I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this company.
Just one week after purchasing my car, it broke down. The red engine management light was on, and that the clutch had been put together using super glue and cable ties (the red engine management light was a separate problem) . This was completely unacceptable and, in my opinion, put everyone in the vehicle at serious risk. The car failed and came to stop on a busy motorway, creating a genuinely dangerous situation.
After reporting the faults, I expected the company to take responsibility. Instead, they refused to provide a refund or resolve the issue. I spent over six months trying to sort things out directly with them, but they showed little interest in helping or treating me fairly as a customer.
In the end, I had no choice but to take legal action. After more than seven months of unnecessary stress, time, and expense, the court ordered the company to take the car back. This entire situation could have been resolved much earlier if the company had acted responsibly and respected its customers.
The experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would never buy another vehicle from this company and would encourage anyone considering purchasing from them to do their research carefully before handing over any money.
Also, look past the good reviews as these will pressure you to write a good review about them while in the shop as they done with us.

Would recommend NOT buying a car from here. Sold me a car without completing a single request they said they’d sort on collection. Sold me a warranty that has been totally worthless. Car broke down the day after I took it home (to be told I may have stalled it)
They then kept hold of car for weeks with no communication and lied about saying it had work done at main dealer ship. I’ve now lost thousands on a car that doesn’t work.

Had to continually chase for documents (receipt of sale, service report etc) -not a disaster in itself but annoying. Then I noticed the brakes were noisy- and getting noisier
Took car to local workshop ( good reputation, I use them already for other vehicles)-turns out ALL the brake discs were worn out/corroded/warped/below minimum thickness etc.) despite having just been MOTd AND passing through their own workshop subsequently. Had them all replaced with new pads at a cost of around £1100. When I approached Browns they told me I should have come to them first and they will not reimburse. Were not even remotely interested in the safety implications, but happy to engage a solicitor to politely tell me where to get off..
They've got a very concise complaints policy procedure, unfortunately doesn't actually mean very much. Have registered my case with the Ombudsman- will find out one day if that's worthwhile or not. On the list of car dealers I've used over the years, this is definitely at the bottom of the 'satisfaction' list by a long way

For anyone who believes they have found the right car with this company, I strongly advise you to reconsider.
Please do not make the same mistake I did by ignoring the negative reviews — they accurately reflect what this company is about.
On 19 December, I visited their showroom to view a Porsche Cayenne. The car was running, but it had multiple issues, including an oil leak. Ricky assured me that all the problems could be easily fixed and convinced me to leave a deposit.
After two weeks, I had received no update, so I started calling him. After numerous attempts, I finally managed to speak with him. At that point, he informed me that the car was not fixable and promised to return my deposit.
Today is 11 June — 6 months since he took the deposit — and I have still not received my money back. Despite this, the same Porsche is still being advertised for sale.
I strongly recommend that if you are considering buying a vehicle from this company, you bring an independent specialist to inspect the car before paying any deposit. Once they have your money, you are not getting it back.

Tyler was very helpful and chatty! I arrived 10 mins before close and tyler still was very friendly and showed me around a car.
From then was a smooth and quick sale , the finance was all dealt with seamlessly and im extremely happy with how everything was handled.
A fresh mot and service and car was cleaned wonderfully.

Bought a car from Browns Car Company in July and it turned into nearly 6 months of stress, excuses, and wasted time.
The frustrating thing is that the faults were not even major mechanical failures, mainly the TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) and suspension issues. Yet Browns seemed completely incapable of fixing them properly despite having the car back countless times.
I was promised before purchase that all dashboard warnings would be cleared and the car would be fully serviced and MOT’d. That turned out to be untrue. Within days the faults appeared and from then on the car was constantly back with them.
Over the next 5 months:
• The car repeatedly came back with the same faults still present
• At one point it came back worse than before
• I had over 5 courtesy cars, several of which were not road legal (no MOT, no tax, faulty headlights, no heater, etc.)
• I made 40+ calls myself, my wife made 60+, plus endless emails and WhatsApps
• I also had numerous calls with companies Browns had outsourced the repairs to, because Browns kept fobbing me off, and even those companies commented on how difficult Browns were to deal with
• I formally rejected the car under consumer rights, but was ignored/fobbed off repeatedly
To make matters worse, my mother had just died before I bought the car, so this was already an extremely stressful period in my life. Browns showed absolutely no care whatsoever for me as a customer. Their customer service was atrocious from start to finish.
In the end, after nearly 6 months, I had to organise the repair myself and Browns simply supplied the parts and paid the bill.
I am sure Browns will reply to this review with excuses or their version of events, but honestly, how can anyone defend this level of service? Make your own mind up.
Also, trust your instincts. When you walk into the “showroom office” you get a feeling that something is not right. I ignored that feeling because I wanted the car. I should have trusted my instincts. If you get that feeling too, walk away.
DO NOT BUY FROM BROWNS unless you are prepared for endless hassle and stress. If you do buy from them, pay by credit card and never pay the full amount until every fault is genuinely fixed.
