Easy to buy and set up. As advertised. After purchase I did personalize the e-bike to fit me better. Trimmed the handlebars shorter and added an extension to the handlebars stem to sit me up more.... Vis mer

My experience with Upway was mixed

EDIT/UPDATE - 5/27/2026: After posting this review, Upway’s customer support team reached out directly to discuss the situation further. While I still stand by the frustrations outlined below regarding the original communication and resolution process, I do want to give credit where it’s due, they did make a good-faith effort afterward to help resolve the situation. I still believe there is room for improvement in post-sale support and communication when issues arise, but I also believe in acknowledging when a company makes a genuine effort to make things right and I appreciate that.

My experience with Upway was mixed, and unfortunately frustrating enough that I personally would not purchase from them again.

The final outcome was positive: the replacement bike arrived in good condition, was easy to assemble, and we are happy with the bike itself. Upway also ultimately corrected the financial/accounting mistakes that happened during the exchange process.

However, getting to that point took nearly a month and required a significant amount of follow-up on my end. Communication throughout the process was often slow and unclear, and the exchange workflow felt very disorganized. There were multiple invoice/refund/payment issues during the exchange, and at several points I felt like I was the one trying to keep track of what was actually happening.

Shipping complications with FedEx also added a lot of stress to the process, though I do not fully blame Upway for those issues.

I don’t think Upway is a scam company, and I do think they eventually tried to make things right. I do think their prices are very fair and the products are good. But for a purchase of this size, I expected a much smoother and more coordinated customer experience. In the end, the bike was good, but the process was exhausting enough that I would likely purchase elsewhere in the future. Also worth mentioning, this was my third Ebike purchase through online means. Prior purchases through other companies had no such issues.

Unfortunately the bike didn't work out…

Unfortunately the bike didn't work out for me. It was shipped quickly to me in a well designed container. After set up and a test ride I elected to return the bike. The return process was easy as I followed the return requirements. Shortly after Upway received the return, my card was credited. In the last two years I have purchased several bikes from them and have been completely satisfied with the transactions. I recommend them without reservation.

Super amazing support

I was out of the country and I was trying to buy a bike for my girlfriend for Mother’s Day. The internet was real bad. And Upway reached out thru txt to help me order the bike so it would get to her on time. I was so happy with the support. The packaging was excellent. Super73 easy to put together. She loves the bike.

No explanation on refund

I ended up returning a bike and purchasing a replacement. Upway did not communicate with me and refunded $200 less than the purchase price with no explanation.

Great business model

Great business model. Very clear communication and information on the bikes offered. Website easy to navigate and a great selection of bikes from which to choose. From start to delivery, I was informed of eash aspect. The bike delivery box, and packing was excellent. And the bine was exactly as listed.

A Safe Purchase

The bike was well packed and Upway kept me clearly informed on arrival date. The bike condition was exactly as described. I trusted Upway and was not disappointed.

Buying a bike from Upway was easy and…

Buying a bike from Upway was easy and my bike is awesome. It turned out that I didn't need the added phone call I paid for to set up my bike and before I could even ask for a refund, my money for that service was refunded. I would highly recommend Upway to anyone looking for a new/used bike.

I had a great experience with Upway. They answered all the questions I had before my purchase. The bike arrived quickly. The bike was everything I had hoped for. Perfect condition. I would definitely recommend buying from Upway.

Fradulent 50-Point Inspection Claim; They Do Not Inspect Their Bikes

I purchased a Gazelle bike from Upway and it came with a battery cover that couldn't be opened, as well as a disc brake issue and a bunch of tape residue.

According to their website, all of these things should have been fixed in their 50-point inspection. Upway claimed they happened during shipping. *Both* Gazelle and an e-bike shop confirmed that the battery cover issue could *not* have been caused by shipping.

Upway customer service handled this terribly. They paid for it to be fixed, but they recommended shops that wouldn't work on the bike, never admitted the mistake, and didn't reimburse me for my time or hassle.

I have a suspicion that they skimp on their 50-point inspections (mechanic labor is expensive!) and satisfy customers by paying for repairs when issues are discovered. People are paying for a bike that works out of the box and is certified *safe* and *usable*. This was no different than buying from Craigslist. They are fraudulent.

I am a bike mechanic.

Great Customer Service

Very Happy with my purchase after a rough start. The handover process in my Levo 4 wasn't done so I had to take it to a bike shop to have the software updated. Upway reimbursed me for the cost and their customer service was exceptional. They assured me their handover process has been updated so this won't happen to anyone else. I got a great price and will do business with Upway again!
