The Ship was very nice and the Staff…
The Ship was very nice and the Staff was great. Food wasn't good for me lost five pounds. Music on the ship not good either. Bimini Beach Club was great food was delicious.
Don’t cancel. Basic math is not their strong suit
My father suddenly passed away a few days before my cruise. My wife cancelled the trip on my behalf as well as my brothers booking. We booked the same type room. Received the same cancellation emails stating 1166 would go back on our cards yet I only received 761 back on my card. No one can explain to me why after having countless emails showing port taxes and fees being broken down. I need a breakdown of the fees so my card insurance will cover the difference but this seems to be a difficult task for their support team.
Rockstar, more like a roadie….
Rockstar, yeah! Pay twice the amount for the same thing as others, excluding a couple of niceties. Mediocre food, no pool entertainment, and you already paid for the cruise but seem to keep paying more and more on ship. Going back to resorts to pay for what you get, as opposed to what am I going to get or not, you do not know…. Virgin over hyped….
Virgin Voyages is a game changer
Virgin Voyages for 21+ is a real vacation for a mature crowd who wants to relax & have fun. The food, atmosphere & staff give you the vibes you’re craving on vacation. My only wish is that the match to VIP levels from other cruise lines were a better process. It sucks that you have to wait for them to accept applications.
Modern ship, excellent staff.
The ship is modern and fairly efficient. The cabin was roomy enough. Cabin had a small tablet which controlled lights, curtains, television. You must latch the outside door to the balcony, not just close it, or your AC shuts off entirely. Had to call staff to fix the problem. Evening meals were good, you must make reservations at any of 5 or 6 themed restaurants to ensure you eat a good meal. Otherwise you do not have the best choices. Breakfast was just ok. Good bacon! Eggs and omelets were sometimes not warm in The Galley, which is the main come and go eatery. Lots of food choices for any palate there. The staff get A plus. Always positive, cheerful and kind. Very responsive to any request or problem. Any live entertainment was sparse, availability could have been better communicated. This cruise kept you on the ship two nights before the first excursion at Key West, other cruises do this in one night. The other excursion was at the Virgin Voyages beach club. Nice beach, but it was too crowded. Same for the pools. Not enough chairs if you don’t get there early. We sat on towels. Music extremely loud. I wish this was a more relaxed experience. Transportation to beach and back was efficient. In general this cruise was a good experience. But, I am still not make me a fan of cruises.
Everything do not trust waiters Virgin going great until I ordered…
Everything going great until I ordered a US$13 spirit from a waiter at a Bar on Resilient Lady Virgin Voyages. It was only a half shot at best. When confronted he immediately apologised and returned with the correct drink. Do not order spirits on this cruise liner only beers - an absolute disgrace considering price of drinks!!
I am Disappointing Birthday Voyage: Broken AC, Cold Food, and Dishonest Staff to formally express my…
I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with my recent birthday voyage. Having sailed with Virgin before, I expected a high level of service that was completely absent on this trip.
Our cabin was uncomfortably hot for the duration of the cruise, causing my husband and me to wake up sweating every night. I reported this to Sailor Services on the first day and followed up consistently on the second, third, and fourth days. Despite my repeated requests, a room change was only offered the night before we departed, which was entirely impractical.
When I brought these failures to the attention of the Chief Executive, Raul Hernandez, he was no help at all. Instead of addressing the service failure, the leadership team claimed there was no record of my complaints until the final day and falsely stated that I "declined" a room change. Offering a room change hours before departure is not a solution, and characterizing my response as a refusal is a blatant manipulation of the facts.
To add to the frustration, the dining quality has significantly declined since my first sailing. Meals at Pink Agave and The Wake arrived cold or improperly cooked, including a fatty, rare steak when medium-rare was requested.
The customer service I received was dishonest and dismissive. An offer of credit for a future voyage is unacceptable, as I have no intention of sailing with Virgin again.
An Awesome Overall Experience.
A beautiful and modern ship, no kids with great places to hang out, and awesome places to eat and drink, what more can you ask for? The level of customer service was exceptional!
Was not happy with activities on board…
Was not happy with activities on board while on this trip. felt like we were on lockdown and not allowed to go outside, didn't see much of the happening crew to make things lively. we understand the safety that they were concern with but should have planned more fun things to do, we made the best of it as much as we can.
HORRIBLE experience
3 days before, my cruise to Bermuda was changed the St. John, New Brunswick. Not only was the tone of the email unprofessional, it also seemed to take the whole situation as a joke. I’m even more insulted by the social media page joking about it after the fact. The service on board was horrible. At one point Sailor Services told us if we walked into Test Kitchen earlier in the day we could get a table without giving up our reservation later at Pink Guava. After making us wait at the Test Kitchen, they told us they couldn’t do that and would have to cancel our later reservation this is not the first time we were told two different things by staff. We were promised extras in a letter left in our cabins, but nothing actually happened. St. John was cold and insufficient. While I understand that weather is not something Virgin can control, how they handled the change from beginning to end has been insulting. Only $100 in sailor loot? No refunds available so we had to go. The boat inside was freezing at times and clearly wasn’t made for cold temperatures. So much so that the decks were closed part of the time due to ice and there were no inside pools or hot tubs so we could still enjoy the amenities that we PAID for. Overall, the way it was handled was most disappointing and left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t plan on going on Virgin again.
First crew experience 👌👌
It was my first time going on a cruise and it was amazing ! The sun club cafe chicken bowl & bbq short rib buns were amazing
the pizza
the chocolate taco from Pink agave are things you should try for food
I haven't been on my cruise yet
I haven't been on my cruise yet. Just need to say the customer services is terrible. I have been trying for over a month now to check in but unable due to the system.many emails and phone calls and still not resolved. I go in 6 weeks and have now asked for some help for what I need to do. It's now been 2 weeks since that email and have heard nothing. Am a bit worried as I'm not checked in. Once they have your money they really don't care. It's my first cruise and will certainly be my last. Hope the cruise isn't a disappointment like customer services.
This was my first Cruise Holiday
This was my first Cruise Holiday. My first impression was th size of the vessel. Absolutely huge. From the very first time we dropped our luggage the service was very efficient, well organised and typically loud and fast. A bit overwhelming. So many people kind of knew where to go and what to see from the beginning that at first we felt a bit left out. Perhaps a little more help to first timers in terms of guidance on what to do on day one. After dinner we felt more at ease and started to learn about what to do and what was available. In that regards Virgin Vogages offers so many activities and has so many places where to be that we left not doing everything and missing out on seen some places. The people who work there show such a pleasure at what they do and so much joy in their job that they made us feel welcome and happy.Nothing was a problem for them and everything worked so well. Anything you request or simply ask for they would do their best to help you. The events they organise are the best, in my opinion the Latin music group were so very professional, the best. The food was top class, everything they offered was done to a high standard from snacks, to breakfasts, lunches they were delicious. Dinners were a real event in our stay, the food done at the very high standards all the restaurants offer different cuisines and the service was excellent.
In summary we were very happy with Virgin Vogages. My only comment would be that they should have some areas where there is no music playing. if you want to find a place to read, be quite and enjoy the view and the sounds of the see, there’s no where, unless you go to your room.
Honest review from my prospective
I will start by saying that EVERYONE has their own opinion of things. This review is based on my experience and perception.
The food is not very good at all. Worst I’ve had on any cruise line
There are virtually no activities.
There are very few shows and only one performance that is during dinner time.
The staff is pleasant but not overly friendly. The staff in the specialty dining rooms either don’t understand, not sufficiently trained or just don’t care.
The lure of the cruise line for me was adults only however, based on my experience and comparisons to other cruises that I have been on, I would give this cruise line 1 out of 5 stars and would not book with them again nor would I ever give a favorable recommendation.
Panama Canal Adventure!
This cruise from Miami to LA through the Panama Canal will be a lifelong memory! While I loved the accommodations on Virgin Voyage's Brilliant Lady - it will be the friendliness of the staff and the overall inclusive vibe that will bring me back for future cruises. This was the longest cruise i have taken, so i was a little worried about whether I would get homesick. But I find the ship to be a home away from home. And even as a solo cruiser I made so many new friends. And staff from my previous Virgin cruises even recognized me and were more than welcoming. As this was a "first" time through the canal cruise for Virgin, there was an educational narrator sharing details as we made our way through. I could not have been more pleased with the experience! Where to next is my biggest challenge - how do I top this?

Food was great..Live music -entetainment could be better.
No kids aboard is such a reward!
No kids aboard is such a reward. As a Mom of 4 and a Grandmother, sometimes you just want the adult crowd. Like in the casino, you don't hear children's voices, sometimes that is what I am looking for. Virgin Voyages offers that. Children free cruising. I love it! The food is great, and the staff is wonderful. Everybody is happy!
VV Scarlet Lady Miami 4 nights
We did a four night cruise with VV on Scarlet Lady from Miami to Key West and Bimini Beach.
The App you have to use is quite buggy (I have latest Android phone and not sure the App had been thoroughly tested on it) and it's very hard to get hold of any one in customer services. I requested a call back and no one ever called me back.
Our initial assigned cabin appeared to be right above one of the main night clubs and so we bid $40 for an upgrade which we managed to get a few days before departure.
Once on board the ship is very well equipped and there is a lot to do. It's definitely a party boat with lots of groups celebrating various events. We were in a group of about 40. The only issue from that point of view is that it was very hard to do any sort of large group bookings for dinners.
The staff members were all excellent and our cabin was well designed. There are several different restaurants which you can book, need to do that well in advance. There is also a large "galley" serving all sorts of food all day long.
Good to see VV using proper cutlery, decent reusable glasses and generally trying not to be wasteful.
Disembarking the ship on final day was ok to the point of needing transport to get out of the Port area. The HopOnHopOff bus got cancelled that morning! The queues for taxis/Ubers was enormous. There were several other cruise ships in at the same time and all the construction work going on caused utter chaos. We ended up walking back over the bridge into Miami as that was quicker than waiting for transport. This is not specifically VV issue, but it's something you need to be aware of on last day.
Poor management
The company’s management appears to show a lack of genuine concern for crewmembers’ well-being, which often leads to increased stress and anxiety in the workplace. Employee concerns are not handled with the level of care and fairness one would expect, as proper hearings are rarely conducted and individuals are not given adequate opportunities to explain their side. Disciplinary actions, including warnings, seem to be issued arbitrarily and without thorough or transparent investigation. There are also instances where feedback or complaints from colleagues are placed directly into performance appraisals without proper validation or investigation, which raises concerns about fairness and accuracy. This creates an environment where unverified claims can impact an employee’s record. Additionally, management appears to enable workplace dynamics driven by jealousy or bias, with indications that factors such as race and gender may influence how individuals are treated. This lack of balance and objectivity further contributes to a workplace culture that feels inequitable. When considering similar feedback shared across other review platforms, it becomes clear that these concerns are not isolated but part of a broader pattern. Overall, this results in a work environment that does not feel supportive, transparent, or fair, making it a challenging place to work.
Never again
This was our first ever cruise. Never again, at least with this company.
Positives -Excellent food, staff friendly and helpful, extremely clean and stylish ship. Staff were constantly cleaning. Mind Mangler was the best show we saw. Extremely talented entertainment crew.
Negatives - whilst travelling with a disabled person, it was impossible to get organised on a morning to be up early enough to claim a spot around the small pool or hot tubs or at the rear of the ship where there were lots of sun beds. Scarlet night around the pool was a waste of time. Again, unless you were in a prime position at least 2 hours beforehand, forget it. We couldn’t see a thing once the short entertainment piece started.
Standing is important to see some of these shows, which definitely isn’t ideal. Lola’s Library was sleazy, with people, sorry, sailors!!! ( I hated being called that, I was a guest) allowed to video the performance. One man sat right at the front only videoing the girls when they were dressed seductively. I feel these performers’ integrity was put at risk.
Disembarking to leave the ship at port was confusing. No announcements given when able to disembark.
Large screens stated disembarkation details and time before disembarkation was open. It was never open at the time stated, we understand why, this should have only been displayed once it was open. People were descending in lifts only to be sent back up again, causing overcrowding in elevator areas. When there was an option of two disembarkation points, people with limited mobility were not informed of which one to use therefore went to the wrong one only to be sent back up in the lift and then go to another part of the ship to go down in another lift, which hadn’t been unlocked, causing confusion.
Poor choice of ports. We felt we never saw the real Caribbean . One destination being a tourist trap and too commercialised.
One of us were celebrating a special birthday. We were told there would be surprise and delight. A piece of cake presented after the dessert was presented in the restaurant a photocopy piece of card pushed under the door is not surprise and delight. It was a let down. If we’d stayed in the rockstar cabins I was told a bottle of bubbles would have been given. Not impressed
