 weeks later, website is up and order has been showing my order as "in process" for several weeks. Huh. So I called customer service to cancel. Almost immediately, after they verified my info, I was told that my order was on hold and that it would arrive in 5-7 business days, since they had finally confirmed my shipping address. "Hold on," I said, "you're telling me that my order has been held up because you needed to verify my shipping address??" The reply was almost laughable- "yes, we send you a letter back in October." "You sent me snail mail?! As in a paper letter??!! Why?? You have my email- you spam my inbox at least three times a week- and my phone number, but you send me a letter? Who does that??" They again tried to send me my order, but told them that I don't want it- I don't trust them. If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that you don't throw good money after bad- bad service, a bad product or a bad experience. I'm going to call my credit card company and get a new card just as a cya measure. Because Chad, I don't trust ya.

Item was too small so I sent it back for an exchange. After three months I did not hear a word. I emailed them three times, with no response. Finally called them and was told that NO exchange had been processed at all.
I am done with Chadwicks. Terrible customer service.

I ordered product that was supposedly in stock only to receive half of the order. I've been calling for two weeks and keep being told the system is down. When I ask for a refund, I'm being told I can't receive one because the system is down. When I ask to speak to a supervisor, one is not available. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!! IT'S A SCAM!!

I believe Chadwick’s of Boston is scamming people. I have been trying to get a refund for my returned purchase since the beginning of October only to be told repeatedly that “the system is down”. Buyer beware!!!!

This used to be a great and reputable company to deal with but all has gone completely downhill in the last year. Back orders for months; ridiculous shipping charges and fees; no promotions or deals and nonexistent customer “service” (Read: FRONT FOR SCAMMERS!!!). Returns and refunds said to take at least a over a month!?! Website suddenly and mysteriously down for “maintenance”. When customer service was called to check return status was told by a foreign “representative” (hacker?) that there was a “system outage” and she was unable to help but was going to transfer me to someone else (probably to fish for more personal info) and promptly transferred me back to herself giving another name to identify herself (same voice). SYSTEM OUTAGE MY A**!!! That’s when I hung up. Almost $100 lost and no merchandise to show for it even if it was the incorrect size. At least I could have sold the other items on Poshmark if I had kept them. NEVER AGAIN!!!

No email confirmation of my phone order over 1 week ago.
A month ago I received their most recent catalog, tried to order online, got “ the website is being improved” message. I then called the number on the site to phone in my order. The sales person took my order, payment & signed me up for the “VIP” program. No email confirmation. I think I got scammed. Do not do business with this company!!

Ordered a blazer online 10 days ago. Received a confirmation that I would receive more information within 24 hours. I did not. I called this morning and was sold the system was down and someone would call me back. I did not receive a call and called back 5 hours later. System still down. Asked for a supervisor. Did not get one. Asked if there is any other way to check or does their entire company crumble when their system is down. was told that there is no other way. I asked when they expect the system to be up and I was told that they "don't know the DATE or time". Both phone calls were clearly overseas because I had to spell my last name several times (it is not difficult). I asked if they were going out of business - sure feels like it - was told "no".
I got the blazer 6 weeks after ordering and it was nice, but the customer service is still awful.

Buyer Beware. The prices seem reasonable until you see the shipping and handling charges. I was about to delete my order when I got a pop up that if I signed up for emails the shipping/handling would be free. So I signed up, but didn't credited. I called customer service and go rote lines giving me the run around. I tried, but won't order again.

My biggest issues with Chadwick’s are the charges, but I'm not talking about the price of the clothes. Two things, most important and maybe even criminal, be sure to check the amount they charge you for sales tax. Legally, they can only charge you the same as your local sales tax. At first, I noticed only small discrepancies. It was always $0.50 to $2.00 more than I should have paid. One error or just me, not a huge crime, but if they're doing that to everyone? But then I started reviewing previous orders, and on 3 different orders I was charge excessive amounts of tax. One included a $13 tax on a $63 purchase, another was $14 tax on $49 purchase. I am just beginning the battle to get that fixed.

Less important, but still devious, if you cancel backordered items, be sure to ask, then beg, then threaten to get back the shipping charges you paid on those items. (You pay that up front when you order.) Given Chadwick’s high shipping rates that amount might be significant. I once cancelled several items in an order due to months of waiting, and they owed me approximately me $5 - $6 I'd paid for shipping those items. I only got it back after several escalating messages. Again, if they're keeping the shipping paid by everyone who cancels backordered items, it's a few dollars for each of us, and a lot of money for Chadwick's.

I placed an order with Chadwicks. When I received the order I requested an exchange for a different size. I never heard back over a month. Called them and was told I'd received a refund instead. Just found out that the refund doesn't even cover the cost of the merchandise. I received $7.00 less than the merchandise cost. All total, (taxes, shipping and handling, plus the extra $7.00 they didn't refund) I lost almost $20.00. I don't have the product and I'm out $20.00. Very poor customer service. I'll never order from Chadwicks or any of their affiliated companies again.

This is the worst place and their so-called customer service is awful! I ordered two pairs of Corduroy Jeans, had to return (size issue), I sent the pants back as soo as I got them, oh, and they tried to stick me for their 14.95 a month rip off. I called customer service to say I was returning the pants and asked about the 14.95 charge I said I didn't authorize it and she said they just went ahead and put it there. Needless to say she removed it and they did credit my debit card. I am still waiting for my refund (106.00), I have emailed Customer Service to check the status of my return and I get some song & dance that it takes 4 weeks to process a return!!!!!! I don't think so I want them to check on the status and track it to tell me where it is so I will be making another call Monday. I am done dealing with them by email. And they have lost me as a customer forever!!!!!!

UPDATW: So I got my refund, They did not fund my State Sales tax, I ended up with $83.98! This place is the biggest rip-off ever. My original purchase total was 106.89. I did not get my sales tax back. They don't refund original shipping and handling, $14.95 that fine but they also charged my to return it because I used the return label they provided (said "no charge for return if if you use their label), WHAT A LIE they me no charge because we are going to screw you twice on this return. Your going to out 14.95 (original shipping & handling) and the when are going charge you AGAIN on the return but you won't know it until you don't get your money back, plus we aren't going to return your state tax that you paid on the order. We are going to take $1.00 from that to pay 1.00 on the return postage fee and then just eat up the rest on "made up" fees. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUTDOWN!!!! AND SHUTDOWN NOW. IT'S A RACKET AND THE STATE FO MASSACHUSETTS NEEDS TO INESTIGATE THEIR SO CALL BILLING PRACTICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The clothes are not of high quality. Two of the tops i ordered had what looked like a couple of tiny red dots which will not come out. The clothes fade easily.it was the wrong item, a horrible, tartan plaid, polyster I sent it back, which cost me around $15 then i call the customer service via this help which is .., they resolved my complaint very quickly sent a refund on my card their direct is given below

Got ripped out by this company years ago for over $150 worth of merchandise I paid for but never received. Fumbled upon the company again while searching for tall clothing. Read the reviews and see they are still ripping people off. Believe the reviews people. It's should be illegal for them to still be conducting business. Be aware! Don't, no matter how attractive their merchandise might be. They will take your money and send you nothing or a something you don't want.

Just awful. Couldn't order through the website because it kept rejecting my credit card, so I called and placed an order. I was assured my order would be here today. I called to check the status and was told it was cancelled. Absolutely the worst online shopping experience of my life and seriously worrying that this is a scam.

I am very upset over shipping cost. I attempted to order a light weight sweater and two necklaces. It’s bad enough it was 109 dollars but 16.99 plus what ever the tax is outrageous ! I order from a lot of other companies and never that much shipping cost! I use to order all the time before it change hands. The shipping was high too but I was working two jobs. Since I know shipping is not that much you may do better. I loved my Chadwick credit card and always paid it off. Love your things but 17 shipping is crazy!!!!

OMG, I have been ordering their Bootcut Classic Jeans for over 10 years. The company went away for a while and came back. I ordered the same size that I always ordered and 1 size up( just to be one the safe side). The ordered arrived , both pairs were way too small. I thought I give them another try , ordered 2 sizes up and they fitted the same as the other 2. I was not impressed with the quality of the material. I AM done , can no longer do business with this company.
