Brussels Charleroi Airport Anmeldelser 

Ho fatto uno scalo in questo aeroporto domenica 10 agosto, con 3 ore di tempo tra un volo e il seguente.
Inizialmente ero preoccupata dalle tante recensioni negative e dalle comunicazioni relative al personale insufficiente e al gran numero di passeggeri, motivo per cui ho aggiunto il fast track alla mia prenotazione. Una volta arrivata, però, devo dire che c’era sì un certo volume di persone, ma senza differenze rispetto a qualsiasi altro aeroporto.
Il personale era gentile e disponibile.
La possibilità di usufruire dell’express bag drop velocizza i tempi.
Le tre ore di tempo, alla fine della fiera, sono state più che sufficienti.

Het is een druk, smerig vliegveld. Niet schoon. Niet genoeg zitruimte. Restaurants en toiletten vies. Als je geen Frans spreekt beginnen ze al te zuchten, hoe onvriendelijk.

Zo’n deprimerende luchthaven waar “service” zoveel mogelijk vermeden wordt. De bordjes kloppen niet. De wc’s zijn smeriger dan een willekeurige snelweg wc, de shuttle laat altijd op zich wachten (en moet door 4 poortjes heen?).

Apres 3 semaines, je rentre via CRL et je découvre une fois atterri que les WC sont désormais payants 1 € et vraiment dégueulasses....que dire des 3 € la petite bouteille d'eau au distributeur. Ça devient du grand n'importe quoi

Incheck heel slecht aangegeven als je daar wat vraag in het Engels doen nog geen moeite om je te helpen security zijn echt zeiker je mag in totaal 1 L aan vloeistof meenemen over een busje shampoo van 100ml doen ze al moeilijk wc’s zijn vies stinken zo erg
Een schande personeel onvriendelijk

Familie ophalen van de luchthaven.
Dat was enorm zoeken. Een wirwar van kleine bordjes rondom heel veel terreinen met parkeerplaatsen. Nergens duidelijk aangegeven waar vertrekhal,terminal en aankomsten zijn.
Zelden zo'n slecht gereguleerde infrastructuur gezien als van luchthaven Brussel Charleroi.

Organizzazione pessima: lunghe file ai controlli per mancanza di personale, nessuna comunicazione sul ritardo del volo, T2 con pochissimo spazio per i passeggeri in attesa del volo ed ambiente veramente sporco.

Peggior aeroporto d'Europa. Confuso, lento, piccolo, affollato, personale scortese, toilette a pagamento, pochi servizi. Un incubo!

Charleroi is an airport I go through every month for the last 12 years and I usually am quite happy with the service level knowing not to expect much. However, this last time in August was probably the lowest of the lows. Overzealous security staff caused massive queues up until the entrance of the Terminal and probably had some passengers missing their flight. I was lucky enough to pick the fast track before deciding to join the queue (but still spent more than 20 mins). Not really sure what caused this absolute pandemonium. Previous summers were nothing like this. Something changed as I never ever had to spend more than 30 mins in a regular queue. It looks like G4S (the security company in charge) decided to apply extra scrutiny at the worst time in the year...possibly under pressure from authorities or airlines to deter customers? Standing more than 2 hours in a security queue would have this effect. Selling tickets is one thing, delivering the service seems to be quite another.

Geen positieve commentaar over deze luchthaven. Totale chaos, weinig personeel, dus lange wachttijden, en…enkel met kredietkaart, 1 euro betalend dus,(!) kan er een toilet gebruikt worden, dat op de koop toe nog vuil is ook. Hopelijk komen de autoriteiten hier tussen want op geen enkele luchthaven betaal je voor de toiletten!
Want dan zie je mensen, niet in bezit van kredietkaart, die met 1 euro in de hand, verlegen moeten vragen aan anderen (mét kredietkaart) om hen binnen te laten in de toiletten..! Komaan mensen!
Nergens hebben we zo n toestanden meegemaakt.
Zeer teleurstellend!

Ik ben dit jaar 2x via Charleroi gevlogen, waarvan 1x in juli/aug. Ik ben Nederlandse dus beperkt in m'n Frans. Ook al is t soms chaotisch iedereen helpt je. Op de parking maar ook security personeel is gewoon redelijk tot vriendelijk, niks mis mee. Hou wat extra tijd beschikbaar om door de security te komen maar verder niks mis met deze luchthaven.

Charleroi Airport is the worst I’ve ever seen!
How can any airport allow its staff to behave with such arrogance like they do here?
What the hell does bad Belgium think of itself?
They’re drug testing almost everyone and no one gives a damn about this disgusting behavior. I honestly think this airport should be shut down.
I’ve never encountered worse assholes at security checks than here.
Arrogant, stupid, brain-dead people who somehow got a position of power…
Avoid this place like the plague – I’d rather take a train than go through this airport again.
How can a country that represents the European Union allow this kind of conduct?
The airport is staffed by nothing but scum – it’s outrageous.
I wish no harm on anyone, but to the woman who checked us, I wish her the absolut worst.
Lesson learned? Never again Charleroi Airport, even if it means dying on the way!

We came to the airport 2 hours earlier and still missed the flight because of the queues. No compensation was offered because: was "It is written on the airport website to come 4 hours earlier". Who checks the airport website before flying??? Half the plane was then in the queue for new tickets. It's overcrowded, dirty and miserable. Avoid at any cost!

Epouvantable !
Déposer un passager DEUX minutes chrono m’a coûté 6€ (le mois dernier 3€). Pour les passagers, les toilettes sont payantes, mais appelons les plutôt des « chiottes », car l’hygiène y est totalement absente. Et comme par hasard, c’est un aéroport géré par les Pieds-Nickelés de la région wallonne … pour le parking et les toilettes des millions d’euros doivent atterrir chaque année dans les poches de quelques politiciens. Un petit calcul rapide m’a fait apparaître que la recette journalière « parking » devrait atteindre 10.000 euros. Mais … je suis peut-être loin de la réalité.

Review: Charleroi Airport – 28th July - The experience at Charleroi Airport yesterday was, in a word, disgraceful. We arrived at 1:00pm and opted — foolishly, in hindsight — for fast track. The wait? Over 1 hour and 15 minutes with only 13 people in front of us! Fast track was, in fact, slower than the standard queue. Staff offered no updates, no apology, and no urgency.

When we finally reached the top, the security team were laughing among themselves, entirely disengaged from the job or the passengers in front of them. The professionalism was non-existent. The culture? Toxic — indifferent, discourteous, and outright hostile.

I watched one woman have her bag searched seven times. Not because of any threat, but seemingly because they could. Her clothing, jewellery, and personal items were pulled out and strewn across the inspection bench with zero care. No explanation. No apology. Just contempt. She left in tears. The staff found nothing — and still tossed her bag on the floor and told her to take it. She asked for the security woman's name who refused and walked away.

Others witnessed it too. This wasn’t an isolated incident — it was a symptom of a broken culture. No training, no customer service, no standards.

I’ve seen low-cost terminals before — this was something worse.

Never again.

Absolutely the worst airport I've ever been to. Confusing, ugly, huge queues for security (over an hour), chaotic with poor signage, you have to pay a euro to use the toilet and they're filthy, shit food outlets and NO water fountains! (Which is a first for me and I'm pretty sure is illegal at this stage. The plastic waste is horrendous and the price - over 3 Euros for a small bottle of water. Shocking.
I have nothing positive to say about the airport. If you can avoid Charleroi, do. I will never fly here again.
I would give it zero stars if it were possible. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

It's the old saying, I'd give it zero stars if I could.

Arrived with hand luggage only at T1 yesterday (27/7/25) just under 2hrs before our flight to Manchester, the queues were obscene and chaotic, the worst I've uncounted at any airport in Europe and I fly on average every 3 weeks to various airports around Europe and this was a normal day without disruptions.

Only two security lanes in operation, the slowest yet, one hour 30mins to clear security and them I thought we've cracked it, just passport control to go and we'll make the flight, how wrong could I be, the queues at passport control were at least another hour.
No staff pulling people from queues like at every other airport in Europe, who were getting close to flight departure time, no staff visible at all (we tried to find staff), passengers getting angry at what few staff were manning the two slow security machines and the only two passport control booths that were working, complete and utter shambles.

Flight gate closed whilst we were in the passport queue, missed the flight you armature morons, what an embarrassment your airport is, management need replacing immediately and someone half competent brought in to sort out the shambolic chaos.
Avoid Brussels Charleroi Airport if at all possible.

The queues for security and border control were absolutely chaotic and poorly manned today. Staff very unhelpful in offering any advice or assistance.
Almost missed my flight in spite of arriving at airport 3 hrs ahead .

Katastrophe!
Ein viel zu kleiner Flughafen für eine riesige Abfertigung. Nachdem man das Großgepäck aufgegeben hat, muss man sich an einer endlos langen Schlagen anstellen, bei welcher man draußen min. 1 Stunde und drinen eine weiter Stunde anstehen muss - wenn man Glück hat. Lediglich zwei Security Check Schalter gibt es wo die meisten noch anstehen, lang nach der Boarding Zeit, viele kommen nicht weiter obwohl das Gate bereits geschlossen ist.

Also auf jeden Fall 3-4 Stunden vor Abflug am Terminal sein. Mit dem Fast Track kann man sich viel Zeit sparen. Wenn möglich den Flughafen meiden. Für mich der schlimmste, unkoordinierteste Flughafen bislang. Ich würde 0/5 Sterne vergeben.

Ryanair ci ha fortunatamente avvisati di presentarsi con larghissimo anticipo per problemi si controlli. Coda eterna di circa un’ora per arrivare al controllo. A me e mia figlia hanno controllato trolley e borsa in maniera poco cortese e buttando all’aria il contenuto.
