We just spent 18,000 on our pet for surgery. One day is fine and three days later he died. I don’t believe a word they told me. I believe they made up diagnosis. I truly dislike everything about thi... Vis mer

Called them for a Cat Emergency which…
Called them for a Cat Emergency which involved a pot of boiling water cat need help and they refused to see the cat without funds they would not allow a surrender of injured cat. And ALL VETS are nothing but hungry money grabbers. Is their job not to be there for a PET in NEED? Nope again all about the finances they really DO NOT GIVE 2 SHITS ABOUT YOUR PET. Again its what on your credit card or what's in your wallet.. Vets need to start seeing and putting aside funds in a direr EMERGENCY OF AN ANIMAL WHEN THEY ARE IN NEED..
Excellent Care
While these guys are more expensive, I think the excellent care they provide is worth it. Also they are nationwide so you can take your pet to any of them. The Care Club is a great deal that covers unlimited visits for pets which is good for dogs that tend to get sick a lot. Each facility is independently owned and operated which makes each one unique. I would recommend these guys to anyone.
The others were fine EXCEPT
The others were fine. I felt that I had an honest review & asked for a day to think about it. I was with my spouse and a friend & the vet tech need to be fired. She had “bozo the clown” blue frizzy hair on one side and told me it’s double the price for an x-ray so it jumped from 380 to early 800. On my out, she made a statement reflecting a personal vendetta.WTF?
VCA North College Hill Cincinnati-Concerns Regarding Misrepresentation and Professional Conduct
This review concerns a recent interaction with VCA College Hill Animal Hospital (Cincinnati, OH) that raises significant issues involving misrepresentation of policy, inaccurate statements regarding legal requirements, and unprofessional conduct by staff.
I contacted the clinic on 13 November 2025 to request clarification about an additional $90 exam fee for a routine vaccine, despite my dog having had a full exam less than six months priory. During this call, both the receptionist and the supervisor stated and with confidence—that this fee was mandated by “U.S. law” and “state law.”
Prior to making the call, I had already reviewed the applicable Ohio regulations, including Ohio Administrative Code 4741-1-03, and was aware that no such federal or state law exists requiring a paid exam before each routine vaccination.
The statements provided by VCA staff were therefore factually incorrect and presented clinic policy as binding law, which is extremely concerning.
I have no objection to paying for necessary veterinary services. My only intention was to clarify whether this fee was an internal hospital policy and to inquire about any alternative options.
When I attempted to obtain clarification, the situation escalated inappropriately. The receptionist responded in a dismissive tone , yelled something, after my question why she is taking such way , she transferred me to a supervisor (as the receptionist stated). The individual I spoke with afterward did not consider it necessary to provide her name or identify her position, which is highly unprofessional for someone acting in a supervisory role. The supervisor proceeded to interrupt me repeatedly, raised her voice, dismissed my questions as “arguing,” and refused to allow me to complete even a single sentence. When I attempted to inquire about possible alternatives or options, It was categorical “no “ and the call concluded with her abruptly ending the conversation.
This interaction demonstrates multiple areas of concern:
1. Misrepresentation of legal requirements
Clinic policy was inaccurately presented as “U.S. law” and “state law,” despite no such requirement existing in federal or Ohio statutes.
2. Failure to provide accurate or consistent information
Staff offered contradictory explanations and did not attempt to clarify or correct misinformation.
3. Lack of professional conduct
The dismissive tone, interruptions, raised voices, and abrupt termination of the call fall below the expected standard for veterinary care providers.
4. Inadequate supervisory response
Instead of de-escalating the situation or addressing the receptionist’s behavior, the supervisor contributed to the escalation.
I have submitted a formal complaint to VCA Corporate and am preparing a detailed report for the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board, the behavior I experienced is serious and needs to be reviewed by an official authority
Clients have the right to receive accurate information, transparent policies, and professional communication instead of abusive . Unfortunately, my experience with VCA College Hill failed to meet these basic expectations.
My best friend has passed
I need help the 2025 November 4 at 2:45 PM. My best friend has passed away. I believe that they could’ve helped me if they helped me but unfortunately they refused. I thought they would’ve been better than my vet, but I was wrong because of them because of my vet and because of why they only want money before they even help you my best friend has passed away And I’m very sad
Zero accountability
I am writing this review regarding my experience at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, FL. I brought my 6-year-old cat for a referral due to suspected kidney issues and spent over $3,000 without receiving a clear diagnosis or treatment plan. During her last visit, my cat sustained a claw avulsion (a ripped-out claw) while under their care. The doctor never mentioned it. I discovered her paw was bleeding only while paying at the front desk. When I asked what happened, staff said she had scratched a doctor and “run around the room,” causing the injury.
When I was called back, I found my cat tightly restrained in a blanket, screaming in distress, just to get her paw cleaned. The doctor admitted she had not used enough sedation due to concern about her heart. If sedation was unsafe, they should have recommended a CT scan under anesthesia from the start rather than causing unnecessary trauma by doing a procedure that was pysically hurting my pet.
After I raised concerns, they offered a complimentary CT scan (Still paying 600 USD more). However, after I posted an honest Google review, they withdrew the offer and said they would only proceed if I deleted my review, agreed not to post another, and signed a liability release form. Later, VCA corporate offered me $940.95 under the same conditions.
I declined because this is unethical and appears to violate the Consumer Review Fairness Act.My concern is that this corporation can harm pets and then try to silence clients who speak up taking advantage of financial or the urgency we have for our pet care. I hope my experience helps other pet owners make informed choices and encourages more ethical practices within VCA.
AVOID AVOID AVOID.
AVOID AVOID AVOID.
This place is a huge scam. Went in to have my kitten's spay evaluated, since she had a seroma, and possible test for a uti, since she was having some outside the box urination. They tried convincing me to do close to $500 worth of tests for things she had already been tested and vaccinated for, or for tests that are inaccurate at her current age. Then they said "The test is inaccurate, so you'll have to come back and do it AGAIN in 2 months, but we should do it anyway." They barely even glanced at her spay and completely ignored the uti question. But man, were they quick to try and sell us on probiotics and their bs 'care club.'
This review is VCA Pinnacle Animal…
I have been bringing my German Shepherd to Pinnacle since she was just 3 months old. She is now older (almost 12), with failing hind legs, and like many shepherds, she experiences high anxiety at the vet. Despite this, she has never bitten, snapped, or harmed anyone -- even without sedation -- in all her years of care here.
At our last visit, the clinic falsely noted that we had given her anti-anxiety medication, which we had not. She was anxious, but no muzzle was needed and the staff were able to give her injections and complete her exam without issue. This most recent visit was simply for another quick injection -- something that would take literally seconds -- yet we were told we could not proceed without her being on medication for two days beforehand.
Amanda, the staff member we dealt with, claimed my gsd was aggressive, snarled and growled so she needed to prioritize her staff's safety. I don't know where she got this information but it certainly wasn't in the notes and having attended every appointment with Millie I KNOW that my pet has never been aggressive to the technicians or the vets. While I understand safety is important, this reasoning is hard to accept given my dog's long history here without any incidents. If Amanda doesn't know the difference between aggressiveness and anxiety she shouldn't be working there!! Amanda decided to be a hard hat and showed zero compassion. We have never been turned away before by the staff. There was no apology or willingness to listen to my perspective as the owner.
My dog desperately needed this injection for her deteriorating legs, but Pinnacle refused to provide it.
In addition, since being acquired by VCA, the clinic has also become significantly more expensive and increasingly focused on selling as many additional services as possible -- whether or not they are truly necessary.
This experience has left me feeling the clinic is no longer a welcome place and that they do not truly care for the pets in their care or respect the owners who know them best. All they care about is making as much money from the owners as possible. After years of loyalty, they did not return the same. I will not be returning.

I thought I would try it out- they had a first exam free offer. I booked it, went in, and was told that we were eligible. They only do exams where nothing is wrong- not sure why you need an exam then, but ok?
Hold on to your wallet
Receptionist, vet techs and vet were attentive and gave an honest assessment of our elder dog's condition BUT, it became very clear that VCA is all about squeezing as much money from their clients as possible. Everything centered around "the treatment plan and cost". We spent over $4500 IN A 27 HOUR HOSPITALIZATION with "no guarantees" that our dog's condition won't return in the future. It seems that every thing they do revolves around ensuring they take every penny they can from vulnerable clients who are already dealing with their own fear and uncertainty about their beloved pet. AVOID. Obscene overcharging for services
Why so many one star negative reviews
Why so many one star negative reviews. Must be a reason.
This hospital is a nightmare for pet lovers, they only suck your money but no love for pets at all, I really don’t know how they still in biz? I regret to have my dog there and received the coldest treatment and died.
Even in his last few minutes, I was begging the doctor open the oxygen room so I can touch my dog, but she refused and said it will affect the other dog to get oxygen! Then she just sit down and drink her coffee. Chatting with others colleagues and careless at all.
My dog took all exams a week ago when he first into the emergency condition, week late he repeatedly confronted with the same hearth issue , but the other doctor insisted to take blood, ultra sonic and x-ray again. I explained my dog is 15 years olds and not safe to keep taking these exams. But the doctor refused my concern and insisted did all for charging me a lot money. This doctor even promised me to have the dog back to good condition tomorrow morning.
I don’t care to spend the money, but my dog passed away a few hours later, I can see how much pains my dog suffered from his tears. I also feel so angry this new-hand doctor used my dog as a testing animal and making cold money. But it is too late.
I wish I can give NO STAR if there’s an option seriously. Hope someone can see this review before taking your loving pet to go there.
Garden State Animal Hospital
The animal hospital I go to - Garden State Animal hospital is among THE BEST in the land, but VCA is terrible. Especially their website. It literally takes 10,000 hours to check out on the website. TERRIBLE!!! Just go to literally ANYWHERE ELSE to buy because the website NEVER EVER works! Like never. I am done placing orders on their website because I have reported it so many times, and VCA just sits back, counts their $ and could absolutely care less about the experience their customers have on their website! Do yourself a favor - need an excellent vet, see Dr. Fisher at GSAH. Need to buy anything from their website, forget about it!

I am taking care of a service dog that uses a VCA office for routine care. My wife suspected the dog had a urinary infection and has some before in her fourteen years making it a good guess. I was well treated by the employees and received timely service. The vet suggested we get a urine sample and run the common test on it and also a culture. Sounds good so far but the assistant had entered those few items in to his pricing matrix and said my bill today would be $491. At times I just don't feel like being a door mat and flatly told the vet that the pricing was just plain criminal. She was calm and acted like mine was a common response. I decided to take the dog to my normal vet and got a quote from them from the parking lot. All the same but no urine culture that was not needed at this point. $141 is all for the total visit. So that plus the $99 I wasted on the VCA office call and it's still half as much. They may be a fine operation but are not price competitive.

I was a breeder of Pembroke corgis and toy poodles. Vca came and made themselves a monopoly and then pulled the plug on service... 1st) complaint...female toy just gave birth and started getting sick. $400 for pymetria test...confirmed fluid in the uterus they sent her home with no antibiotics and she almost died $3000 spay....2nd complaint...female toy poodle over gestation period..has a history of this. Vet administered oxytocin at 2pm and sent her home where she stalled labor and left us looking for a surgeon for hours...2 puppies died. $3500 c section. 3rd complaint...male toy neutered came back bruised from his knees to the head of his penis...next day thinking he was in shock I called to get a follow up and they told me the couldn't (wouldn't) see him (big difference) so after all this and roughly 100 grand I've done with them in business they took payments on 6 care clubs then closed them and my whole account after taking payments for services they had no intention of providing....contacting a lawyer
Avoid this place if you love your pet
Avoid this place if you love your pet. They are not professional. They upsell to run unnecessary tests. They do not provide the treatment your pet deserves and will charge you an arm and leg to get substandard care. They send me an appointment and when I arrive they tell me they don't set appointments. I understand that the waiting list can vary but they are unaccommodating to drop off or get a call to come back. The staff is rude if you ask any questions. I will never go back and find I need to warn others about this place. Even after I showed them the email they said they don't set appointments and said I was rude when I asked them to read the email to me if I misunderstood it. They wrapped his leg so tight from where they drew blood that his paw swelled up 300% normal size. They told me on a followup visit they should have removed that before he was sent home. It wasn't. They will not allow you to drop off a pet until someone talks to you. That can be over an hour and they ask 2 questions. Is he vomiting or has diarrhea then they will hold until they are ready. The staff apparently thinks they can treat their clients any way they want. Stay away!!!
Medication prices extreme intant increase
Well vet's are wonderful and they really care but the fact that the Mars Bar Corperation has purchased the VCA hospitals as well as several others are making it practically impossible for pet owners to care for pets heath properly. My cats medicine went from 35 $ for past 2 years to 75 $ ( same med same size ) this is unexceptable.
My dog has been suffering from seizures
My dog has been suffering from seizures. I called the clinic early in the morning to get him on anti-seizure medication until he could be seen by his neurologist. I called early in the morning and was assured by whoever answered the phone that it should be ready, no problem and that they would put a rush on this so a few hours go by I still haven’t heard anything so I give them a call. They tell me that he probably won’t get to it until after lunch but by then I should have it then it’s 330 and I have to call again and I’m told that oh there’s other people and other appointments and what not I was not told that in the morning, I was told that it would be handled very quickly and a very timely manner because my dog needed it for seizures. I called for the third time. Finally the doctor calls back and says that he is going to call it in. Come to find out an hour later. It still wasn’t called in. It is now 7 PM almost full 12 hours since I started this whole process and I still don’t have my dogs medication. It’s supposed to be ready by 7 PM. My frustration is that no one took this seriously enough. They took their time with it. They dropped the ball with it and then gave me some lame ass. Excuse of oh well we have other patients and other prescriptions when I was told that this would be done in a timely manner and it wasn’t. I do not recommend going to this clinic. They are extremely expensive and they really don’t give a shit about you or your Animal.
VCA Little. Bayonet Point Florida
We have been taking our dog to VCA Little in Bayonet Point, Florida for over 14 years. It isn’t the cheapest vet in the area, but you get what you pay for. Great medical care for your pet & the confidence knowing you can trust a special member of your family with superior medical attention. We have just established our new puppy with VCA Little & have NEVER questioned the decision to use this office. Dr Wendt is a wonderful vet & the staff is outstanding. You might pay a bit more but they never force you to pay for ALL the charges in the care plan. They are suggestions the vet thinks would benefit your 4 legged baby. You have the option to opt in to all the suggestions or modify the suggestions according to your budget. When we use a doctor we don’t always decide who we trust with our care based on the price. Why would you do that for your pet? If you don’t want to pay for The BEST, maybe you shouldn’t have your pet.
Since this vet was purchased by MARS
Since this vet was purchased by MARS, it will never be the same. They are not the vet office they used to be. Whenever you have a corporate takeover - all they care about is profits, and nothing else. I have to find a new vet now.
Convenia antibiotic is dangerous for cats. Dr Hung negligent cat killer
I took our 3 year old cat Browny to Dr. Karen Hung of the Willowdale Animal Hospital on April 12, 2025 to treat a small 2 cm cat fight wound behind the ear. Dr. Hung cleaned the wound and decided to give him an injection of the Convenia antibiotic without discussing it with me beforehand. She failed to advise me of the potential side effects of Convenia - namely lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling. difficulty breathing and DEATH and to monitor the cat for these side effects and to advise veterinarian within 24 hours if they occur. So when Browny stopped eating on May 1st I did not connect it to the antibiotic. He died suddenly on May 3rd. Karen Hung was negligent in not informing me about the potential side effects including death of the Clovenia antibiotic injection . I would have elected to give him an oral antibiotic instead.
