Ridiculous charge
Impossible to contact a human
Failed to send my information to the State
Told me further information was needed but could not tell me WHAT was needed so I had to reach out to the State to find out that Vital Check did not forward the photo of my ID
they are a monopoly and they act like it

Look carefully before placing order. They have it set to DEFAULT (IN SMALL PRINT) to $19.95, instead of the $1 for mail! And you don't see it until you've already paid! I submitted a request immediately to change shipping but they refused to refund. Really sneaky sucky way to oick your pocket!

Sent me a short form when they do not state it anywhere or give you an option to chose. Who tf even orders a short form instead of a certificate they could use for everything if it would cost the same anyways. Instead of fixing it they want me to pay and order it all over again. Like if it’s even guaranteed I’ll get a long form this time. Bsbsbsbs. Support and this website just bs.

Absolutely awful experience.
Placed an order for some documents which I was assured would take less than two weeks. Filled and submitted all the info but never got a response or update from them. They never sent the certificates I ordered. I had to use other options to get the certificate fast. I was able to get birth certificate online, I placed an order on instagram with Stealthdmvs! Their performance was really great! The customer care was responsive and they processed everything fast!

It is a fact website or they just don't care take your fifty and give you the finger

If can give them a "0" review I would. I paid a lot to get my certificate, and it's been 3 months and still trying to get it. Email after email, promises after promises...The state should really look into this company and not recommend them. I will be disputing this and calling the BBB.

What went wrong? EVERTHING!! So far I've had to notarize the same sworn statement FOUR times!!! They keep kicking it back with ZERO EXPLANATION OF THE TF THEY WANT. And now I'm on hold again going on ONE HOUR to try to get an answer but now that I've read the other reviews I'm not holding my breath and the 150.00 I've already spent was a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

Got an email saying the docs I submitted were not legible, but did NOT say which doc was at fault. After 45 minute wait on the phone got a company rep who told me the address on the state ID was not readable. This is FALSE! I checked the state ID and the address was absolutely clear and easy to read. Its been two weeks now since the start. I would have been better off driving 3 hours to the county seat or wherever you get the docs instead of dealing with this company.

If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered my birth certificate on 4-2-25 and here we are it is 8-18-25 and I have nothing. After numerous emails they threw it in the hands of the agency doing the birth certificate and said they (vital records) were just the mailing company. I finally got a tracking number but ups has yet to pick it up. Probably more of their BS. Turnaround time was 30-60 days and yet here we are...... Find a different avenue than this company.

Absolutely horrible experience. I am a Canadian citizen who had the misfortune of being married in Iowa 26 years ago and tried to request a copy of my marriage certificate for divorce purposes. VitalChek takes your money BEFORE informing you that you require a State ID to complete the process. Obviously as a Canadian citizen and resident I do not possess such an ID. They continue to send me harassing emails on a regular basis. Avoid this company at all costs. I wish I had read the reviews here before giving this company any of my information.

This is the most incompetent company l have ever dealt with. We needed a death certificate and we went online completed the requirments and these idiots got it so messed up. They kept wanting more information. After submitting the documents they marked the deceased as requesting his own death certificate. No amount of calling or waiting on hold or emailing did a bit of good. These fools just wouldn't fix their mistakes no matter what documents we provided. Why any state would allow these fools to provide such critical documents is crazy. They are truly TOTALLY incompetent. They need to be shut down and all state contracts pulled from them. We never could get the death certificate and they took our money and never provided anything. And the problem is most states use these scammers and there are no other options. Don't ever use them if you have other options.

This Company sucks. Never go there. I wanted to expedite a passport application for one of my employees who did not have a passport and needed to get a copy of her birth certificate from New Jersey. We were promised a 4/5 day turnaround and paid extra for special delivery to meet our travel deadline. We heard nothing, chased them up after a week had gone by and then after holding 2 HOURS on the phone we were told that there was a 30/60 day backlog! Thanks to these idiots my Manager cannot accompany me on my business trip and I have lost $1800 in air fares and hotels. I should probably sue them for misrepresentation.

Further documents are required. They do not answer basic questions, but instead simply send us the info pdf again, which does not provide the required information. Repeated requests are now ignored. We are shocked by the poor customer service and will now turn to another agency

Got the short form birth certificate instead of the longform which I requested. Should have kept my funds.

Not even one star this company deserves none !!!! I’ve been waiting on the phone 1:23 minutes all ready, is this company for real?

Tried to order a death certificate but when the sent me an email receipt it had the dead persons names messed up. It said call customer service but was on hold for over 35 minutes listening to a recording telling me “your call is very important to us” bla bla bla HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, infuriating company to do business with!

Tried to order birth certificate which said it would be $35.50 with free shipping from USPS BUT near the end of application I was forced to pick between 3 options of expedited and more secure shipping with at least $17.50 more in charges. No thank you, rap!sts.

This wasn't what seemed advertised. No ordering of certificates took place, only placing my typed information on a readily available PDF form. Why would I pay to have a company do that, I still need to do all the steps to actually order the certificate. Unfortunately, I don't see any "verifying" either, implied by the advertising. This was a waste of money in every respect. I will discourage others from using this service by posting this information as a review of the misrepresented service (or lack thereof).

Garbage keep getting my docs declined, they keep saying some part is not clear, What a waste of time. Every review is the same.
