There is only one place for perfect vintage style
Ive been shopping here for quite a few years now and absolutely love the quality and style of the clothes. I have 16 dresses, three tops and several t shirts in my collection. I even bought my wedding dress here, plus all my bridesmaids dresses. Beautiful hand made with bespoke prints that you wont find anywhere else. No other vintage brand compares.
Yes its a bit pricey but unique design, carefully made by hand in the UK
with ethically sourced materials. These dresses last for years! Vivien puts her heart and soul into these amazing designs, both both the clothes themselves AND the fabric they are made from.
They are made to original vintage patterns which use vintage sizing. Which means you need to check your measurements and compare on the size chart. I am a 12 and the VOH size 16 fits me well.
You will feel like a Hollywood goddess in these dresses and people cant stop complimenting you. You wont regret buying.

Awful quality for the price. Thankfully got a full refund
Parroting what others have said: incredibly poor quality especially for the price tag with the excuse of 'we're a small business'. I was sent a dress that was similar in quality to that of a £20 party dress from amazon. It smelt of damp. It had a rip between the halter neck piece and the dress bodice. It was also no where near a size 16. When I emailed customer service they had to contact a manager to deal with the issue. Apparently THE DRESS I GOT HAD ALREADY BEEN RETURNED BEFORE DUE TO FAULTS.
They refunded me the full amount and am in the process of getting a refund for the shipping cost. I do appreciate this which is why I am not giving a full 1 star.
I was incredibly disappointed and still am with the quality. I bought the dress for my graduation and had high hopes for the company. I now have to try and find a new dress which is exhausting.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, and I’m really sorry this was your experience. What you’ve described is not the standard we aim for, and I completely understand how disappointing this must have been, especially with such an important occasion coming up.
You’re absolutely right to expect better quality and accurate sizing, and the condition you received the dress in is not acceptable. The fact that this item had previously been returned and was sent out again is something we are taking very seriously internally, as it should never have happened.
I’m glad we were able to issue a full refund and are arranging the return postage, but I appreciate that this doesn’t make up for the inconvenience or the stress of needing to find another dress at short notice.
We are reviewing our quality control and returns process to ensure this is not repeated, as this experience is not representative of what we want any customer to receive from us.

Arrogant and poor service.
I agree with the other reviews about unacceptable stock levels and also about them using the excuse -"We are a small buisness".In summary Vivien Wilson and her team would benefit from qaulity checking items prior to sending (especially Internationally),being accountable and not responding -"I am sorry you were not happy with your order" (BTW,I dont know anyone who would be happy to receive a top with a hole in it!),just own it and say sorry.Then Vivien went on to say _"We are a small buisness"(a well used line) and- "these things happen",(actually these things are entirely avoidable had a basic check been done) and it caused much inconvenience.When Vivien says "small buisness",she means,I dont employ enough people to meet demands or efficiency,but Im a big enough buisness to sell to the world! I would respect them more if they handled this professionally,everyone makes mistakes,but dont deflect.Then they failed to communicate regarding the replacement (no news of it been sent,no tracking heads up).I had to chase at every stage.They just seem to lack very basic service skills and just come across as if they think they are above the customers.I would never buy again,Vivien Wilson aint no Bettie Paige and never will be!Buy elsewhere.

Lovely clothes, just tad on the pricier end!
Lovely clothes, gorgeously fit, do come up smaller, as vintage sizing so check measurements, I'm a size 10 for example and 14 in VOH. I love their halterneck dresses, as they have boning arround bodice which fits soo well, and the jenny cardigan in pretty much every colour, again they fit soo well, are actually warm and crop perfectly at the waist. My only faults for an honest review is they are dry clean only 😔 and quite expensive/an investment in the first instance, but you do get value for money. Overall very positive.

You’ve made a really helpful point about sizing, and we always recommend checking the measurements for each style to get the best fit, as they can differ from modern high street sizing.
We completely understand your comments on care and pricing too.
Our garments are made by hand here in local factories in London, and some styles include internal boning, which is why certain pieces are dry clean only. That said, many of our cotton garments can be washed at home on a cold, gentle cycle. We always aim to create pieces that are made to last and be worn for years.

Just brought an beautiful matchin set of the leopard Jessica Peasant top and matching shorts. They are stunning and fit beautifuly.
Gorgeous quality and give me "Hollywood Starlet" vibes! I am a size 14 so a size 18 in VOH.
I must admit the cut of everything is so flattering and beautiful fabrics. Easy to order and fast postage!

Fabulous frocks
The clothes are made in the UK to a high standard, and are based on actual vintage patterns. I used to love going to the shop, but I'm glad I can still buy these styles online now that the physical shop has gone. I get so many compliments when I wear my VoH dresses, and they never fail to make me feel fabulous.

I absolutely ADORE this brand! Vivien goes about and beyond to ensure everything is top quality and is very involved with us customers. The best clothing designs!
My first visit to the shop was over 12 years ago. Trying on the clothes, it was the first time I felt good about how I looked, in styles I love.
Since then, I have bought most of my clothes from Vivien of Holloway, and I love all of them.
The clothes are beautifully made; I really appreciate the attention to detail, such as the vintage buttons, and the pattern matching. I also love how the company puts outfit suggestions together; for example, there were items I thought were just for the warmer months, but their suggestions mean I can wear them year round.
On top of the wonderful clothes, the staff are lovely! They treat us as a loved community, and they remember who we are, and what we like.
Vivien of Holloway is my most favourite clothing brand ever! I highly recommend them.

VoH - Something for everyone
Vivien of Holloway produces gorgeous clothing. You have to be careful with sizing, for me a size 12 fits like a gloves, however with other vintage repro I'm a size 8. I feel fabulous whenever I wear my "Vivs", and I get so many compliments. Highly recommend this shop, for those that want to look glam, or those that want beachwear. Always something for everyone.
