Unhelpful and apathetic
I wanted to talk to someone about which clay pigeon thrower would be the best option for me. Went in the shop and couldn't get a hold of anyone that knew anything about it. I called customer service and even more unhelpful. She said no one is available to talk, the shop if busy and to call back in 20 min. She gave no solutions and clearly showed she did not care and wanted to get off the phone. This was my first experience with Bass Pro and surprised how bad the customer service was.
Pro member since 2004. No longer.
Searching for products is like playing darts. Problem is very rarely can you hit the bullseye. They ventured away from being a Goto store to find what you need and they sell the same thing everyone else sells. I had better luck with gander mountain on finding the real outdoors gear. Bass pro has turned boojey and apparel heavy. Can’t walk through the store without someone stepping directly in front of you stopping you trying to get you to get a CC or time share. Quality gear is slim pickings. If you do find something useful there may only be 1 on the shelf. Always new highers who don’t know the actually policies on returns, ordering, or price matching. Very frustrating. Very over priced and when you ask to price match competitive stores so you can use your points it takes an act of congress and 3 associates later for approval even tho it says directly on there approved price match retailers list. Bad that customers know an associates job better than they do. No longer can you find pros in the departments who actually use the gear or actually outdoorsmen. Targeted audience seems to be what style is trending
Firearms department are inept.
I called to make sure a rifle was in stock as it was listed as limited inventory. Was assured it was so got my PAL and immediately called back. This time a got a customer service representative that did not have a good grasp of English. What should have been a 5 minute conversation took 15. I was assured there was still inventory of that specific rifle. Called back after an hour as I was worried that my information was incorrect. This customer service representative found that my email was incorrect and that there was not any inventory left.
How are they still going?
Wanted to order something (I'm in the UK) but my son is living in the US. Added to basket and tried to order. However as my billing address is the UK, it wouldn't let me order it. It had every other country in the World, even countries I'd never even heard of, but not the UK. Live chat was no help, just said no.

They were advertising promotional discounts for a vortex lvpo if you got their card. This was all online. I got their card and finished checking out the lvpo. I got my thanks for your purchase email, but then the next day they canceled my order and told me to go kick rocks. Took a hit to my credit for nothing. I will never shop here again.
Awful customers service
Awful customers service. I ordered something online. When I received an email confirming my address, I noticed the address was incorrect.
I called them and the person at Bass pro told me to call Fed Ex to have it corrected.
She said there was nothing they could do.
Called Fed ex and they said they can't do it, rather Bass pro has to contact them and that they should know this, it's standard procedure.
Called Bass Pro back and they said there is nothing they can do. I just have to wait for the shipment and when I don't get it,it "should be returned" to their Fed ex location. I asked them to cancel the order because part of the order wasn't shipped yet and they said they couldn't.
Terrible, horrible service. Never again will I order or buy from them.

Never buy a boat from Bass Pro bought a brand new nitro rigged had nothing but problem with trolling motor took it back three times within the two years each time it went back. They had the damn boat for 6 to 7 weeks and the three a total of three times has been in there. They’ve had my boat about 15 to 16 weeks and still hasn’t solved the issue with just ghost trolling motor When you call they never answer the phone. They tell you they’re gonna call you back. They never call you back. I’ll never buy another boat from Bass Pro and I recommend nobody else either.

I have been to this particular Bass Pro several times. The individuals behind the gun counter are beyond rude and unhelpful. When it first happens, you think it's just a one off and you just let it go, but when it happens every single time, you go there and every time you go there it's a different employee you then realize that these people in this department could care less about doing their job or to help you in anyway and now it falls on management. I just went to this store again which is 2.5 hours away from my house on 11/2/2025. They have the attitude as if Bass Pro are the only ones in America who sells guns and you are a peasant and I'll get to you in their time or even if they do help at all. Even though you have logged in and there are 4 or 5 employees behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. They will avoid you like the plague and literally try not to make eye contact with you, so they don't have to help you. Yesterday topped the cake though! Their logging inline system was down, and I couldn't log in. Me and my girlfriend was standing at the counter and 3 of the men were talking about one of their stories and totally ignoring any and all customers. One of the men was doing everything he could to not make eye contact. There was another employee who walked out from the back and walked out past the counter onto the floor. This employee didn't care to stop and ask if we needed anything either. instead, I stopped him and told him that their logging in line system wasn't working and I needed help. This employee must have been their boss because as soon as he turned around to confront one of those men then two of the men asked if I needed something. To make a very long story short and not having to write a book. I wound up not buying anything. My whole intent for coming in there was to purchase this one particular gun. I am beyond livid how these people in this Bass Pro shop treat customers. I will never again in my lifetime go to this particular store again and might not ever go to a Bass Pro shop ever again. My voice is just one voice, but I will do everything in my power to make my voice heard and go onto every single internet review web page I can write a review and write a review. I will also tell everyone I know about my experiences with Bass Pro. The word of mouth can either be your best advertisement or your worst. Even though Bass Pro shops prices are very overpriced I still went to this store and many others. I will now save my money and shop somewhere else. Bass Pro has just gotten too big, and they don't care about the customer anymore.

I recently bought a used pistol from Bass Pro Shop in Garland. The initial employee I dealt with was awesome. A shout-out to Alex in the firearm section.
The trouble began when I attempted to purchase the pistol. I handed over my CCL, and the man took it and required me to verbally state what was on the license...twice in a row when he had my legal ID in his possession. I filled out the transfer form and left off my SS number, as it is not required. He then brought up my SS number from somewhere ( I didn't provide it) and required me to confirm it was my SS number, and he did this twice. Why was my SS number shown to me printed out, and me to confirm it when it was not a legal requirement? I feel like y'all just make up your own rules. I bought the pistol on 10/22/2025. In closing, I felt the whole transaction was unpleasant and unlike any firearm purchase I had made before. Is my experience normal, or was I given "special treatment"?

They do not reply to emails at all.
They have not once been able to resolve any online issues I’ve had.
They claim they can’t modify or cancel orders.

I will not be shopping at Bass again. I ordered something online and used Paypal to pay for it. Unfortunately it wasn't useable so I had to return it. Because I used Paypal I can only get my refund in the form of a Bass gift card which I do not want. They should put this information right on the order form. If I had known that up front I would have used a credit card instead
My new sandles were obviously used.
My sandles arrived early, but the way that they were poorly packaged and had grass and sand stuck to the bottom of the treads, it was obvious that they had been worn and returned. I am sending them back, but if I want the same sandles I have to pay shipping again! I will look elsewhere, thank you.
