This was my first time using Scan.com, and unfortunately it will be my last. I wouldn’t recommend this service.
Despite paying over £400 upfront, I had to chase the hospital myself just to secure an appointment, which ended up being scheduled two weeks later. Since then, I’ve been waiting nearly three weeks for my results.
Customer service has been extremely frustrating. I’ve contacted them multiple times, each time having to repeat all of my details, only to be told that a message would be passed on and someone would call me back the same day. That call never comes.
As the delay has gone on, it’s become increasingly worrying not knowing what my results are or why there’s such a hold-up. The lack of communication only adds to that concern.
I was also given a support contact number that only accepts text messages, which makes it even harder to get timely assistance.
Overall, the lack of communication and delays have made this a very disappointing experience. If you’re considering booking a scan through this service, save your money and go via the NHS instead — you’ll likely receive your results quicker and have a clear point of contact if anything needs chasing up.

I was able to make an appointment for a knee scan at very short notice. Communication with Scan.com was easy through the portal and I now have copies of my images to share with my consultant. Great service.

on the website it states you get your results back after 7 to 10 days, 14 days later im still chasing my results,appauling service,scanning centre have told me my scans were sent same day so clearly issue lies with scan.com

This company falsely advertises dates and times at sites that they cannot honor as an illegal ploy to entice patients by pretending that they can offer scans quickly and close to home.
This should be raised with Ofcom as it is a way of preying on the vulnerable and I’m sure Martin Lewis will cover it at some point as it will only become more prevalent in future given the current strains on the NHS.
My experience - booked via the website on Monday for an MRI scan on a Thursday morning at 11.45am.
That same day I received a call from a ‘clinician’ from London, a phone call lasting all of 2 minutes and 3 seconds.
On Tuesday night the scanning company called me and stated they were not performing a clinic on the date I had booked, and in fact they did not perform scans on this day of the week, ever.
Scan.com emailed me the next day and said they had been told I wished to cancel my scan and that I could have a refund but there would be a fee of £50 deducted from what I had originally paid to cover the “pre-consultation” aka the 2min 3 sec call from the ‘clinician’.
After multiple requests for an alternative location it took them until the actual scan date and appointment time to offer me an alternative site more than double the distance and travel time away that “might have some availability” over the coming days.
I asked if I could have the scan at more local center closer to my home address and was told I would have to pay an extra £200 - £300 for the privilege.
I called the contact number numerous times only to be greeted by an automated message saying all agents were unavailable. There was no option to wait in a queue and no callback feature.
Emails to the admin and help addresses repeatedly came back undeliverable on outlook email.
AI generated responses only through their booking portal.
All in all, a terrible experience causing a lot of stress, especially in regard to getting my money back, with the fear of being robbed of £50 by this company. And at the end of it I didn’t even have the scan I so desperately needed.

Very efficient and friendly. Missed a star as it wasn't clear from the initial visit to the website that although you might select a date and time this won't always be possible. Very pleased I used the service.

Paid for a private scan while waiting for NHS. I was very unhappy with the experience. They said they couldn't see anything of concern on the scan. I have since had the NHS scan which has confirmed I need a knee replacement. Not to be trusted. Waiting for MRI images to be sent which can take over 2 weeks. I would expect better for £370.

Being faced with a 12 to 14 week wait for a scan, for my own peace of mind I decided to have it done privately. Scan.com were very accommodating. Within the space of seven days I had the initial consultation and the ultrasound scan. The consultant radiologist reasssured me and advised her findings at the end of the scan. Within 48 hours I received a written confirmation. The whole process was very efficient.

Getting the scan was relatively straight forward. However the signage of the venue was very unclear and sat waiting for ages upstairs instead of down stairs. Then called company to chase up why I was waiting and found you need to check in with BUPA and not follow the signage to the scan department upstairs. Because I was ‘late’ the pelvic scan was done abdominally and rushed. Radiographer was brisk. For expediency worthwhile paying but experience with that scan provider was not great. Got follow up phone call with doctor about results which was helpful. However nothing sent to my regular GP.

We are currently part way through a process of getting a knee x-ray via Scan. So far we are not particularly impressed; I hope it improves.
We paid our £200 for the scan and consultation last Saturday and all we’ve received was an email some days later saying we will be contacted within 7 days. It makes you wonder what’s going on behind the scenes and what’s happened to my £200. We used this approach due to NHS anticipated delays but I’m not sure it was a good move.
