Visiting vet at Farm & Fleet West Bend…
Visiting vet at Farm & Fleet West Bend WI....setup in an aisle with shoppers walking through. Buying meds was a joke. Placed an order online at 120% of market cost and then waited for 6 days for vet approval before cancelling. Vet was OK. Getting prescriptions absurd. As you might expect from a cut rate operation, nothing really works well.
I went to VIP Pet Care in San Leandro
I went to VIP Pet Care in San Leandro, California Mikes feed and Pet on 4/27 at about 2:00 pm on for two vaccines for two of my kittens. Number one, they don’t want you to park in Mikes Feed and Pet parking lot; they want you to park at city hall, which is a huge inconvenience. We were greeted by a young female vet tech who took down our information; she was nice. We approached the female vet and other male vet tech who would be vaccinating our cats. They just stared at us. No hello, no explanation about what they would be doing to our cats. They just said; “we’re gonna take them to a separate room,” and proceeded to take our cats to some back room. I found it odd that we couldn’t be there while they were getting vaccinated. We’ve vaccinated other cats and have always been able to be in the room with them since they’re already under a lot of stress of being in a new environment. After waiting about 5 - 10 minutes, the male vet tech comes out looking annoyed and simply says “we can’t see your cats ok” … after a long pause I say “why?” “They’re moving around too much and trying to scratch us.” Like if we purposely took two wild cats for them to intentionally hurt the staff. Obviously the cats are gonna be hard to handle if they’re already anxious. Why couldn’t we be in the room with them? We didn’t even see what kind of treatment they received from the vet and vet tech that took them to the back room. Our cats have never been aggressive. When we got home and let them out of their cage, they ran out and hid under the house. My main complaints are we couldn’t be in the room to see what they were doing to them and the lack of customer service from both the vet and vet tech. When the vet tech told us they couldn’t see them, he offered no alternative or solution. Just simply, “we can’t see them.” This was a huge waste of time for nothing.
Terrible customer service
Very bad experience with VIP Petcare at the Williamston, MI Tractor Supply Company. I have used this mobile vet clinic in the past and I was always satisfied. But my most recent visit was horrible! One of the Petcare employees was terribly rude and disrespectful. I won't get into all the details, but it was the worst I have EVER been treated as a customer! (I am over 50, BTW) I also heard her arguing with another customer and things got pretty heated. Terrible customer service skills and should not be doing that job. I will not be returning to this vet clinic.
Scam artist company !
I went to vip in tractor supply bc I was new to the area and needed heart worm and flea script for my service dog and some time to find our new vet . Now , they are denying my 12 month prescription because the dog will be due for another test bf the prescription runs out ?!?!!? What a scam !!!!
I went to VIP Pet in Athens at Tractor…
I went to VIP Pet in Athens at Tractor Supply on March 1st. In the seven years that I have had Dolly I have never seen her hurt so bad by a rabies shot or the nail clipping afterward. The vet said there was no roadmap to keep from hitting a nerve. Now I must contend with how Dolly will be able to handle shots and clippings in the future. It will not be at VIP Pet Tractor Supply.
Reading these reviews made me sad
Reading these reviews made me sad. I worked for them for a year and all this is true. Every complaint is something I tried to address. Training is inadequate, especially on restraint practices, especially with cats. "Policy" is not aligned with standard veterinary best practices. Techs are not real techs and only spout what the company tells them which is often inaccurate, but they don't know what they don't know. Record keeping is shoddy and haphazard. As lot of people said, inadequacy is rewarded and the process is poor communication from beginning to end. Coworkers gossip about each other in front of clients. The vets are good and try to be helpful but the untrained helpers will undermine the vets. The prices really are reasonable but a lot of the people signing you in will not give you the full picture, for example that you'll need boosters for some shots and what those prices are, up front. The outfit is as much of a nightmare to work for as it is to visit. I worked in GP and ER vet practices for many years and was excited to work with them, but, as others have said, I should have read these reviews first. A few days before I quit, my manager said, I didn't realize you were a licensed tech. Well every vet I worked with there did. This is their corporate culture. Until things change top down it won't get better.
Improper restraint pattern has resulted in death
1 pm 2/22/25 Springfield twp ohio.
pet supplies plus.
the two employees administering the vaccination are a LIABILITY BECAUSE THEY FAILED. Are they actually trained or wearing scrubs as a costume? I will tell you I called their help line and they admitted one is a vet and the others are not vet technicians state licensed just supposedly trained.
The inability to properly restrain a small feline injured me and the employee, and put my cat in severe danger by being lost or harmed by dogs or let out the door and hit by a car or breaking his neck! He hanged as he fell off the table before he broke out of the slip knot.
If these are trained vet techs they could handle a 1 yo cat. This is poor training or sloppy behavior. I didn't sign up to chase my cat after it HUNG ITSELF!!
I took a small 1 yo feline for a booster shot. They put a harness slip knot around his neck. Upon attempting to inject the small cat flinched which a COMPETENT tech would handle but instead they let loose dropping the needle and the cat hung himself before running and hiding in the store. I was able to retrieve five isles over under the large rack shelving. The one employee just walked around saying can you open a can of catfood?" while I'm running thru the store yelling shut the doors and almost grasping the kitty as he runs past semi restrained obviously poorly trained dogs barking etc.
They proceeded to use the syringe from the floor where animals poop.
This is your business and you failed. If he had got out the door there would be an unsolvable problem instead of settlement.
I have a deep cut in my hand and my new pants bloodstained. More importantly you failed basic restraint injuring one employee amd customer. Also my mental injury to be put into fight or flight is not for preventable nonsense. Same for my cat.
Look up this biz 2022 settlement negligence
Getting a rabies vaccine
It was pleasant. It was fast. Priced just right.
Horrible experience with customer…
Horrible experience with customer service trying to get them to update my dogs records. They kept telling me he needed a booster which he didn’t. So in order to get updated records I have to get him vaccines he doesn’t need. So any money I saved I’ll be paying in boosters that aren’t needed on to of the aggravation of having to email the customer service multiple times. They have no idea what they are doing. Save yourself the agony.
Unprofessional at Chow Hound in Grand Haven, MI
Used this service at Chow Hound in Grand Haven, MI. The staff were unprofessional. The lady who checked us in kept staring at our dogs. She made comments about them. The man put a strong hold around our dog's head and neck (while straddling her), as if she was aggressive. He pulled her forehead back to make her eyes bulge. She was terrified and pulled away in fear. I tried to intervene. They denied me touching my dog and said it was a liability issue. They had the nerve to tell my son to have us medicate the dogs in the future. The vet negatively spoke to me about my dog. Never had issues with our dogs in the past while getting vaccinations. They know NOTHING about dog behavior. There were hidden fees and the Rabies was 1 yr. and not 3 yr. They were standing near me as I was paying the bill. I had to listen as they were all gossiping about co-workers by name. One filed a compliant against them. The vet participated in the unprofessional behavior. Under no circumstances would I ever use this service again.
Haphazard and Chaotic
Honestly, I won’t ever use this service again. The actual veterinarian seemed quite good but the staff she had assisting her made me feel highly insecure about them.
I have been bringing my dog to them for…
I have been bringing my dog to them for years. September 15 2024. I was talked into this brand of flee and tick with heart guard which is next guard plus for dogs 66lbs to 132. Which was 462.00 since you buy in 6month increments and save -45.00 so I saved 90.00 still spent 372.00 so I called them when I was having issues with my dog on the 16 of October never opened still sealed and he told me to call back if something happened and October 20 I had to put my dog down. Now after this experience I will never come back to vip pet care and recommend that other people do the same
We went to one of the clinics
We went to one of the clinics. It was a total of 3 cats in line. Back to back to back. We were the second feline. Our kitten is 12 weeks and rather chill. Mini trex ever so often but for the most part a topical cat. Anyway the cat ahead of us was a year old female. And she bit the assistant and broke her skin. After that it was a very chaotic scene. A binder was pulled out. Animal control and the cops were called. The vet went on to tell the owner how her cat was a menace and went from 0-60 and was DANGEROUS! After about 20-30 min it was out turn and our little trex was actually just chill. But as soon as the assistant went to scruff the him he hissed and that caused the assistant to literally pin him to the table. The vet then JABBED him in the hind leg. He meowed and then they stopped released him sat him on the table and he just looked around like what just happened but not aggressive and then the vet told us she couldn’t do the rest of the vaccines and stuff because he went from 0-60. She then has all the other stuff removed from his visit, she is visibly shaking as her hand was shaking uncontrollably as she explained 0-60 over and over. Then sends me to the cashier. The cashier charged me full price even though we did not get the full service. As she put it, it was a package price. Told us to practice carrying him and then blamed the stress on the environment, the wait and other animal’s waiting. So then the third feline owner proceeds. All the vet asked was if the cat would go from 0-60 and the owner said the cat was great at the vets office but then the cat hissed and that was that. She the vet told him not today and sent him away after waiting for 2 hours.
Bait & Switch Unethical Marketing
We took our dog to PetVet last month at Tractor Supply and bought the Choice package, which included the LEPTO vaccine. We were told we simply needed to bring his stool sample back when he gets the LEPTO booster 4 weeks later. Today, we show up and the booster (a booster!) was $50. Ridiculous. We should have been told, this was a bait and switch. How unethical? These corporations need to get their people under control and realize that people are humans and our budgets are real. We will not visit or trust Pet Vet brand again.
Horrible we traveled 30 minutes to show…
Horrible we traveled 30 minutes to show up at Tractor supply to be to be told they won't be doing shots. They had everyone leave because they said it was to hot in the store. It's Florida. Unreal. Horrible company.
STAY AWAY unless you want your dog…
STAY AWAY unless you want your dog psychologically damaged. They grabbed my 3 friendly standard poodles in a strong hold to give them their vaccinations. My dogs were treated like a very aggressive dog would have been handled. My 12 year old standard poodle was so scarred, she couldn't quit shaking. I thought she was going to have a stroke right there. Now, my 2 year old standard poodle, who I am training to be a therapy dog, is very scarred while I walk her in stores. She never showed any fear of anything before this experience. This bad experience was four months ago, and she still is reacting. This damage is not easy to repair. Spend a little more for a vet who knows your dog and treats them right.
The Last Time Was The Last Time
I won't take my dog to them anymore. Every single visit they charge me for things I say I don't want. Most recently, my dog was a month overdue for his 3-year rabies shot. I got my dates mixed up. So the vet said she would have to do a 1-year rather than another 3-year shot. I agreed to that. But I told them he was not overdue for any of his other yearly vaccines as I had gotten them done elsewhere the previous year. After I paid my bill they informed me that they charged me for a temporary license. I was not asked about that until it was done. And I was told to come back in another month for follow up shots. I assumed this was a follow up for the shot. No, they gave him all the other shots that I said he was not overdue for just because they didn't have records it. They didn't believe me that he got his annuals the year before and gave him all new ones as if he was a puppy, which required boosters at the second visit. I paid well over $100 for a second round of shots that my dog didn't need. I could have taken him to the most expensive vet in town and still paid much less. And my dog would have gotten a checkup along with his shots. That is what I'll be doing from now on. I won't deal with this company ever again.
Be careful they will drop your animal
Took my puppy to get her vaccines. She had just recently been fixed as we had just adopted her. The tech who was checking us in picked her up to weigh her and the proceeded to drop her. He grabbed her by the pelvis to save her from hitting the floor as I pulled up on her leash. Her incision immediately started to swell and leak bloody fluid. The vet on duty looked at her and recommended she go immediately to emergency vet. We took her to the emergency vet and she was examined and had an ultrasound. She was fine except she had a seroma (a pocket of fluid from the trauma). Wrote to VIP to ask for reimbursement of the emergency vet bill as she did not have this before. They declined reimbursement as the guy checking us in said in the notes that he did that she already had it, which she did not I have pictures. I have been taking my dogs to this company for the past 18 years and never once had they ever picked up my puppy to weigh them. I am so disappointed with the service that we have received and want others to be aware of what can happen. Thank goodness that her stitches did not open up as then she would have need surgery again.
I recommend Vippetcare
I am using vip petcare in Austin tx to keep my dogs on track with vaccines and heart worm and flea and tick medication. I used vip petcare two times this year with 4 of my dogs and i will continue to do so cause everyone was friendly ,professional give me good advices how to socialize one of my puppies more and what food and vitamins I should get for he’s skin issues. Prices for are reasonable and i got all my dogs paperwork on my email.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE
My mistake was ignoring my seasoned veterinary industry friends and failing to check online reviews before entrusting a team of well intentioned but entirely inept alleged vet "professionals" with my dogs. We used the clinic at the Palmyra, VA Tractor Supply. The vet, Dr. Brown, was lovely and had nice bedside manner and was good with the dogs, but ill-informed, uneducated and lacking in critical skills like how to do an effective blood draw. Watching her dig the needle around in two of my three dogs' legs to get blood was appalling. She also appears to have mid-administered the vaccine, doing it intramuscular rather than subcutaneous - resulting in excruciating pain in two of my three dogs and requiring an urgent visit to my general practice vet.
Also turns out that every medication they recommended was the wrong kind for my dogs and all run the risk of creating catastrophic health issues for my dogs. When I called them to discuss and to STOP the order they were shipping and get a refund of the $550 worth of medications. They informed me that they already had filled the order, shipment was on the way and therefore there were no refunds. The one medication they *did* have and gave me ... they gave me the wrong dosage. My dogs collectively weigh about 45 pounds. The medication they gave me for ONE of my dogs was dosed for dogs weighing 51-100 pounds. The one good thing they're doing there is sending me the replacement and not charging me double.
I called the customer service hotline to discuss and given what I am seeing in the reviews here it's no wonder that each call required my being on hold for 30 minutes before I spoke with someone.
They talked a good game and claimed they would get it resolved ... but that clearly was just a delaying ploy since by the time I got to the third person the order "had just been filled and shipped".
I came to this service as I'm out of work presently and hoped that I'd be able to save some money on medication. I spent nearly double what I'd spend at the vet, and now will be spending more as I have to purchase the medications that I can actually use.
I'll be speaking directly with Tractor Supply as well because this reflects very poorly on their brand.
UPDATE - I managed to get my situation resolved - not changing star rating based on the fact that it took somewhere between 9-10 hours of my time - on the phone, on hold, talking with a customer rep, getting escalated to someone else ... back and forth. It took nearly a full week to *finally* get a supervisor on the phone who addressed my issues.
The good things - every customer service rep was personable, professional and polite. The interactions were positive and ultimately it was a good result.
Thing is, there is zero reason that I should have had to take this much time to get resolution ... zero. Had the on-site service actually been good, it would have not been an issue. That it took me such an effort to get resolution speaks to broken internal communication and processes that desperately need fixing.
Where these folks win is that the team is filled with great, well-intentioned people who really do want to help the customers.
My guess is the issue comes from up top - management and ownership looking to make money ... not good.
