Our corporate accounts were garnished by BIR in 2014 and BPI promised that they will released the funds when issues are clear or after 6 years from time of garnishment. Even with constant follow-up, its been 10 years, BPI keeps asking many many documents JUST TO RELEASE OUR FUNDS TO US. BPI IS THE WORST BANK TO OPEN YOUR ACCOUNT!

had an excellent service from a staff called Jensen or Jansen? He's very helpful and so quick. He processed all the things within a couple of minutes .. He's also knowledgeable with what I'm asking so ended up opening an account for OFW.. Great job Jansen!
Doesn't worth your time and money
The worst bank in the universe, which isn't worth the time you spend on it and your money. I can exactly say it is the worst bank I have ever experienced.
The mobile app has design and functions from the 20th century and doesn't fit even the lowest expectations. You even can't request bank statements for specific dates online, they provide only for 4 periods per year.
Do you have a problem with their bank? Of course, it's only your problem, not yours, because the customer service is not interested in solving it.
Highly recommended to use another bank to save your nervous system and money.
OFW ako wag magbukas ng account dito sa BPI
For All Filipino OFW's don't open account in Bank of the Philippines Island if you have close it go to other bank like Landbank. As others complained they have (very, too much, over to the max) terrible customer service, and I will name Ralph Laurenz Manuba-The BPI Online Team as one of them. My only problem is changing my mobile number. I have done the procedures and requirement they require only in the end they require additional requirement that is not easily attainable in my location-Saudi Arabia.
And i did not see any reply or apology from reviewers. Or maybe they don't know Trustpilot
Customer service worst service…
Customer service and folks here just don't care. If you're a regular customer, if you have issues, they don't care. Called multiple times, longgggg wait time, like an hour so I ended it, tired waiting. Multiple chats and agents are just like robots with no real empathy. Always telling you to wait doe an update or tells you, please reachout again later today to get a feedback. Looks like they just want to escape. I seldomly have a good experience with their customer service, I feel with their tone, they don't have the real care, it's all about the paycheck, not real customer-obsessed, and it s**ks!!!!!!!

The worst of the worst bank. The way they operate is not efficient at all. They charge fee for useless stuff also.
BPI customer service was poor
BPI customer service was poor. It took 3 people just to reach to the right person and spend almost half an hour just to reach them.
BPI rip-off 15% fees
BPI ripped me off with a nearly 15% fees charged for a foreign transfer of around PHP20,000.
On top of that they will not answer my emails complaining.
Watch out for these guys!!

BPI is very hard to deal with. No consideration for customer. In the last year they have made ALL Online login and transactions to be done through Cell phone. No other bank I know of has this!? What happens when I travel overseas??? I can not view nor transact online?

All negative reviews here was true, I also experience by phone call and email. No one will help you esp. for fraud case they will waste your time and no help from their side.
Bad Customer service of BPI Philippines
2 agents transfer the call and they cant escalate the situation for having a fraud to disputing the charges they don't want to help you about for the sending documents for disputing the charges.. red flag for the BPI Philippines Customer Service.👎,🚩
I would choose another bank if I were you, not this.
One simple request to change a mobile number takes them 2 months to do, long queues on customer hotlines, bosses are not concerned with complaints, pretty much shows incompetence! What's so difficult about changing a phone number in the system? Their OTP won't work if you have a wrong number, but a simple request takes ages to get resolved!

Very bad experience with phone banking
Negative rate if available
Negative rate if available. They have the poorest customer service. As an OFW, I can't get hold of their support.
1. I emailed multiple times with no responses
2. Asked for a callback, never got any
3. Sent tweets and chats on social media, no solution.
4. I Gave them an international call that I paid every minute and have not connected. I gave up at 1 hour and 38 minutes of hearing their crap waiting call tune.

Credit Card Hacked - Poor Handling of Situation
If I didn't follow up everyday, I dont think my complaint would have been handled. My Credit Card was used in Hong Kong for a P43 000 purchase for Food Panda. There was no OTP or Authorization whatsoever. They told me it will take 3-5 days to get sorted but it took them almost 2 weeks to do so.

Poor customer service hotline. I just want to verify a transaction because the mobile app doesn't have sufficient information. Dialed their hotline at 6 PM waited till 830 PM still im hearing all phone bankers are busy. Their customer service hotline is crap!!

Today November 8th 2023 before you can open your account on your mobile phone you need to get a code number which is sent to your mobile phone. BPI keeps making banking online more difficult first that crazy app and now this. Older people are going to find this very confusing.

I am extremely disappointed the way the situation was handled. I have always valued the services that you provide however this experience has left me with a negative impression of your bank. This new app is a whole new struggle to customers who are living abroad . Why do I have to spend money just to send an international text from BPI to get my code so that I can register in their new app?Who do I have to spend money to activate my roaming services when in fact it’s the BPI who decided to change ? I am sad to say that despite making international calls to Pasong-Tamo branch and the customer care numbers, there has been no action taken to date. It is very disappointing that even such small requests can’t be timely fulfilled by a bank of your stature.
