We use many of your products, mostly stains and always been happy, but I'm afraid with this product its a fail.

Having chosen to pick the this product, being the more expensive than other choices, thereby having the false believe it would be better than cheaper products, it was a total fail.

Yes it soften the paint but only removed the top skin so still had to either use the heat gun or sander, just made more mess.

Barrettine Decking Oil - Clear
Good Oil, very pleased with the result. Brought out all the lovely colours in my deck. Will use again.
My deck was cleaned and repairs done, with 3 good days of weather ahead I went to buy my usual oil (osmo clear decking oil). Local suppliers didn't have in stock. Now only mixing centers stock this product.
This oil got good reviews so I took it instead. Its Great. Both coats soaked in well, its thin so easy to apply, I always use a brush for best results. Just lovely tones on the wood. When you put it on the colour will be the "wet" colour of your deck but it dries clear, I usually use 20 litres of Osmo but I used 23 litres of Barrettine, however I was generous, especially give the difference in price.
I am left wondering if we have been brainwashed into believing that ONLY products for Europe are good. Not the case here, and the price is a steal.

Used the clear wood preservative product for first time after new fence installation. First impressions are very positive. Covers well and soaks into the bare wood leaving rich clear emulsion look. Covered one side of 15m fence with 4 litres approximately of product and it soaked in a lot. Pleased with results and if I get another decent weather window will complete the other side. Did research before purchasing and it appears that all the positive comments are based on customer good experience. Time will tell if it is as weather proofing as suggested. Lots of rain will test it. I am confident it will do the job.just completed 2 coats as recommended and will assess its waterproofing when the next big shower hits👍

After 3 thick coats on very thin paint it removed the thinnest film from the top. Absolutely useless!

Armour Flex Hard Wax Hard Wax Oil
We have been refinishing wooden floors for decades so it was refreshing to learn of & try out a new product manufactured in the UK by Barrettine a long , respected firm in the production of decorative products. We would normally use water based Bona or in extreme wear cases(bar tops etc) Sadolin PX,but both of these products have become so expensive it was losing us work.So this was a very high wear area in a bathroom so it gets lots of hammer,it was in a sad condition with lots of bare areas so after thorough prep with the Festool & a final wipe down with meths ,ready to go.Firstly you must do any touching in with the appropriate colour wood dye (water based as it dries quickly). Then I applied 3 coats of Armour Flex in Satin although 2 would have been fine.It is very easy to apply & flows out beautifully , as you can see the finish is super smooth.My customer thinks its even better than the original finish.It says on the tin dry in 4 hours under normal temperatures but I would definitely leave overnite between coats & say 16 hours before walking on.Overall if time permits this is a superb product which I would highly recommend.

Got recommended this by a friend, absolutely brilliant. It’s taken off a layer of paint with no issue whatsoever. I’d 100% recommend this to anyone struggling to remove paint

This product turns your timber yellow/orange/amber hue. It gives very inconsistent finish. First coat dries matt but the second gives partial gloss - darker wood grains get high gross finish while the rest stays matt. Third coat makes it high gloss - very unattractive. Overall entire finish looks cheap, old and yellow, like one paint timber with low quality varnish that turned dark yellow over years. Definitely it's not modern look. I put a lot of money and work in my project and this product somehow ruined it.

I used the Hardwax Oil for some oak shelves as they are going to get a bit of use, the product applied very smoothly with virtually no odour unlike some of the more high street brands.

I applied two coats as a precaution but I’m sure one would have sufficed. The hard wax oil has dried to a nice clear satin finish and seems to be very durable.

Great products. Used the UV Oil on our cladding and delighted with the results. Would recommend

Used the wood reviver on our fence, brought it back to life in less than 10 minutes
Then coated it all with their protective treatment and the fences look stunning, couldn’t be happier with the results. Will definitely be using again next time.

Quality of product is excellent and the Tech support first class. I've previously learnt the hard way, always important to read the full label as one job to the next can be very different. Ive recently used the UV oil and Hard wax oil. Both easy to use with a beautiful finish

BARRETINE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, USELESS UK COMPANY THAT MAKES TERRIBLE GRADE RUBBISH, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME & EFFORT. EVEN WICKES DON'T SEEM TO STOCK THIS JUNK ANYMORE

I have asked a multiple times to stop emailing me, even found up and ask them to take me off of that email marketing list and yet I still keep getting them.

Applied preserver on a brand new summerhouse in June 2 years ago. After 8 months it started to turn black. Contacted company who were not interested in my complaint. Less than 2 years on I’m having to take it off as it cannot be painted over,with a pressure washer which is very time consuming. DO NOT BUY THIS PRESERVER !!!

Exceptional customer service even to the point of a telephone call with advice which was very helpful.

Do not request advice from their technical department, however, because they evidently guessed from a certain point into work carried out on wood which was designed as floorboards with imaginably unexpected hues and which could have been submitted into an art and crafts exhibition and sold as a professional standard bespoke flooring solution, that I could continue to apply layers of ArmourFlex Hardwax Oil ("...up to six") without sanding - it only took one more layer, in fact, to destroy it...

Indeed, on the third layer, having been made aware that I should use either rag or brush (later, in response to my complaints, during the company's denial of fault, changing their words to solely cloth usage), the surfaces bubbled (and yellowed - the whole reason I didn't go for an oil-based varnish).

Over two months of time, some expense (in terms of purchases but also from future sales as I could have put the work undertaken into a portfolio), so much effort, the work carried out with someone else and for them - the whole project a labor love and with results that presented this as true.

Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment.
This product has to be one of the best and easiest ever, application was a dream, brought some for the shed and it went on super easy, did two coats in less than half a day, yes it was nice and hot and sunny and was dry before 2nd coat, the wood soaked it up like a sponge popped another coat on next day. I got two five litre tins and only used 3/4 of a tin. The rain just beads on the wood like a freshly polished car so impressed. Can’t recommend it enough and child safe after the wood is completely dry. What more do we need. Totally sold. Not reviewed till now cause I wanted to give it a fare crack through winter and have to say still beading water on the wood. Easy 5 Star ever.

More like paint kitten. This product is simply awful and costing an average of £32 per litre it should actually work and work quickly. IT DOESN'T !! REALLY IT DOESN'T 3 coats of this stuff in and scratching scoring and hard graft and I get a micron thin coat removed. I'm old school and remember paint strippers that were like Alien blood. All in all a waste of money and back to scratch scrub and sandpaper. Working out an average to strip one window at this rate and the cost it's probably cheaper to change the darn window .. 😏

I have used Brush Restorer by Barrenttine quite a lot over the years but my recent purchase at over £6 a can seems to have undergone a product change and it doesn't work anywhere like the old product. Of course you don't find this out until you've spent the money.
