Delivery

Delivery, quality product, as stated and pictured and I have trust that I will get a quality bike that has been thoroughly reviewed by technicians. This is my second purchase of a bike from upway. First was trek rail, this was specialized levo. Both are fantastic.

Very knowledgable staff

I had an excellent experience with Upway. I was concerned about the bikes being legit so i called the staff at Upway. I couldn't believe how well they knew the bikes they were selling. I spoke with someone who was able to answer every question that I had and seemed like a true expert in the bike world. The bike that I purchased arrived quickly and was professionally packaged with zero damage. I highly recommend Upway and will definitely check with them for any bikes needs in the future!

Upway leaves nothing to chance

Upway leaves nothing to chance. They meet and exceed expectations. What ever I've purchased from them works exactly as promised and when an issue does occur they again do what they promise.

Very happy with bike and buying process

I tried Upway because a friend recommended it and forwarded e-bikes to me. I was very pleased with the ease of ordering, the ability to Chat with someone online, the quick arrival of the bike, the protective packing, the great condition of the bike . I was very pleased with every aspect! Thank you!!

Great bike; but less than ideal inspection & delayed customer support

While the bike that was delivered from Upway was in good working condition, there were some cosmetic scratches and rust that was a bit unexpected.

This would have been acceptable, but the other issue was that the charger delivered with the bike was not functional. I had to reach out to Upway and contact their customer service to seek a fix - they did get back to me in a reasonable amount of time. They asked me to go to a local bike shop and have it checked. Luckily the bike shop I went to was able to verify that it was an issue with the charger and order a new one for me.

However, I spent a lot of time going back and forth with Upway and then going to the bike shop to have the bike checked and then to pick up the new charger. The folks at Upway did refund me for the cost of the new charger, which I appreciate, but it took me two emails and a call to get the refund, which was annoying.

Overall, I would still recommend Upway for those looking to purchase a specific refurbished ebike but I would strongly urge the team at Upway to improve their inspection process and ensure that the bike and all accessories are at least in working condition before shipping; and also to be a little more proactive with following up on customer service requests.

All bikes come with a 12 month Limited Warranty against defects and shipping damage, which allows us to make this happen for our riders.

Unusual to not be able to make an account on UpWay

Unusual to not be able to make an account as a bike buyer/customer.
I never bought anything from them but the company seems sketchy/shady in what it means to have a 'track'
of whatever they are selling.
Even without their knowledge they might sell stolen bikes. Or have little to no responsibility whatsoever in that case with no accounts being made and stored.
As for the website there is a claim for "Theft and damage insurance" stating "-Theft coverage at home and on the go — anytime, anywhere
-Bicycle insured for its full value, including accessories purchased together with the bicycle.
-The full repair costs in the event of vandalism or accidents are reimbursed"
But when you click the "Learn more" link you are let to know at the bottom of the title "Extended warranty & maintenance package" that "The maintenance portion is not insurance and does not cover damage or theft."
Conclusion: This raises some eyebrows if rather anything from there I just mentioned is legal or simply they can do whatever they want.

Potential buyers and sellers have the ability to view details around said policies and protection plans on our site, via the help section located on the top right corner of the webpage (small question mark within a circle).

We utilize third party insurance companies who offer the protection plans on our site; ie SUNDAYS and EXTEND. Both are credible insurance providers for cyclist and show to be useful services for our riders when the time comes. Riders are able to provide themselves quotes, and cost rundowns during the checkout process, if they are interested.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns regarding account creation and our insurance claims. We are actively reviewing our processes to ensure clarity and transparency for all users. Your feedback is invaluable as we work to improve our services.

Lots of promise, lots of room to improve.

Truth be told, if not for Emma, this would have been a 1 star review and much less kind. Clearly there is some thought behind the concept (and some VC $). The inventory is great. The website and photos are top notch. The packaging and touch points are great. However, the actual bike I received (the first one) was clearly not inspected or delivery ready. Granted it was a pre-owned bike, but their pitch promises a pre-delivery service and inspection. The bike upon receipt needed a laundry list of fixes. That was BEFORE the Enviolo gave up the ghost. Endless calls, texts, emails and flawed communication followed. The CS manager, Emma, got involved and seamlessly arranged for a not so easy return and exchange. She saved the day. The other CS team members that I dealt with have plenty of room for improvement. I would probably patronize again, but not without some hesitation.

We are glad that Emma was able to resolve the issues for you. We are actively working to improve our pre-delivery inspections and communication processes.

All of our bikes go through multiple inspection processes; once when we receive the bike from the previous owner, again when the bike has been refurbished/tuned, and one last time before it's shipped out/picked up by riders. The feedback you provided is valuable to us and will be used to make room for improvements to our process.

The communication from the Customer Service team also shows to have been encumbered by the large influx of inquiries we have received lately. Apologies for the experience. We're grateful to have Emma here to support our team.

I am happy I found Upway!

I am happy I found Upway. I didn't want to drop a ton of money on a new emtb, but I also wanted to have reassurance if there is a problem. Upway was the solution. Bike came packaged well and when I did have a small wheel problem, Upway solved it to my liking. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them and buying from them in the future.

Great experience and Customer support

What a great experience using UPWay! I would definitely recommend buying a used ebike from them. I was able to buy my Specialized Turbo Creo 2 Expert at a huge discount plus get a warranty!
Bike came well packaged and easy to assemble. Had the bike looked at with my local bike shop and ….. they were jelly ;)

Gene was amazing!

Gene was amazing! Patient, knowledgeable and really worked to find us the right bike in the right price range for us. We had been looking for weeks and he helped us get exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend working with him!

Look local first

Let me start with the positive, the bike itself is very nice; tight, good ride, looks good and most importantly my wife likes it. Now for the negative, due to a shipping snafu it took about two weeks to arrive. Not a big issue but when you are notified that your bike will arrive in 5 days then it’s a big letdown. So when the bike arrives I get it put together and find that the battery lock is frozen. Again, not a giant issue because you don’t need to get in there unless there’s a problem with your battery. But I feel something so obvious would have been checked prior to shipping. That is of course if there is any sort of quality control. And if that is something that is not checked or repaired it should be noted in the description so that a customer can make a better informed decision as to buy or not. In the end I bought the replacement lock directly from the manufacturer and replaced it myself. I think Upway has a way to go before they gain full confidence with customers in this market. Next time I will search high and low locally before purchasing a used bike. At least I would be able to inspect it myself to ensure its serviceability.

Our mechanics are highly skilled and experienced, but at times some aspects can be missed. To compensate for these rare cases, we offer a 12 Month Limited Warranty with every bike sold. This allows us to work with riders and their local shop to resolve any issues that may arrive in the 12 months period and on arrival. More details can be found on our site via the help section (small circle with a questions mark).

We recognize that this process was not the smoothest and that communication could have been better. We appreciate this feedback and will use this to improve on said processes.

My buying experience was outstanding

My buying experience was outstanding! The responses to my questions via chat were quick, personal and thorough (I have continued asking question even after my purchase, and the staff continues to provide quick, helpful information). The packaging was the best I have ever seen in over 20 years of serious biking. The bike arrived in excellent condition exactly as advertised. Thank you Upway Team - I love my new bike!
