"I had a brilliant experience with Cabot Financial. Before I was assigned to them, I was only paying £1.50 a week and my debt was essentially going nowhere. After speaking with them, I was able to set up a much more effective plan of £110 a month.
The advisor I spoke with was incredibly understanding and empathetic regarding my working situation and my mental health struggles. She didn't make me feel pressured; instead, she helped me find a path forward.
The process was very smooth:
The Online Tools: I started with a questionnaire on their website to balance my income against my bills. It was easy to use and helped determine a repayment plan that actually worked for my budget.
The Portal: I loved being able to log in and see exactly how much was remaining. You can even adjust your details or payment amounts yourself if things change.
Zero Stress: As long as my payments were on time, I was never pestered.
I’ve now officially paid everything off! If you are worried about dealing with them, don't be. They are professional, supportive, and their website makes managing everything straightforward."

Is it fraud???
They wrote to my husband in December 2025 telling him he owed them over £10k for a debt he'd cleared in 2015! Very harassing letters, coupled with text messages. We issued them with a notification that if they continued their harassment of him we would issued proceedings against them. They did continue their harassment of him! We eventually spoke to them on the phone and told them they misused his data in order to send threats and demands for a debt already cleared, they tried to back track, claiming that they tried to write to him to find out if the debt was cleared, before issuing their distressing and incessant harassment via post and text. We requested a Subject Access Request. This has never been fulfilled.
On 7th March 2026 they wrote to him claiming they'd investigated and offered £200 to him. Only to go on to rudely state that they would rigoursly defend any proceedings that my husband issued against them for this misconduct! And that HE would be forced to pay their costs for a legitimate claim for compensation against them for the misuse of his data, data breaches and harassment. It's disgraceful conduct that will not be tolerated.
As a matter of public interest it is essential this information is in the public arena. My husband was highly distressed by the demands made by Cabot, who failed in their duty to establish whether debts they bought off other companies had been paid off or not. How many others may start paying off debts that have already been paid, due to fear from Cabots letters!! If this has happened, then it's finacial fraud!!
We will indeed issue proceedings against you Cabot, as is my husbands legal right to do so. And it will be in the Royal Courts media and communications list, due to your data misuse and violations. My husband is an IT and GDPR expert! He knows the law inside out! Your conduct is disgraceful and I fear people you have written to like this, may even take their lives out of fear! Which means this matter is of high public interest. How dare Cabot commit, what appears very much like fraud!!???

Spam calling a 12 yr old disabled child
My 12 yr old autistic son keeps getting phone calls from literally dozens of numbers that turn out to be Cabot Financial, each one leaving a msg saying to contact them for a private matter. I contacted them to advise that the number belongs to a SEND child & was told that unless they find a newer number to spam call, they'll continue to call the number listed. It appears that someone with the same name as me(not uncommon) is being chased by them, presumably for a very old debt that they'll never receive payment for. I did actually make a 2nd call to them in order to get the matter resolved, but the agent demanded personal information from me that I am not gong to provide to a company that I've never dealt with & have never entered into any financial agreement with.

After getting into some recent trouble paying a large bill, I was put in touch with Cabot Financial. From the bottom of my heart, I can truly say that this company are the nicest debt collection I’ve had dealings with, so polite, so caring! I’ve had dealings with another such company in the past and with my massive anxiety, this woman was so rude and demanding and left me shaking after the phone call. If I ever get into difficulty again, I hope and pray that I get Cabot!

False and Threatening Letter
Had an official letter through the post saying Cabot "own" my Santander account and owe them £326.15 with a threat to spoil my credit record if I don't pay. I have never had a Santander account. They obviously buy a load of bad debt at pennies in the pound and try to collect enough of it to make a profit - shitty business. In my case trying to pin the debt on someone unconnected with the account with official looking paperwork. I can fight it but if I were elderly or vulnerable I might think I should pay it.

Love keeping people on debt
I’m extremely disappointed with this company.
I have a £900 debt dating back to 2020 during COVID, which they only purchased in 2025. I tried to resolve things responsibly by offering over 50% as an early settlement and proposed paying it over three months. Instead of working with me, they refused to accept any counteroffer.
They then said they would only accept the 50% if it was paid upfront “as a gesture,” and only after that would they consider setting up the remaining balance over three months. That makes no sense and completely defeats the purpose of trying to reach a realistic settlement.
It feels like they are more interested in keeping people in debt than actually helping them clear it. I’ve dealt with other debt companies who have been far more reasonable and willing to work towards a fair solution.
Very poor experience I would not recommend.

My name is Mohammad Aleem Taj ,I spoke to your team member Sarujh today and she has shown the best customer service by listening to me and hearing my side of situation that I was in.
My personal details have been venerable since 2017 and due to that a loan on my name in 2018 was taken out which I wasn't even aware of and the bill for not paying back with penalties came upto £1415.59. I was so worried and stressed since I found out.
I actually don't know how to thank your decision making team and specially to Sarujh for closing my account without taking any money from me . All words are smaller for what your team has done for me .

Cette société me relance pour un litige avec PayPal qui n'existe pas. Ils sont d'une incroyable incorrection du fait que je refuse de leur donner ma date de naissance. Je n'ai jamais reçu de mail ou de lettre de Cabot ou PayPal. D'ailleurs si je devais de l'argent à PayPal indu fait d'un litige, ,ils me bloqueraient mon compte. Des agissements violents et d'une incorrection totale. Ils vous raccrochent au nez. Intimidation et tentative d'escroquerie ou alors ils se sont fait pirater

Ive made an arrangement to pay £35 pm…
Ive made an arrangement to pay £35 pm which they have agreed to and have been paying for over a year now with no missed payments. Now they krep ringing me txting sending lettets email from different numbers saying this agreement was voluntary and they want me to pay more. One letter even stated that the matter was sorted but they still try to contact me. Out right harassment.
