Had a review asked of me during purchase which was fine as everything went smoothly, but since then has been an absolute nightmare as they sold me a car without a logbook (red flag in itself) but told me 2 weeks and it will be with me, this obviously never came and 2 weeks turned into 2 months and constant messaging they finally taxed the car for me (unable to do on my side) but this is now the second time they have randomly rescinded this and left me unable to do anything, it’s an absolute joke and has meant I am currently unable to drive the car I pay for, from their side apparently the person who previously owned was being a pain but that’s not my issue and has been too long now, very efficient in selling you the car but good luck after that.

I would give a zero if I could. Absolutely disgusting customer service, company and business in general and the BIGGEST SCAMMERS ever. Cars that shouldn't be road worthy, bodged so that they can sell for A LOT more than what they are worth and then as soon as they break (which is within the first week), they refuse to do anything and say that warranty (which is for about a year-2 years) does not cover it but it absolutely does. They then ignore all of your messages for weeks on end. As a young female going to buy a car by herself, they took advantage by lying and trying to get as much money from me as they could. I part-ex'ed a car and they started it and told me the clutch was going and they would only sell me another car if I paid them £700 there and then to get it fixed. This was a fairly new Audi A1- turns out nothing was wrong with the clutch but they took my money. Whilst purchasing the new car, they basically refuse to let you leave until you give them a positive trust pilot review, and even take your phone to log in and start it for you. Honestly, no words for this vile company which is run by a bunch of scamming cowboys. Please please PLEASE do not use this company unless you want to be left 1000's of pounds short and with a car that doesn't work properly and that you struggle to sell after. Strongly advise to go elsewhere. The car I looked at was stuffed in the back of another yard and was filthy, scuffed, had a chip in the window screen, the air con needed regassing, had several dents in the side, the bottom of the car had lumps of rust just falling off, the internal locking system was breaking, all of which they had bodged so they could sell but as soon as purchased and driving for around 3 days, started to all become issues again, and they had lost the spare key so left me waiting 2 weeks to collect whilst they 'bought a new one'. They didn't buy a new key, they had found one and it was stained, sticky and the rubber on the key was peeling off. After having all these issues, I found out that the car was only ever worth around £6000, yet they sold me for £15,000 because I was none the wiser. Even if you aren't a female, they will try their hardest to scam you and take your money for an awful car. Steer clear from Browns

Great customer and sales services, got a beautiful car from Browns Car Company

My husband paid £100 deposit to view a car, which was not available for view in the yard. He was told , if he does not like the car, the deposit will be returned. We called a day before to inform them we do not want to view the car anymore, and was told the car is ready for collection and the deposit would not be returned. We never said we buying the car. Only wanted to view it. I still will escalate my issue with the relevant people and try to get my money back, as the person there was not helpful at all.
Furthermore, when we have contacted the seller, he was again rude and blocked my number.
….Furthermore, they contacted me, after this review was posted to apologise for their mistake and asked me to delete this review in return to have my money back. That has not happened, even I was naive enough to believe and deleted the review.

Bought a Kuga few weeks ago and all good so far. Everyone at Browns car company was really nice, we dealt mainly with Ricky and he was very helpful. Sorted out the paper work for us and everything went smoothly. Really good service; I will highly recommend them to friends in future. Cheers Pete and Dawn

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

If I could give a rating of zero on here, I would.

We went and looked at a car, test drove it, ran the figures for finance and said yes we love it, we'll take it.

One of the other salesmen said that the xar was already sold, the manager Ricky said no you're here now, I'll take a deposit from you and tell the other guy it's broke or something as he hasn't even seen the car.

Fast forward a few days, our finance had declined due to being self employed - which we advised would happen. We weren't told this though, just that the finance was struggling so we said no problem, we'll get a bank loan and pay cash. When calling the next day to confirm we will be there to collect the car, Ricky told us it was sold to the other person, claimed they didn't know what we were doing RE payments and there was nothing that could be done.

We are now stuck with a bank loan, no car, and trying to get our deposit back with our Solicitor already taking steps to proceed.

Conveniently, 15 minutes after the phone call with Ricky, we went to get our deposit back and speak to them about how much they have screwed us over and he had left for the day and they couldn't give us a refund as Ricky wasn't there - apparently if we send our bank details to a WhatsApp we will get it back - who knows with that!

If I could give 10+ stars I would Ricky has been amazing from start to finish couldn’t recommend him and browns more I would definitely recommend buying a car from here

I saw a car I was interested in advertised, so I popped down to this company and was greeted by the most helpful sales guys. I couldn’t ask for a better service. Anyway, I purchased the car and it is absolutely beautiful. Such a wonderful experience when buying a car. Thank you guys for all your help.

Just returned home from a 150 mile+ round trip to Browns. I now know, and would advise anybody, not to even think about crossing the road to visit them.
Before leaving home I phoned to check that the vehicle (a Range Rover Evoque priced at £14,700) was still available and was informed that it was, and that they would get the vehicle out so that it was accessible. Upon arrival I was told it was still at the back of what appeared to be a breakers yard and they hadn't had a chance to clean it, despite them being next to a car valets. After a breakdown truck (seems apt after reading reviews on my return!) was moved we were able to get to the vehicle. I can honestly say I have never rejected a vehicle as quickly as this one! Between the photos being taken/ posted online and my arrival the vehicle looked as if it had been used for off-roading on a farm and used for transporting cattle. The general condition of the car was filthy inside and out, the bodywork was scuffed in several places, the front footwells were full of mud and the once white(?) leather seats were a strange creamy yellow colour. I declined the opportunity of getting into the vehicle as it was so obviously a health/bio hazard. Judging by some of the other reviews, I got off lightly by only losing a day of my life I'll never get back.

We bought our Honda from them a couple of weeks ago. Ricky was very helpful right from when we turned up unexpectedly and asked to test drive it, multiple phone calls from us with queries and after we’d collected it by arranging the tyre changes as agreed.

I bought a BMW X5 in January 2025. staff especially Tyler was very friendly and I was happy with the service at first. The alloy locking nut was missing from the car as such we were told to purchase it from BMW and Browns Car Company would reimburse it. However, I’ve been waiting on a reimbursement for my alloy locking nut since then as the car didn’t come with one. I have chased a number of times and get the same response that it will be done in the next 48 hours. Similarly the alloy refurb was done whilst the alloys were on the car which means there were paint splatter at the bottom side of the car. In addition the alloy bolts were also painted over. This was a cowboy job.

When I first viewed the car, the ad blue light was on, suggesting a top up is needed as such it was agreed that the Adblue would be topped up before taking the car the following week. When I picked up the car, the blue light was gone.

On a more serious note, via a diagnostic a local mechanic informed me that Adblue is turned off. Adblue is a legal requirement for any diesel car if adblue system is present. Now I am not suggesting that the company switched it off however it is a coincidence that the Adblue light was on and when I took it home and I found through diagnostic that it is off. If the cars ECG bypasses adblue then there would not be a sign on the dashboard when i viewed the car. Cases where adblue is switched off is when there are issues with the system such as Nox sensors. Anyways, I asked for a full refund or a like for like, same colour model to be sourced or for them to cover the cost to switch the adblue back on through BMW. The company were adamant that they will switch on using their mechanic or allow me to pick a car from their stock. I did not agree to this as I spent a lot of money on the car, the specs and the colour was what i wanted. In addition one small mistake with coding back the Adblue could have severe consequences on the running of the cars ECG, as such i was adamant that going through BMW is the best option to ensure it’s done properly. I sent numerous chasers including chasers for my locking nut reimbursement. I now had to source the coding out of my own pocket.

Today’s day there are no responses from Browns Car Company

Piece of advice, if you are purchasing a car make sure you don’t commit to any reimbursements, have them purchase what ever thats needed. make sure the car is hundred percent perfect for you before taking the car away from the premises.

It’s such a shame that we experienced this after the purchase as the sales rep was very helpful and friendly.

I have learnt my lesson from now. I will only be buying from BMW approved dealership.

Outstanding customer service from start to finish. Everyone in the team was extremely helpful and made the sale easy, quick and stress free. They went above and beyond ensuring the car was both aesthetically and mechanically sound before I took it away. I tend to change my cars evey year and the service received at Browns has beaten any car purchase so far. Very pleasant experience. Highly recommend.

Couldn't be happier with my experience, Tyler and the rest of the staff have been so helpful and took time to help me with buying my new Audi TT! They have always been on the end of the phone when needed and were super friendly and helpful! I would strongly recommend this company, buying a new car is daunting sometimes if you don't know what you are doing, but I couldn't have picked a better company to go with! thank you!
