My garage was reluctant to work direct with Autoguard due to past experiences with Other warranty companies. So I agreed I would pay the garage and claim the money back. There was a slight delay at the beginning from obtaining the quote to authorisation, which caused me issues as I couldn’t use the car but once the work was complete I was able to claim my money back and received payment immediately.

They dont cover anything. They reject nearly everything, a nightmare to deal with

1st Time ive every claimeed under a warentee provider.
REplaced 2 out of the 4 failed injectors but apart from that there was no quible. Easy to use

First time user of Autoguard and l must say it was a pleasure to have a positive outcome with them, especially after some negative experiences with previous companies.Would certainly consider them again.

I submitted a claim on 21 August 2026, and three weeks later I am still dealing with delays, repeated requests for additional evidence and a claims process that has been incredibly frustrating from start to finish.

My vehicle has suffered several mechanical problems, including a thermostat failure and water pump issue. The garage has already confirmed that the thermostat failed suddenly and was not the result of gradual deterioration or wear. Despite this, rather than progressing the claim, I have repeatedly been sent back to the garage for further investigation.

I have now been asked to provide a photograph of the water pump impeller, which would require the vehicle to be dismantled again and create additional diagnostic and labour costs. If this evidence was genuinely required, it should have been requested at the beginning of the claim, not after three weeks of delays and inconvenience.

What is particularly frustrating is the way this claim is being treated. The constant questioning and repeated demands for further evidence have left me feeling as though both myself and the garage are being treated as though we cannot be trusted or are somehow not telling the truth about the vehicle’s faults. The garage has inspected the vehicle and provided its professional findings, yet instead of those findings being taken seriously, I feel as though we are continually being asked to prove ourselves again and again.

I have already provided substantial evidence regarding the faults. Instead of feeling like I have a warranty there to help when something goes wrong, I feel like I am having to continually prove my claim and jump through more and more hoops just to get the matter dealt with.

Meanwhile, I am left without my vehicle and having to arrange and pay for alternative transport. This has caused significant inconvenience and unnecessary mental stress, particularly as I rely on my car for everyday life and to transport my disabled father.

Three weeks may not sound like a long time until you’re the person without their vehicle, paying additional costs and constantly having to deal with another request for evidence.

A warranty is supposed to give you peace of mind. My experience has been the complete opposite. The delays, repeated evidence requests, additional costs and overall handling of this claim have left me extremely disappointed.

If you are considering buying this policy, my honest advice is: don’t bother. Save your money, save your time and save yourself the frustration and mental stress of having to fight to get a claim dealt with when you actually need the warranty.

Based on my experience so far, I would not recommend this warranty to anyone.

I think I will have to take this one up with the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Motor Ombudsman Service.

Professional start to finish

Had my car recovered after it broke down quick response car fixed paid a small amount for diagnosis work carried out,very happy no complaints

Very restricted cover. Heavy reliance on exceptions which rule out many claims including my recent claim for a cooling system problem. I would have thought that this was something that should have been covered by a warranty.

Frankly, this warranty is a waste of time and money for slightly older cars. Best avoided. The warranty came with the car I purchased and was supplied by the seller. I did not receive the written details until well after the purchase date. I had no chance to view the warranty otherwise I would have asked for an upgraded version from day 1. The Select warranty is not suitable for my car. I am now saddled with a £338 bill. I am an 80 years old pensioner in poor health (cancer) so this amount of money is a significant loss for me. My wife is disabled so we need the car. I had hoped to receive some measure of understanding from Autoguard but this turned out to be a misguided idea.

Good communication and kept me informed at all times,payment was also quick.
Only criticism I have is that at times I was getting e mails from different departments with the same message.
However all in a good experience.

Iv had the car less then 7 months turbo failed they wont warrent the repair
Pointless paying for the warrenty i dont exspect them to pay for the hole repair but they should pay some of it was the hole point of taking the cover out now im left with a massive bill on a car i brought from dealer who sold me there warrenty.

Slightly complicated process getting garage to make the invoice out to Autoguard Warranties when I was paying the bill at the garage and claiming it back. All to do with Autoguard being able to recover the VAT. To be fair the email from Autoguard did say this but it also said a lot of other things depending on circumstances. Would have liked a more bespoke email for my situation rather than a "catch all". Anyway claim settled so Thank you.
