3 months of constant breakdown hell affectedy health
3 months of hell, 8 engine breakdowns in 7 weeks on a 2020 low mileage (30k) Tuscon. Some of the repairs only lasted half a day before failing again
Returned to Brilliant Motors from the Midlands by both the RAC and AA on three seperate occasions using 4 relay trucks.
So I only had 3 weeks using the car for an odd few days here and there, the rest of the time it was in their workshop or awaiting return or collection.
I travelled there by train twuce to collect the repaired car.
Communication was dire, I had to constantly push them for action. I lost 10 days of work with all the repairs. I paid close to a main dealer price so I expectrd much better treatment and quality.
Breakdowns
1 Cam shaft bearing shattered causing engine to stop dead in the middle of a busy road
2 Limp mode engine failure caused by injector problems
3 Injector 4 replaced
4 Injector heater controler failure
5 Aircon gas empty on colletion
6 Camshaft cotter pin shredded
7 Check engine light on 3 seperate occssions from day 1
8 Strong smell of oil and diesel inside the car from day 1
I previously had a diesel Tuscon fir 8 years that did 115k miles with zero problems
The final curtain call on the day of the camshaft bearing repair, after 150 miles the car would not start and the dashbord warning lights lit up like a Christmas tree🥵
The AA took it back by relay to Brilliant for good this time. 🥳🥳🥳 RiP
I can't see how this 30,000 low miles Tuscon could have so many faults if the mileage was correct.
I should have read the reviews before taking such a risk with £17,000.00.
Luckily my finance company got a refund after 28 days of returning the car, but brilliant, they charged me £500 mileage for the 3 weeks that it did work on and off, although temporarily.
Would you risk buying from a dealer like this? Better live on the same street so they can fix it faster....
