Worst experience/ racist/ unethical
A client before me went to this bank to open a payroll account endorsed by a company here in the Philippines. (note that this is main branch for this company which means all of their foreign employees open an account in this BPI Branch).
After waiting for almost 2hrs outside, they finally called him. Right from the door, the branch manager (a woman) immediately told him that he cannot open an account because he's a 'Bombay'. This is disgusting and racist! (Note that my he is not even Indian which they referred as 'Bombay'. You cannot judge the person by how he looks.
You may have policies that you need to follow but this is not how you treat people! Do not ask them where they are from before looking at their documents. This is inappropriate!
- Assist them like anyone else, greet them like how you greet your so called 'Rich' clients, ask them to sit, ask for documents such as passports or any ID
- assess the documents properly (to see where they're from)
- If they do not qualify, explain it to them in a respectful manner
NOTE: Make sure you know Immigration laws for foreigners. The manager asked for 'Work Permit' when he's under Temporary Residence. (TRV holders are exempt from securing an alien employment permit should they wish to be employed in the Philippines).
Please train your tellers and manager in this branch especially when it comes to dealing with customers to ensure overall customer satisfaction.

Highly recommended to no one
Highly recommended to no one. The service displayed is terrible. When you transfer money from Bpi to Palawan and needs to rectify only just for one letter mistake but advised to cancel and wait for 10 business days. Considering the transfer is very urgent. How could you let the customer wait instead coordinate it with your tied up partners and do what is necessary. Your excuses were so lame and could have done some alternative ways to resolve the issue. I have asked to put me on automated survey to provide feedback and was told you don't have that system when in fact, it helps to improve your incompetent service.

Their customer service are so very helpless. My parent cannot open account for her job without any reason. I will give 5 stars if you open account for my parents or i will leave 1 star forever.

An Easy Pass
I'll break down my experiences so far:
1.) Their ATMs are constantly offline. If BPI can see this, they can check that my account barely uses their ATMs. Instead I use different banks to conduct my business, not out of choice but as a necessity because their ATMs are poorly maintained.
2.) Long wait times. This one I kind of understand, and they did provide a means in making it shorter but its still a hassle nonetheless.
3.) Bad Reputation. Just look at these reviews. Also keep in mind they had a breach back in 2017 due to "human error". So with that, they're also not the safest bank.
4.) Bad Customer Service. As someone who was worked in Customer Service, I can tell you with confidence that BPI does a terrible job at it. One of my most recent moments is when I was unable to get my card due to my schedule and as I was explaining myself, you can tell the man behind the counter was not listening to me. Only waiting for me to end so he can keep repeating that lines "That's not an excuse."
5.) Garbage App. Don't get me wrong, the app is decent... if you can log in. Just go to their twitter and look for a tweet about the app and I can guarantee you that most of the comments is how to log in. The app only has the options of "Forget Password" and not "Forget Username" (Which you need access to in order to reset your password.)
I went to BPI to assist me in this issue because I used to have an account with them through my job, the problem was that job was from 6 years ago and I no longer remember my username. Now, I could always just make a new account, the second problem was my email was already linked to my old job account so it can no longer work. I asked if they can just remove my email from their data and I'll just upload it again and they said that was not an option.
Finally, they told me to INPUT A FAKE EMAIL and just change it later... this company... who holds thousands of peoples money.. asked me to USE FAKE information just so I can have access to my funds online. Which I did and it turns out I cant even change my email for later, so yeah...
6.) Terrible Couriers. I got my account withheld from me once because I never received their "Thank you letter". According to the courier, there was nobody to receive it.... even though I worked from home and can be accessed via doorbell. They told me they need me to go to the bank and provide paperworks as proof of residence. (I would have to miss a workday) When I asked if they can just resend it, they said that was not an option.
Overall, just get other banks out there.
Customer hotline
Their customer service line is not working. Tried to open an account online, didn.t know that it would be tagged as branchless. Everytime you have a concern with your account, you have to call their customer hotline but no one answers. such a waste of time.
Awful bank
First off, their rewards suck. Now, I called them to ask for help about my credit card payment somehow not being posted on their end. And their representative only asked for proof of payment which I don't have cause I paid thru an app and usually don't have any need for the said receipt. Instead of trying to contact the concerned party, she only explained that we won't get anywhere without the receipt. That may be the case but at least try to let the concerned team know and maybe look to it.
Now I have to go through all the hassle of contacting different teams which shouldn't have happened if there wasn't a problem on their system. Pretty awful experience overall.

It's been 2 weeks since I emailed them about my inquiry up to now I got no response from their customer service. :( I badly needed their response since I'm working from home and I linked my payroll to my savings account.
I gave 3 stars because I have a great experience in BPI Family Savings Bank Guadalupe before opening the account and during updating.
Worst Customer Experience
The customer service number is impossible to reach. I had Transferwise transactions before, and it took almost 24 hours to get the money and that is on a good day. If it is a holiday, then you are in for a shock. One time I had to ask my employer in Canada to send the money early before the new year otherwise I'm going to receive the money in about a week. Apparently, their system shut down on weekends and holidays, while most banks are BAU. This is the greediest bank as well. They are more concerned about deductions than keeping their customers informed about deductions. And one has to navigate a web of red tapes before you get your answer. And the answer is unsatisfactory. Keep away from this bank as much as you can. Run if you must.
