AVOID the assistance at El Prat unless you speak Spanish!!

The assistance service as this airport is appalling with the most unhelpful, rude and obstructive team you will ever meet at an airport. Yesterday I was travelling back through BCN El Prat after work and had booked assistance to help me with due to my reduced mobility. Healing from a broken foot and can only walk small distances with the aid of a stick. The young guy allocated to me refused to help me with my luggage, instead he folded his arms and watched me struggle to carry bags to a low conveyor belt. I asked others in the assistance t-shirt to help me and they stuck their heads in the air to ignore me. When I dropped the grey container with my laptop on the low conveyor belt him and security guards started shouting in Spanish at me. Then a nasty female security guard told me to walk backwards and put my stick in the conveyor belt. I tried to explain that I couldn’t walk without it but she refused to help. She quickly escalated the situation by calling the police, who also only spoke Spanish. Fortunately I was able to call a Spanish friend who could speak to the police man. The police spoke to the young guy who told him that he is not obliged to lift bags. And yet I saw many of his colleagues lifting bags of others (Spanish speakers) requiring assistance. This small team in an area designed for people with disabilities refused to help me in any way, refused even to speak in Spanish on the phone with my friend. Having had enough of this vile behaviour, I walked with great difficulty and much pain to the normal check in but my boarding pass was blocked! Thankfully I found a kind employee who immediately understood my situation and assisted me through the normal security. AVOID the assistance at this airport if you can. It was the most hostile and humiliating experience I’ve ever had at an international airport.

Rude incompetent stuff at evety place. No mobile signal. Long lines everywhere. Horrible prices.
Go somewhere else!

I would rather give it 0 star due to the meanest and pointless staff i ever seen in my entire life as a human being. They don’t Even speak English only espagnolã. The security girl yelled at us for no reason as we just ask for the direction cause the information desk was not able to informed us as it was none of her job and told us to go see someone else. + one security guy let us through the baggage claim zone when we literally just ask for the departure gate : useless staff one more time.

We waited more than one hour for our luggages

Worst airport!! Going through to gates worse experience ever, the staff are highly rude refused to give name to make a complaint, sending people everywhere confused on where people need to go, staff need more training and need to understand English, this short dont care for what i say she pissed me off, funny eyes short curly hair fire her asap, furthermore she better not enter england because then i can do what i please to the disrespectful girl

Horibble airport. Extremely slow staff, who don't understand English.

Travelled through this airport terminal 1 on Sunday 2/8/26 and had terrible service/experience from start to finish. Massive queues at Vueling check in massive queues for security. Then treated like a third class citizen going through immigration totally ignored by rude unhelpful staff, nearly missed flight due to staff incompetence. Gates don’t make sense gates 3 and 4 are a massive distance from gate 2. We were leaving via gate 4 and the escalator was out of action and had to go down multiple flights of stairs, certainly no good for anyone with walking difficulties. I would not recommend this Airport to anyone.

Selten so unfreundliches Personal und so schrecklich schmutzige Toiletten gesehen.
Crew Mitglieder haben mit uns Terminal 1 betreten und waren genauso erstaunt wie wir, als wir schon beim Eingang kontrolliert und wie Verbrecher behandelt wurden. Unfreundlich, unanständig und frech.
Beim Sicherheitscheck des Gepäcks dasselbe. Unmotiviertes Personal , welches seine Pflichten nicht erfüllte und es deshalb überhaupt nicht vorwärts ging.
Ein absolutes „no go“ !

Airport services are scandalous. To start almost every store in terminal 2 we’re closed and ones that were open had terrible service. Pre-made sandwhich cost 15 euro, in Burger King almost all kiosks were down. Vending machines were shocking, bought a Coca Cola for 4 euro and it wasn’t warm but hot, then they charged me for a pack of haribo and nothing even came out of the machine. I could only find one men’s bathroom that was actually open. This may have been the worst airport i have ever been to.

Sin aire acondicionado en el 70 % de la T1. El 17 de julio, en plenas olas de calor y temporada alta. Largas filas en los baños. Los bares para desayunos calientes como un vivero.

V mnoha částech letiště je nedýchatelno, klimatizace by mohla běžet na vyšší obrátky, jak je tomu standardem na ostatních mezinárodních letištích.

Flight delays and stuck in the international section with 2 bakeries with very limited options for wheat free.

I went to the information desk on the advice of a really helpful security staff member. The woman stood looking at me from a distance and made me wait at an empty desk for 10 minutes. When I explained the situation first in Spanish then in English the woman looked at me like I’d defected on her face, horrible resting female dog face. Not helpful at all and just palmed me off. I explained that I have kidney disease and I needed to rehydrate. 9pm at night and 36°C. No empathy, no manners, shouldn’t be working in an airport with public who need help

Extremely poor facilities. There snack cafe has limited choice and none for vegan and vegetarians.
The filled sandwiches and baguettes looked as if they have been there for days.
What a let down for Barcelona. May be the local government should penalise the Airport.

I came from Banjul, Gambia with Vueling and had transit in Barcelona to London.
I had ordered Special assistance long time before I traveled, because I have metall in my knees and its hard to walk even short distance.
I did not get any help at all.
It was terrible and I will never use Barcelona airport again

When I arrived at Gatwick. London and had a new flight, Special assistance was there to pick me up.
Try learning from them.

We travelled out of Prat July 8, 2026. We arrived at about 10 30 and left on a AA flight to Philadelphia at about 12:50. From the AA check in, where the counter person, a young woman from Pakistan whose name was Halim or comething like that, was extremely kind and helpful, to the staff of SinBarreras, (Rider , Luigi, Pedro, maybe, unfortunately I cannot remember all the names) everyone we encountered were extremely kind, helpful , professional. Though, as I mentioned before, I cannot remember their names, and for this I am sorry, I remember their extreme patience, good humor and sense of humanity. We left feeling buoyed up by the sense of camaraderie and genuine support. Sin Barreras is a professional team of people who like people, and one another. My husband forgot a bag when leaving one area for another, and upon realizing it, the mobil people carrier driver drove him back to the previous place where he had been picked up. The bag was still there, along with two computers and a ipad. We will be forever grateful to him and to all the team who were MAGNIFICENT. Thank you.

90 min waiting for luggage. Manana, manana.

We arrived b4 time, good start. Delivered to arrival hall and then put in a queue for customs. What a joke. Probably a thousand people behind us and 500 in front. Took over 3 hrs to clear, just 2 really slow officers for thousands of passengers.
When we did get through, no bags bc we were so late, about an hour queue for Veuling lost luggage and they had no idea. Fortunately we found by ourselves in the end. We JUST made our cruise, we were last on the vessel. Never never again. A total bunch of clowns!
