We just spent 18,000 on our pet for surgery. One day is fine and three days later he died. I don’t believe a word they told me. I believe they made up diagnosis. I truly dislike everything about thi... Vis mer

Never has appointments available in a timely fashion.
The lakewood location never has appointments. My dog had coughing spells...I guess it wasn't too important since the only thing available was a month later. The wait list is a joke. Luckily it was Banfield to the rescue and I was able to get my pet within 2 days of scheduling.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR REPTILE HERE
I took my bearded dragon there who is 7 years old. They wanted to keep him overnight so I put down a hefty deposit. I left there around 3:30. I got the phone call around 5:30 he has no heartbeat. The lady said since it’s a reptile they need to keep him 24 hours so I can pick his body up the next day at 4. That means he died 30 minutes after I dropped him off. When I picked up the body they charged over 500$. They did exrays and a bunch of things to bring the bill up. I stopped at captive bred to get the things the vet said I need for him. I told the pet store owner my dragons symptoms and he said his did the same before he died. The vet should have known this the body language and symptoms were clear. If you have a reptile, DO NOT take them here.
AVOID
AVOID! I went there with a sick dog, they charged me $525 for the visit and bloodwork and came back saying she needed all sorts of treatments from blood transfusions to surgeries. When I couldn't afford those options, They told me my dog was going to die, recommended we put her down. Talk about devastating. Even their quote for putting her down was exorbitant so we decided to go home and let it happen naturally.
I reached out to a couple of other vets I know, both were *appalled* that VCA urgent care sent me home without antibiotics, the obvious first line of defense with a dog presenting with a fever and high white blood cell count.
So I took my dog to another local vet once they opened; the vet examined the dog and put her on a course of antibiotics. It worked, the dog is fine. Unlike VCA urged, I did not need surgery, or a blood transfusion, for thousands of dollars - I needed a $30 round of antibiotics.
These people showed themselves to be all about the money, dishonest, and NOT the place to take a pet that you care for.
We have been clients of Anderson’s…
We have been clients of Anderson’s Corner Vet for over 9 years. Since VCA has taken over, the customer service is terrible. They raised prices for overnight to the size of the dog instead of the size of the crate. It now costs us $90 a night for our dog. Most of the time when I call, I get an answer service. I emailed the person in charge of boarding and she never emailed back. I notice that the employees who have been there many years have quit. I intend on finding a new vet. I would never recommend this vet to anyone.
unhappy review forced to get a new vet!
What happens when you are asked to go to another vet? well, the vet is puffy eyed, and reluctently gives my pet a vacination, I am puffy eyed. What just happended. I am stunned. The VCA had been my care provider for several of my pets since 2008. Last - mother dearly departed and my last connection to her was her dog died in my arms 2019, a year after mother's passing. And before that her oldestdog passed 2010. That was my last connection.
No matter where I lived Toronto - I have had great vets care for my pets since 1997. Why did this Vet : accused me of not caring for my dogs; threaten to call law enforcement, force animal inspection; to even consider medical wellness of my dog infront of her.
or to even see my other rehomed aged 6yr pet (who need of surgery to spay). Yet only begrudge giving my oldest dog -a vaccine that she was due for.
Its April 2024. this is verbal bullying and abuse.
I was crying and stunned. After closing out the 2 accounts, stopping care club payments (which they received
3 months of care payments for no services $$$ x pets
more money) -I left.. its urgent-I am smart enough to keep my pets Insurance plans. Carefully I find vet in a week and get urgent surgery for her. Her health was more important that the non sales pitch of the last vet who refused to see her.
Another three months later July - Surprised - I cannot order food from my new vet through mollies >>> because my MOLLIES account [ past 3 years of paid delivery - is tied to the LAWRENCE VCA.] Confused? its all about the money. not even about the care of my pets.
Since June 28, 2024 - MOLLIES.CA and tech support receive 7 communications from me ( emails, human phone calls, and more emails to mollies to close/transfer the account; and today- finally an email to LAWRENCE VCA) this weekend to demand that the account be closed so that a new account with the new vet for food orders be opened. ( a different VCA VET at a different location)
a) MOLLIES phone lines and customer service terrible - non - existant. no response since June 28/2024
b) response times, NONE... I cannt order food
c) ASK for refund my money $612.30 because I cannot place any order for more food of mollies through my new VET.
d) my new vet needs to monitor the diet they prescribe... not the old vet. so why buy from OLD VET? ( I bought the food for my pets health for several years.) so why do I stop now. because I cannot switch providers when I was asked to leave! and take pets account elsewhere.
e) whats the point... I am going to have to spend more money on getting food that the dogs will have to GET USED TO, and certainly it will cost more ( time, , gas, back breaking effort, and I have crippling arthritic pain. I still get up and care for my pets, walk, poop and scoop, feed, water, take them to vets, and groomers.
f) the previous orders were delivered to the door but now I have to buy it and carry it from store, to car, to house, to feed my dogs for another year. SO since I cannot order (auto-re-order and door delivery )
I want my money back...
g) VCA Lawrence- really don't want you- even after you pay for years $$$$$ of pet medical care, euthansia, wellness plan, operations, examinations, medical illness, vaccines, prescription food/drugs.. then when their staff are not clearly delivering or understanding the elements of prepaid pet service and client service communications. They treat you like garbage and force a type neglect and control to Molly account (cann't close it, cann't transfer it, they want to keep the kick back for auto re-order as if you are still their client) - and they won't even update your account.. even when you are not their client.
h) I think its time for standardized client care. they really are competitive for service, and billing, but not on customer satisfaction. They just want control/ neglect your billing, keep the auto reorder subscription going so that you're forced to give them commissions even after they throw you out after paying and devouting the care of your consecutive pets, since 2008? and that is alot of years.
so Will I buy MOLLIES again... not from RUINOUS vet clinics with front line staff as toxic and poisoness as the last one. I couldnt even ask them to examine my vacinated dog for care at that wellness check. and to think the VET gave her a vaccine begrudgingly. IF I was neglectful of my dogs would I bring her in for one of the unlimited wellness check or ask monthly for her nails clips, what is wrong with that ... its a wellness check for early detection and vet used it to blame me? when I am the one to bring my old girl in and paid major $1500 extensive 12 month heartworm medical therapy - and years of wellness care plan- why am I treated like a bad pet owner ??
conclusion - I am glad I left the toxic staff at
VCA Lawrence. Petty.
My French Bulldog has been in several…
My French Bulldog has been in several times. We know he has disc problems and have always waited hours to see a vet only to be given dog pain drugs. Great. It does always happen on a weekend and I know this is what's happening tonite. I called to see if you'd look up his record and help us out and of course. No. Bring him in and wait and then go home with same meds. NEVER will I recommend. Money talks...thanks.
This was a tough appt but they really helped
I knew that I would most likely have to put down my cat when I went in for this appt so it was difficult. The Dr was great... he was professional, compassionate & sincerely empathetic to my situation. The staff was also great even after I had some impolite bursts of emotions which even though I apologized afterwards, I felt badly, but they were kind & understanding & didn't make me feel worse than I did. This was my first time there. It was a tough appt & a tough day but the Dr & staff were kind to me & my poor little pet & did what they could to make it not as bad as it was. I appreciated that.
"Poor" seems to be the common rating…
"Poor" seems to be the common rating for the VCA hospitals. My experience was nothing less. The front clerks are less than helpful and inexperienced and the vets refuse to take the time to come out front to discuss your pets underlying problems. They also refused to hold my pet for observations and recommended I go to a different vet. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and the staffs lack of empathy for my pets ongoing situation. I will never go back to a VCA facility and do not recommend anyone to waste their time, efforts or money.
Worst Veterinarian
This VCA animal hospital in Rutherford NJ and for the reviews I've seen should not be in business! They almost killed my cat $3000 for pain meds all they did because I could not afford their $7000 they claimed he was blocked, it turned out he just had UTI, just needed fluids and antibiotics which cost me another $1500 at another emergency vet.
ALL THEY CARE IS ABOUT THE MONEY
ALL THEY CARE IS ABOUT THE MONEY. I signed an agreement with VCA Hospital for over $10,000.00 so they can treat my sick dog. They kept her overnight, very little if anything was done and she ultimately died in their care.
Do not trust this hospital all they care is about money not your pet.

Expensive
Expensive! Blood test cost $329.25. For a standard valley fever check. Each time I return there the cost has increased.
Terrible people steal your pets to sell them and tell you they r dead when they aren't
I didn't even want to give them one star they honestly don't even deserve that I was forced in down town calgary to take my dog Joey down to a vca emergancy vet hospital due to the fact he ate something outside of my apartment building and collapsed in my lap at home they told me at the door to pay 2000 dollars wich I didn't have I'm low income and or they couldn't do nothing for him quote " if I sign him over to the humane society they can pay his vet bill " and I had no choice with my baby dying inside the hospital after trying to Bite them cause they were literally pulling on him to get him out of my car wich was uncalled for to begin with get him inside then tell me you want 2000 dollars I had no choice knowing he wasn't doing well and not wanting him to die they made me sign the papers and so I did once signed they made me think for weeks that my dog was dead and in a month later they posted him at the humane society with out a picture well I knew it was my Joey in that ad they tried to throw us off with misinterpreted information about him being a little off but a good friend of mine was the one who drove me that day and was in total disbelief on the forcing me to sign papers and give him up to the humane society then after try to charge me with neglect of his medical situation once paper was signed and then to top things off have the audacity to tell me to go to the humane society and adopt a different dog I couldn't have my dog back but I was welcome to any other dog this place the humane society and all the whole chain is in it 1000000 % out of 100 for the cash only retreat from taking any pet there ever they will scam lie cheat and steal to get your pet make you think they are dead when they aren't and then to top it off post them up for cash for a new home anyway my friend didn't agree when they came and made me sign the paperwork so he when Joey went up for adoption he went and got a appointment to adopt him and now he owns him but I get to see him every day now thanks to my friend jim who is also a very well known martial arts sensa in calgary here and very well respected by many and he got my boy back with his people he knows that day what they did to us for a whole month making me think he was dead when he wasn't and all that was wrong and this place should not be allowed to touch anyone's pet ever take your pet private like here where I live in bowness here the animal hospital by the superstore is now where my pets go to and I boycott ever going to another vca ever again I refuse to ever go back this place is evil and they 110% don't give a damn about your pet or you I wouldn't take any animal there for no reason evil place stay away from thos place unless you want to never see your pet again this happend to me about two years ago thank you jim for letting me be able to see my boy again evil hospital doesn't hurt the city if this place fell on top these money thirsty hoodlums disgusting people that work there should be ashamed of them selves I wish this place and all the vcas would close thier doors forever and they should all go to jail I'm my eyes everyone there was nothing but a scam artist and a terrible criminal stay awsy from here if you truly love your pet trust me from my experience stay away
Money over concern for your pet
This is from your own website
Prompt attention usually allows the adult teeth to move into their proper positions. In most cases, it is not recommended to wait until your pet is neutered or spayed. Extraction of the persistent tooth require general anesthesia. Your veterinarian will take special care during the extraction to avoid damaging the developing roots of the new permanent tooth.
My two dogs are 1 yr and 3 months and all you've done is watch their adult teeth grow over their baby teeth, obviously do you could charge more money for a second unnecessary surgery with no regard for my dogs well being. This is exactly why I was hesitant to bring my dogs there because it's not about the pet with you it's only about the money. I only went there because, at the time, you were the only ones in the area accepting new patients. Extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with your service.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. We are bringing our dog for cadi injections to VCA Aventura Animal Hospital every 2 months for the pass several years and today they rejected to do the injection with the explanation that the dog has some ear infection and we have to spent over $400.00 first to do some ear test and treatment which has nothing to do with the appointment we scheduled for the injection. Cadi (cytopoint) injection is a treatment to reduce any allergies and slow down the itch. Our dog was treated for ear infection previously in VCA Aventura by Dr. Alexeev and I would say that he is only one doctor at this clinic who are a real doctor and provide a truly health service and not a business services to the pets.( Unfortunately he was off today and injection can be provided by any technicians)
Medical Director Gabrielle was very unprofessional as a health care provider and very good as a business provider trying to do a business first and then worry about the health of the pet.
I would not recommend this clinic if you really need a professional services to your pets. For the pass several years the doctors and personal change constantly here most likely due to unprofessional services they provided.
Compassionate to animals & humans
This is regarding the West Suburban VCA animal hospital. I had taken my dog there before & liked the attentiveness of the staff & doctor. So even though this hospital is a distance from my domain, I prefer to take her there for care. Mainly because of the care received. Today she went in for a issue & she was given medication to treat it w/ a return visit next week to reassess. When I received the bill, I nearly dropped on the floor! It was very expensive & being a senior well lets say my whole monthly income would go to pay bill. When I contacted the hospital, I am grateful for their compassion. It is now something I can actually work with. Thank you so much!
Concern over Money vs Pet
01.2024 - Rancho Cordova, CA. I was referred to this place by my veterinary for my cat Jack. A quick note is that I was a previous client many years ago until they relocated to this new location. I stopped going there because this place appears and acts like the money is more important than the animals. I have never had an issue with the cost of my animals for they are just as important as myself, but this place appeared to be more concerned about getting their money.
My vet sent over all of Jack's records because his office was unable to tend to his front tooth (which apparently was broken, and pulp exposed). I am awaiting more clarification from Jack's original surgeon.
When I set up the appointment, I explained what needed to be done and reconfirmed with Jack's vet. The scheduler stated it was a $250 consultation fee. I was fine with that and understood the consultation was to explain what they would need to do because Jack would require x-rays prior to them performing the extraction. This also required him to be anesthetized.
After receiving clarification from my vet, this place was to do the x-rays and the procedure (I was concerned about him having multiple anesthesias). I was informed this place would complete both x-rays and extraction.
I arrived at my appointment, not allowing Jack to eat or drink knowing he was going to get his tooth done, etc. I met the intake clerk who asked multiple questions, I inquired wanting to ensure my vet had sent in Jack's records. The clerk stated they had the records.
The clerk took Jack to get some 'vitals'.
Then, came Dr Zuckerberg. All she did was inform me that everything looked fine to proceed with Jack and the only difference for me was to decide extraction or root canal.
Much to my surprise, we were done, and Jack was going home versus getting the procedure that was needed. The vet informed me that all we were doing today was a consult and to schedule his procedure.
All for $210 and nothing new. Everything these people did was waste my time, make Jack hungry, confused, and nervous! I immediately contacted my vet to inform him of this place and he will be referring Jack somewhere where the animal comes first and then comes the money.
The staff knew that Jack was coming in that day for his procedure, NOT just to consult because I already knew what needed to be done and they had all his records.
To just repeat the information for $210 is beyond comprehension. You had the records, you had all his vitals, you had all the information other than my authorization to extract. that was it. You were to schedule accordingly and didn't.
I see that this place has not changed a bit. Just greedy. It's sad.
Tiki’s Dental Surgery
Today we brought Tiki, my female 18 yr old cat in to VRC, for dental surgery.
In prior visits leading up to her surgery, (the staff & other vets were absolutely amazing)!
Their guidance, & expertise on how to proceed with Tiki was top notch!
Dr Chai who did Tiki’s Oral surgery was absolutely fantastic. She also took the time to explain to us in detail what to expect, & what needed to be done moving forward.
I would highly recommend VRC for their compassion, care, & expertise. I was highly impressed.
Thank you so much VRC for taking such phenomenal care of Tiki!!🙏🙏🙏❤️😻

Too Expensive and costly unnecessary treatment
I was able to get my dog in the same day, that was great! My dog had inflammation in his ear. The vet required him to undergo be sedated to clean and inspect his ear. In the past 40 of owning a dog, we used ear drops to treat ear infections. This method produced 420.00 dollars worth of cost and did not include the recommended follow up visit of 139.00! This is ridulous to charge so much when simple ear drops and sending home an ear cleanse could have saved me so much money! The vet refused to sell me cleanse for the future once this cleared up for future preventative measures. This clinic is all about making money and I do not recommend them for this reason.
Avoid this place like the plague!
My dog sitter had to take my French Bulldog to the nearest emergency room for breathing distress while I was out of town. This Fountain Valley VCA hospital was an absolute nightmare! They know that they have the owner over a barrel and feel free to extort as much money as they can because they know the owner is not going to tell them to let their pet die!
Their invoice was full of duplicate charges and within an hour of arrival, they had a treatment plan that was estimated at $6400 for an overnight hospital stay. The grossly inflated charges included $80 for each and every blood pressure taken, $727 for a chest X-ray, interpretation, and sedation of an already sedated dog! Their charge for medications in addition to $200 for IV medications was $450 -- for 15 tablets of Trazodone sedative, and 9 tablets of Prednisone -- very common and inexpensive generic medications.
There is absolutely no regulation against this kind of price gouging for anyone unfortunate enough to enter their doors. Their greed is unconscionable, and probably all too common for this industry.
